Pokemon training and Pokemon battles have now been deemed as animal abuse by activists. The gyms in the Kanto region have been shut down as a result of this. Because of this, a new way of making money was thought up. Underground Pokemon battles to the death. These battles take place in empty lots, and underground clubs where people place bets on the winning Pokemon. The organizers of these death matches quickly gain enormous wealth. Gangs of hoodlums work in service of the rich men to trap and capture Pokemon so they're used in these fights. Old Pokemon trainers are forced to either give up their Pokemon, or are threatened with their lives to use them in the death matches. The police force has become useless as they're easily bribed to look the other way. Several people have stood up against the actual abuse of Pokemon and teamed up to take action against these cruel people by putting them out of business.

So there you have it. It's a pretty messed up world because of the events happening. You can choose to be one of the bad guys that helps with the underground battles, one of the good guys who tries to stop them, or somebody else. Canon characters will be allowed for those that want to use them. I think in the video, the bald guy's Giovanni. It would be great if someone decided to play him as he'll probably be the most powerful person in Kanto. And yes, this will take place in the Kanto region.

Gender: Male

Personality: Keishi is determined and jaded, from his times fighting in illegal pokemon rings. His primary concern is for himself and his pokemon, and is known to be very sarcastic towards others, which sometimes gets him in trouble.

Appearance:

Pokemon: Growlithe, Hitmonchan, Primeape

Bio: Keishi moved from the Johnto region to Kanto about a year ago, with only a young growlithe and the clothes on his back. With no money, Keishi fought in a few illegal pokemon matches, where he found himself exceptionally good at directing his pokemon in combat. His talent was spotted by a couple members of team rocket, who convinced him to fight for the group, offering him more money than he would ever make on his own. Keishi agreed and was given two more pokemon to train with, he soon developed a bond with his pokemon and they trained hard to excel in the matches, though soon the dangerous nature of the game made Keishi fear for the well-being of his pokemon, and opted out to make his own path. Team rocket doesn't seem to keen on giving up Keishi as one of their fighters however, as they have been hounding after him, attempting to pressure him to join the ring again.

Name: Red

Age: 19

Gender: Male

Personality: Usually cold and aloof, Red doesn't care much about anything. He sees the pokemon fights in the street as a joke, a mockery of the once epic and glorious contests in which he competed. He despises team rocket and all who participate in the contests.

Bio:

Red has a long list of accomplishments, ranging from the defeat of all Kanto gym leaders to his participation in solo battles against the elite four. Although he could have been crowned champion, he refused the title, vanishing shortly after defeating his rival for the last time.

After he defeated the elite four in Kanto, he chose to go into a self-imposed exile to get stronger, moving up to the peak of Mount Silver to train and become stronger. During his absence, pokemon battles were outlawed and underground street fighting became the fad. When Red finally came down from his exile, he found the world a very different place.

Unable to survive without getting his hands dirty, Red began to once again emerge onto the pokemon battling scene, using primarily his pikachu, a pokemon he'd formed a strong bond with since childhood; that pikachu would later be killed in one of the pokemon fights, which led to Red moving away from the sport, focusing more intently on the prospect of pokemon rights. No long after that, he became one of the first freedom fighters.

Personality: Kiera is a fairly quiet girl, but is a tough girl nonetheless. She is quite stubborn, and will almost always stand up for what she believes in. She saves her softer side for pokemon, having lost a fair bit of her faith in humanity once the underground competitions started. She has developed trust issues because of this.

Pokemon: 1.Spark, Pikachu. 2.Rin, Gardevoir. 3.Scar, Scizor. 4.Grit, Lairon.

Kiera was a Trainer like most other people around the world, focusing mainly on getting stronger and building better bonds with her friends. It was like this since she was very little, and once the change hit, she was heartbroken. She wasn't sure what to do at all. She loved her pokemon, and she couldn't not train them anymore.

Finally, once she'd heard about the underground matches, she'd gone to take a look. She figured that maybe she'd get a chance to train her pokemon again. Zackary grew up in the same generation as the last great masters, the days when pokemon battling was a competition of the highest caliber and people who won in the arena were well respected.

Unlike the many trainers of the time who saw pokemon as companions and cherished friends, Zackary saw them only as tools, tools to be used to further his own goals. After receiving his first pokemon at the age of ten (a ghastly), he began using it to rob stores and pharmacies, making a good living off the items he stole. During this time he also competed in pokemon battles, expanding his toolset until it had some nice variety.

At the age of 17, he was finally contacted by the biggest underworld organization of them all: team rocket. He possessed the necessary skills and ruthlessness, and was therefore inducted into its ranks. During the two years in which pokemon battling was first reformed, then outlawed, Zackary rose through the ranks, eventually becoming an enforcer; his job was to attend underground pokemon battles and make sure nothing got out of hand.

He is also responsible for managing team rocket's 'trainers' in the underground fights, making sure none of them squeel to the wrong people or ever get out of the game for good.
