We expect civility from our contestants, but never a submission. You still have a day, and there is always future contests!

You have until the vote thread goes up. So the rest of today, all of tomorrow and maybe a little bit of Saturday, depending on when Managment gets to posting on that day. What does that mean to you? Well, Managment might post the vote thread up as early as Friday at Midnight or as late as Saturday Afternoon. Don't count on having that leeway, but some people have gotten lucky.

I believe the rules are that you're not allowed to submit pre-written works, such as fanfics, but instead have to write a new piece specifically for the 'theme' of the week. It can be annoying, because I've come across themes in the past and gone 'Man, this story I wrote half a year ago would be -perfect- for this!'. But I think in the spirit of fairness, everyone is given two weeks to write, edit and proof-read their story. If half of the entrants were simply submitting works they'd written previously, that's somewhat unfair on the other half who have to do twice as much work.

I'm also not sure if it's a rule, but I believe writings based on existing canon are also frowned upon, so a story based on the Dragon Age universe might also be inadmissible. I'm not 100% on that one, though, so I may be wrong.
Don't forget to vote in the Writer/Artist of the Month competitions!
Many thanks to Mayhem for the awesome signature!

People have to create for the contests. It's in the rules.

    Rules and Guidelines
All submissions for WOTM should be written specifically for the contest and not something you have done in the past.

This is wrong, however. Canon is perfectly fine. It's always been okay, provided the components are met.

Well, no. That's not absolutely true either. There was the Friendship contest where we banned any entries from having ponies. For obvious reasons.

Aside from that though, Dudel is right. Unless otherwise noted you can write fan fiction, create original content, do a mix of both, etc, so long as it conforms to the rules and guidelines of the contest and of RPG, and the theme and components for that month.
