Hero went back to his desk after exchanging congratulations with Merc and spent the last five minutes of the period there tipping back in his chair. He figured he didn't have enough time to get started on anything else. When the bell rang Hero picked up his things and headed out into the hallway with the rest of the crowd. He decided to roam around and see who he could run into. It was a break period for him so he had plenty of time to kill, and he was tired of playing RTS for now.

Ota-ku sat in the back of the class, practically immersed with her PSP version of Persona 3. It had taken her 210 hours of game play, two new game plus saves and a years worth of grinding just to reach the secret boss. And she was prepared. She had the ultimate weapon, the ultimate Persona and the best skills. Even so, on hard mode this boss was just hell. She spent most of the battle healing. It got to the point where she forgot what turn her opponent was on and her pattern fell apart. And bam. The boss used her instant kill spell.

The Plume of Dusk glows inside your chest. Will you use it?

    Yes
    > No

She selected No and shut off her PSP. Turning towards Kai, she decided that she would take a little break from gaming and just have a chat.
"Do you think we could make it to the top of the ladder? I mean, not like I care for the publicity or anything." Ota-ku turned away, a beeping sound coming from her monitor. It was from FadingShinigami. Ota-ku opened up her chat box and replied to his message. "Heyy Fading :) Idk if Arch is afk. She might be busy *Shrug*" Kai read her message allowed, chuckling.
"L33t Speak? Am I the only person left alive who doesn't use it?" Ota-ku nudged him back to his own monitor, and he proceeded to type his own message.
"Long time no speak. Arch? I haven't seen her in a while. Anyway, we're going to go grind a bit more now. See ya." Kai and Ota-ku's little avatars moved across into the PvP area where immedietly some level 2 Mage confronted them. His attacks barely did 0.2% damage and a simple swing of Kai's knife took him out with 150% damage.
"Honestly, noobs these days. They could at least not act so rash."
"I hope the kid doesn't get expelled." Kai finished typing into his monitor and the two of them continued into the PvP area. It was quite empty, meaning that people were obviously on the class server.

Silus rubbed the bridge of his nose again, a trait he had picked up due to the fact that his glasses were almost always on his nose and it helped him concentrate "When is the class going to start...." he sighed into his mic before tapping away on his mouse "So i take it you two are going to be looking for that elusive third man?" he laughed a little and decided to follow them "aww...it'll shame to stop falling you two Otakai" He laughed a little and looked at the PVP noobs started attacking each other. He decided to mess with the little fish. Faded stealthed and his elf flicked his knives out the sheaths, the black daggers glinted in the light before fading in to darkness. He always loved this bit....Kill stealing was a forte of his. The elf moved silently in the bushes before leaping out to strike with a savage knife to the throat of a little mage. He laughed into his mic before stealthing up again. 'oh now this is unfair' he thought to himself. He pushed his glasses up his nose before taking out a few more. He smiled briefly at a unison of groans from the other side of the room.

Silus kicked his chair back a little and logged out, leaving his mic still open to Ota-ku and Kai. He looked at Ota and spoke into his mic "Hey Ota...still playing Persona?" He rubbed his nose again before taking a swig of his tea "or have you moved on from that?" He said "I need to start playing more of those single player ones you're so fond of...

Konrad had moved on- after a few conversations, weird looks amongst nearly everyone about what the fuck actually happened in that entire match, from Konrad getting destroyed in the tank to the way the British Army lost, a lot of things were just as certain as he had walked in here. It wasn't about grudges or any crap that got in the way of your mind- it was just the fact that you needed to better next time if you lost, and if you won, it was just keep it up. Even the Squad Leader, Bloodfist215, had told Konrad that they probably stood no chance either way, no matter what they had done. It made Konrad feel better, but still, it was a bit shit to know that he could have probably killed a few more of them, and the fact that was probably a lie. As that lesson ended, and Konrad left the classroom, a few others following, he headed to the Racing Department, and where his lesson of domination would take place. He was amongst the best in the class, and even though he found it easy to beat them, it was still a challenge. Despite that fact, he knew that maybe a team was the way forward, and even though today was just another day, with the same girls and same sorts of things, it was maybe time to think about getting to that stage- or else he'd probably rot his skills away.

