It has come to our attention that you are one of those fortunate enough to have been born with genes that are more evolved than those of your peers. The Government calls it mutation, but we call it evolution.

We are the Marwick Academy for Gifted Youths, an institution that has taken great honour in educating advanced individuals for the past three decades. Founded in 1982 by John A. Marwick - who remains headmaster at the institute, we aim to ensure you enter adulthood with absolute control over your abilities.

Our services are completely free, funded by the Government in a bid to ensure they do not have to deal with "mutant" mishaps in the future. So far, the scheme has worked perfectly - and so it is with great joy that we would like to formally invite you to enrol at the institute.

Due to security measures put in place by the Government to keep our students safe, the location of the institute cannot be revealed. If you are interested in learning to control your abilities - which is probably proving to be no easy feat at this difficult time of your life - then simply tear through the red strip at the foot of this letter.

In doing so, you will break the nanotechnical bond within the strip and alert us that you are in need of collecting. After tearing the strip, please pack as many of your belongings as you wish - your dormitory will have plenty of storage space. A vehicle will arrive to collect you exactly 24 hours from the moment you tore through the strip.

PLOT
About thirty years ago, people began to be born with certain 'mutations' which granted them special abilities. The Government elected John A. Marwick as Head of Mutant Affairs, stationing him as Headmaster in a top-secret school atop a mountain in an unknown location.

You are a present-day youth aged between 13 and 21 and have recently discovered that you were born with the mutation and have special abilities. As such, you have been invited to the institute to learn to control your abilities and use them to their full potential.

But not all is as it seems. Not all mutants live the long and prosperous lives promised by the Academy. In fact, some of them even disappear without any explanation; passed off as suicides or rehabilitation. Is the Academy really as benevolent as they preach, or does a darker truth lie in the heart of the institute? Only time will tell...
