Modern-day Setting - can be any actual location in our world or can be a made up city. Magic has been significantly implemented into every day life. That being said however, it is rather weak. History tells of people able to fell mountains and contain earthquakes with just their own magic - but such strength hasn't been practised in generations.
Your character is a student at a private school, one prestigious for it's graduate's magical prowess. However, your character lacks any ability with magic at all - much to the confusion of your teachers and peers... And is also surprisingly bad at making friends. [During the roleplay your character will gain the use of magic]
Your family is all but gone, you being the last remaining survivor of the long lineage. One day, you stumble upon an old scroll in your family home while cleaning, as it is being sold to cover your academic expenses. Written on it is a single sentence - a language unknown to the people of today. Once spoken aloud, it summons a significant ancestor for the past as a guardian. Of course, this privilege is not without sacrifice. Everyone who has ever spoken to, played with or even seen you on the streets forgets about your entire existence.
With the aide of your guardian, you are reborn - once again thrown into your school to face your problems.