Walking into the classroom, he found his seat, two desks from the front, and took a seat. He unpacked the rest of his stuff, and reminded himself of why this place was different. For a start, he sat in a racing seat, of all things. The room was well illuminated, but the blinds were down anyway, as the Californian sun wasn't good to have reflected off your screen. And the teacher was a legend in himself. Mr Ross was roughly 25, and was a former pupil of VGHS. He was a racing champion, years over in the professional circuit, and he was probably the best on the planet. His thin designer glasses and stubble covered up his pale face, which were clearly European. Namely, he was Scottish, and even America hadn't changed his skin color yet. But his skill was undeniable, and his teaching method was a popular one- straight to the point, and simply a recognition of survival of the fittest. Konrad was in his good books- not a teacher's pet, but he sure knew that they were nearly the same kind of people, and that they both shared the same island for a home, back where they used to live.

As the class filled up, Konrad had already set up his equipment. He viewed the race today, which had been loaded up on his monitor- it was Rally. More specifically, it was Norway, and the scene looked like it was piling down with snow and fog. This was one hell of a tricky race- when there's snow, and even with spiked tires, there's next to no grip, Konrad thought to himself. But this was what he did best- he lived for this. It had more feeling to it, and this was where a lot of noobs fell down. He just had to stay focused, get the right setup, and give it everything he had.
"Okay, class, as you can see on your screens, we're doing Rally today. Now, I expect no less than a 2:00 time, or else you can expect to be in here throughout lunch until you all you do. You'll all be using the Ford Focus WRC, so that I know that none of you can have an unfair advantage, and just to make it a little nicer, my record is 1:58 here." Mr Ross said, and most of the class groaned. They didn't want a kind of detention for that, not in the way Mr Ross did them. But Konrad knew that it was probably doable, if he tried enough. He just needed to prove it to himself, and whoever else cared. The last three lessons had been tweaking car settings, apexes and racing maneuvers, such as the Scandinavian Flick. But now it came down to this. As Konrad cracked his fingers, he checked his wheel, and pedals along with the rest of his equipment, as he leant back in the seat. A map came up, and nearly seconds later, as Mr Ross had put it up on his own interactive whiteboard, he asked a question. Konrad hadn't been paying attention, but quickly did as he was asked.
"Now....Tango, how's the best way to take that first corner?" Konrad didn't know what to say. But as he saw it, the first on his map from the clearly labeled "Start", and after a 50m straight, it was a slight right-hander. Probably a "4", or "5" (which are figures to state how tight a corner is in rallying, "1" being tightest). A bend through which if you took the apex, you'd be fine. No need to even slow down and it would just involve lifting off on the throttle a little, but just so long as there wasn't massive snowbank there. Because then it would be a much harder corner- he'd have to listen out for the co-driver's advice on that one.
"Uhh...basically, Sir, you'd take it on the apex, try and cut slightly if you can. So long as there isn't a snowbank, and you've got to go through it and keep all the momentum from the straight. It sets you up for the next "3" left hander." Konrad said, and Mr Ross clearly knew that it what he expected. Most would just say it's a flat out- but Mr Ross liked that fact that Konrad always thought it through first, and knew quickly how to get through with it.
"Exactly. But what about that "2" after that? What about braking distance?" He asked, and Konrad quickly was there.
"Simple. Just use handbrake- it normally slows you down if you skid, but you can get through that turn quicker with it, without bothering to brake." Konrad said, and in confidence, he put his headset on, aware that he had probably gotten to it. At least he thought that out, unlike back in FPS Level 2. The topic had moved on, a few others answered a few questions that Mr Ross had given them, simply based on some stuff easier than Konrad had been given to him. A TA stood watching them, and he had a PDA, similar to Konrad's in his hand. Konrad smiled, as he knew that this might be it. If this was the Captain, then he might as well have just let himself just go flawless anyway. It was probably why Mr Ross had gone for this sort of challenge- and if he wanted some good racers aboard the team, then that maybe that was why this was going on. It wouldn't be easy, by any means, but Konrad knew that if he was going to get the attention of the Captain, he'd have to do good. Because even if he had his attention, that counted for squat- if he couldn't keep it up, and didn't make it clear that he wanted to join the VGHS Racing Team, then it wouldn't be worth it. Konrad knew to himself, that now was a time to show something.

