Don't know how it happened. Don't really care. All I know is there is no hope for saving. No hope for closure, or safety, or help. No hope for hope. Last year was the twentieth straight year of hell. How warm, heh. It's the 20th anniversary. If someone asked me back then how life was, you know what I would say?


I would complain about how shitty everything was. The government had too much power, so did the wealthy...who was the government anyways. I would talk about the brainwashing material across the wires of media. Oh, and I can't forget the ever impending doom which was starvation of the world's population. There was no food. The soil had been polluted and who's fault was that? Our own damn fault. Who's fault was the virus? All the motherfuckers with their heads between their legs, kissing their asses goodbye. Sometimes I thank God for it all, at least now the plants grow.



In the years prior:



2014- America's debt ceiling collapses. Wall street becomes an uproar. Straight losses worse than 2008. Critics and experts call it the next Great Depression. The government fight to keep order on the streets. The suicide rate increases 24%. Unemployment rises from 12% to 49% as business scramble to downsize. More than 20% of all businesses close their doors in the coming months.



2020- America is now the 15th most powerful nation in the world. The world's population is 9 billion. Economic downfalls are a regular occurrence. World leaders become easier targets of assassination despite security upgrades. Disease increases as poverty increases. Universal crime increases by half over the past decade.



2040- World's population hits the 16 billion milestone despite crime hitting staggering numbers. Contraception is no longer practiced amongst the majority. The largest epidemic is now hunger. Cannibalism increases, 1 in 1,000 are guilty of the crime.



2060- Moon colonized. Waste management operational base on the dark side of the moon responsible for burning and releasing ashes into free flowing space. Moon population- 3 million. World population 18 billion.



2100- Moon colony expires, none survive, no other information. America now most powerful country again. Develops, "Serum." Creation unknown: widely believed to extend life without as much reliance on food. Or the possibility of population control, sterilization of patient. Or some cure for some dismal disease.



2101- Government tries to control patient's grisly side-effects country wide while keeping it secret from public. First outbreak occurs in Las Vegas (Serum testing done at Nellis). First outbreak contained.



2102- Continuation of serum causes second outbreak. Second outbreak not contained...

I'll be honest, upon reading the title I immediately thought of some generic JRPG. That said, it seems like an interesting if ambitious idea. Bottom line is, I'm interested and hope other people are too.
