Sci-fi(+fantasy) RP - Dimensional rhapsody

After many wars on Earth , a small period of peace appeared. This period however was enough for one briliant(crazy) scientist to create a "Dimensional travel engine" and mount it on an cargo ship. After the test was successful and the scientist returned , he who was till then rejected by the scientific community was now a leading genius in the field of Dimensional research.

The dimensional drive brought many things to humanity, and under the leadership of Earth Defense(ED) , they started exploring and exploiting new dimensions. Soon they rose to be a great force.

In the other part of the IDS (Inter-dimensional space) a species called elementals also had the Dimensional drive (DD) , but they didn't wish for combat or expansion , they focused on sustainable energy and research , not expanding far. Humans in the contact with them , shared their wish for peace and didn't attack them.

But , a nation from the Humans' galaxy , the Canis, also acquired the Dimensional drive , but they didn't develop it , rather they disabled a human cargo ship and captured its drive. When the Humans realized , it was too late. The Canis started spreading as well , waging war with the Humans along the borders.

Those are the main actors in the IDS , Earth defense also guards a lot of minor species , and by such creating a diverse and large union.

In the IDS humans found Antimatter in stable form , and soon the old fusion reactors were abandoned , making way for antimatter reactors. Also steel was abandoned when a new metal - duranium was found.

Soon Mars was terraformed to make space for the growing Human population , and factories were built on Venus (Well technically they are floating in the atmosphere) to increase industry. Great shipyards were built around the "Zero G" point in between Earth and Moon.

The Canis didn't have so much time , they simply overpopulated and over industrialized their home world "Imperial planet - Cania" creating a strong centralized industry , with numerous shipyards in the orbit.

Elementals , being much older then both Humans and Canis had a wide spread economy with self-sustaining low pollution industry which already mass used the clean antimatter reactors. (Only danger behind them really , is a containment rupture , leading to explosion... a big explosion however)

But Humans and Canis didn't find only useful materials in the IDS , they also found magic , real usable magic. Soon , the race to militarize it began , and recently first few magic squads were armed in the ED.

Humans also found familiar universes, as dimensions were uncovered , some were actually mere "mirrors" of the "Starting" dimension, but they were different by certain details , until someone finally found a dimension which contained "fictional" characters. Suddenly , the lost data containing "TV series" and "Manga" became important again , as some dimensions' residents showed tenacious resistance.

Now in the recent years , more and more nations make it to the IDS , either siding with the ED or the Canis empire.

After 4 years of low-tension combat the battle is ready to intensify again...


YOUR PLACE IN THE UNIVERSE:

BRIEFING:
The ED has detected an unknown DD-equipped ship , the ship is located in an highly radioactive part of the neutral zone between ED and a minor Canis-allied nation dubbed "Robots" by ED.
The ship is highly advanced but is off-line due to its reactor shutting down automatically (Probably after the crew died from radiation).
Since the ship is in the neutral zone , an ED ship could raise an unnecessary battle, that is why mercenaries would be sent in a private vessel.

Canis have surely detected the ship and will try to conduct and investigation of their own

MISSION:
1. Determine the cause of the ship's state.
2. Download all the data from the ship's computer core.
3. If possible , conduct emergency repair on the ship and secure it for the ED
4. If salvage isn't possible , destroy the ship with all of its contents.
5. Hinder all Canis attempts of investigation.

RISK LEVEL & BACKUP:

Encounters with hostile entities: 80% chance

PAYCHECK:
Upon completion these amouts would be awarded to each person:
1. Mission complete: 1,000,000 Cr
2. Ship salvaged bonus: 500,00 Cr
3. Kill bonus per Canis ship: 10,000 Cr

Just to note , magic and technology are both avabile , OC's aren't necessary if you can RP the characters well.
You would be a mercenary accepting the mission.