As the track finally loaded, and Konrad kept a firm grip on his wheel, he could see the interior of the car. His co-driver held some pace-notes in his hand, and was an NPC, but a reasonably realistic one. The livery of his Focus was a Monster Energy kind, something he had unlocked at a certain level of this Racing game, and it stood out- it was probably the only one that wasn't generic, because Konrad was probably one of the only people who really enjoyed using this car a lot.
"Class, you'll be running staggered starts. One every 10 seconds, and me and our Racing Captain here, will be assessing you. I want this done in complete silence, and you've only got two retries, before I keep you behind. Understood?" Mr Ross asked, and as Konrad checked his car setup, he nodded. The Focus had a low gear ratio, along with a reasonably average aerodynamics setup, set for a balanced top speed to handling. The tyres were spiked, as they had to be for Snow/Ice Rallies, and the car's differential was set loosely, allowing for a lot of oversteer. He generally preferred a skiddy car, as that way, it didn't understeer and was much less precise that way. Konrad eventually was loaded up second on the stagger, behind another Focus, and as he revved the 320bhp engine, he felt satisfied. He was in the cockpit- and what he saw was what he got. In game, he wore a helmet, and a race suit- what normally was chosen. His however, was a Monster Energy racing one, matching his car's livery, and it was something that at his level, seemed to suit him. At least this game had that small freedom of earning your style of kit.
"Good. When you're on the start, wait for green and then hit it." Mr Ross said, as Konrad waited for the person ahead to go, and kept his engine revving. It was monstrously loud through his headset, and he could feel the vibration- but he knew just what to do.

Duncan smiled as he got onto the plane. His laptop in hand and the tablet in the other. He was finally going to do something with his life, maybe it wasn't being a doctor or a lawyer but at least he would be doing something that he enjoyed. It was strange but he would miss Scotland, even though he always wanted to get out of there he was just used to it. On the flight to America he was plenty amused, his laptop playing every song on his hard drive, even touching up on his game theory. Not too much though, he was happy in simply listening to his music, and watching the occasional movie. It would take an age to get to the school, he was already late technically, he should have been there yesterday for induction but the flights wouldn't allow it, he hated airports. Hated them with a passion but hey ho what else you got to get three thousand miles in a few hours. When he landed he was greeted by a driver and began the long drive to his new school. He checked his watch, a snoopy one from the sixties, the hands being his arms and the seconds a tennis ball.

On pulling up to the school Duncan smiled, this was to be his home for the next few years of his life. Just sitting there in the car it was only the man's polite cough to tell him to get out that fazed him. He got out, his bags already taken care of, and began to walk into the school. Duncan had absolutely no idea where he was on the campus. It all looked rather daunting but it was just another challenge, it was rather amusing the looks he got carrying his now effective antique laptop around with him, he knew he would be getting a lot considering most people had customised and brutalized laptops worth many thousands of dollars. Well to be honest so was Duncan's computer was just as, if not more powerful than any of their computers. He simply smiled at them and continued. Duncan couldn't be bothered with it, he needed to find out what was going on. It was the priority here over everything else. Now, where was FPS 101?

The driver ahead went, and as Konrad took a sip of Monster, he checked his wheel. Come on, he thought to himself. This was going to be flawless. He just needed to get 1:59. And that was going to be hard, even for him- but he wasn't one to turn down a challenge.

    Roughly a Minute later

"Into six left, opens into 50 straight, crest." Konrad heard from his co-driver, and flowing out of the last corner, kept up the revs. He shifted into fifth, this section of the track quicker, and the Dubstep was nearly playing in his head. The Focus was blisteringly loud, but Konrad was in the zone- he had done roughly half of the track since starting, and this was his first run. So far, he was on track. He kept going, as he then shifted into sixth, the Focus roughly at 120mph, and this was where he made up his timings.
"Shit, that is not a crest." Konrad muttered to himself, as he saw the crest- it was more than a slight rise, and his speed was enough. When he went over, he probably got a few meters high- but it wasn't preparing him for what came next. It curved only slightly, and as soon as Konrad hit the ground, he was turning, the snow giving him limited but some grip.
"Five right, into two left, tightens into hairpin. That one was rough." The co-driver said, that last response automatic, which was something he was adding as the Focus slammed into the ground. Konrad had already hit the brakes, shifting right and then on the handbrake to drift around the two/hairpin, which he had enough momentum for. He was getting through this, fast. It had to be at least 30mph through this- in F1, that would be a tiny amount of throttle, but in this, on a surface such as unstable snow and ice, and with only 320bhp to do it with, it proved why he was this good.

"Into three right, don't cut." Konrad acted quickly as he barely pulled away from the hairpin, and taking the corner through the middle of it's apex, away from a snowbank which he was going to potentially take a line through. He was two seconds on the person he had been behind- maybe this meant something. And through the next few corners, seconds felt like minutes. The white and endless white, of the woods and snow he was driving over was beautiful, but this wasn't time to think about that.
"Three left followed by four right, 100 to finish." Konrad had already anticipated that, and as he stuck bang on the apex, he knew that he was in the zone. The car ahead was nearly miliseconds now, and that pissed him off. Come on, don't fucking slow me down, he kept thinking. His time was 1:36, 1:37, 1:38...and he was only through that three left. Come on, come on! He knew it was a risk, but through the four right, he had to do something. What he did was something he knew that normally would have probably got him- this guy was going too slow for this corner, and Konrad had double the speed, controlled however. The guy ahead had no chance for a 2:00 time, and if he didn't get ahead, then that was his time down the drain too. The driver ahead hogged the apex, and Konrad knew that it would take some act of God to really get past. But he saw a slight bank, as the four right had a small section on it's left...and Konrad knew that it was going to be his only hope. He kept up the pace, and as he pulled the handbrake, was already going too fast. He had skidded straight out, too much angle of attack. The bank was a little more than expected, and as Konrad, with futility, tried accelerating away- it didn't do, as he braced the impact. The bank was too close- and he knew what was coming.

The car flipped, and seconds later, had gone straight into a tree. In the car, it smashed up around him, and most of it was wrecked.
"Well, I fucked that one up. I guess it's one over." Konrad muttered, as he opened his interface on the game, and looking up at Mr Ross, otherwise known as Blockburn23 (Ken Block, anyone?), and the Captain, knew that he looked like an utter twat. He restarted, and found himself a clean spot. He was first on the stagger, and the rest had finished- none had come close. One had achieved 2:02, but that wasn't going to be good enough. Not for him.

A few minutes later, Konrad had started again. Through the first section of corners, he had chucked out his best. In section 2, a little worse, but it was now or never, as he went over the crest that he knew was a jump, and was turning in.
"Come on, come on!" Konrad muttered, as he turned into the hairpin, shifting down rapidly, and keeping a firm focus. Now, he really was going. Blood flowed to his brain, and he was 100% focused. The next sequence of corners passed, and as the last corner passed, his heart lept, as he knew that this was his last chance. His time he couldn't judge, but he had to keep going. As the corner was behind, and the roar of the car was getting louder and louder. 1:55, 1:56, it ticked, and sweat trickled down Konrad's forehead. And then it happened.

He crossed the line, marked out by two timing beacons, and Konrad knew he had made it. But little did he know, when he saw his time, what he had gotten. 1:57:86, nearly three tenths of a second faster than Mr Ross. And the class, who were still going, barely could believe it. Konrad had done it. By some power of will, he had gotten there. He didn't know how, but he had beaten his mentor. It automatically made him get up with hands in the air, for no apparent reason. The moment couldn't of been worse. He took off his headset, and checking the time, knew he had done it. The Captain seemed impressed, as he walked over, to look at his screen.
"Well done, Tango. I've got my eye on you. We have one space on our team, and you keep that up, you're on." He said, as Konrad turned, in his seat.
"Really? Wow, I can't believe this..." Konrad replied, as the Captain clearly knew that he was ahead of himself.
"Well, like I said. Keep it up. Don't get too far ahead of yourself. I've seen rookies get their focus demolished, but you're good to me. There's a meet in a few days time. Prove it again, and I'll know for sure that you belong on our team." He replied, and walked away, as Konrad was left in a mixture of disbelief, shock, and just anticipation. The lesson had ended, with nearly all but Konrad and another kid in detention, and Konrad was glad to get out of here, with something proved. He had dominated- and he was glad that this time round, he was the one who could be cocky. He had beaten the teacher, and that was an achievement in itself. But to be spoken to by the Captain...now that was a privilege.

    TIME SKIP

**After a few hours of classes, the school bell rung for lunch, all the students rushed and made their ways to the cafeteria which is a large futuristic styled area with holographic menu boards and glass tables or their dorm rooms to relax, the cafeteria is a great place to socialise or grab a bite to eat while of course playing more videogames which is what the students do best.**
    ------------------------------------------------

After listening to the professor for the past few hours and gradually becoming bored even though it was her favourite subject. Natasha slouched up from her desk as the school bell rung; she then looked to Turfy with a smile. "Hey lets go get something to eat" she said with a small yawn gently grabbing her things and strapping her bag over her shoulder.

Silus looked away from his screen, the hours had ticked away so quickly and he hadn't even gotten any decent experience or items. He sighed slightly and logged off everything, downed his last bit of tea and packed up. He rubbed the bridge of his slowly, his eyes slowly remembering how to work after hours of being glued to his screen. He tapped his fingers against the side of his head and his thoughts drifted slightly on to his MOBA's and even drifting far enough to think about the time he loved to play FPS's. He shook his head and focused on the present. His hands found his bag and he threw it over his shoulder. He walked over to Ota and Kai "lets go get lunch" he smiled a little, half expecting for them to wave him off so they could have lunch with out him.

“So, this is the prestigious video game high school?” Veronica mumbled, strolling up the walk to the main building. Don’t get me wrong, she was very excited about this whole experience. The problem was that she had accidently slept in, and was just now getting to the building. With a map in hand and her bags in the other, Veronica made her way to the dorms, quickly finding the room number she had written on the map. It was very decent in size to her surprise. This was great, because she would need room for all her manga. She was unpacked before long, and the room now looked almost like the one back home. “Perfect!” She shouted, marveling at her handiwork. She was rather interested in getting off to class now, but there was only one problem, it was time for lunch. Veronica realized that when the bell rang, and she couldn’t help but notice on her watch that is was just now the afternoon. Sighing for the fact that she really wanted to get some gaming done and would now have to wait, the girl grabbed her bag full of school supplies, as well as one that contained a homemade lunch. She used the map to find her way to the cafeteria, and began to look around for a table. This had to be the hardest part about the start of the school year, because where you sat would determine who you made friends with. Truth be told, Veronica didn’t know anyone here, so she just sat at an empty table. Now eating a lunch of one ham turkey and cheese sandwich, a banana, and a 16 liter bottle of chocolate milk, she sat in all her lonesome…

Alan walked into the cafeteria. He had taken his laptop back to his room, deciding against any work at lunch. Lunchtime was social time, even if he barely talked to anyone. He walked up to the left lunch-line, and ordered a bowl of beef stew, his favorite, along a baked potato and a salad. If you had the money to pay for it, the school gave you whatever you ordered, and Alan had plenty of money from students who insisted on paying him for helping them, even when he said they didn't need to.

He took a seat next to his friends from the RTS team, but then he noticed a girl sitting by herself, eating an interesting meal. He smiled a bit. She looked interesting. He stood, ignoring the glances he got from his friends, and made his way over to her. He didn't bother to ask permission to sit down, there was no one else around. "Hello." He went back to eating. In between bites, he asked, "Are you new here? I don't think I've seen you around before." He took another bite of his soup.
