Well, no. That's not absolutely true either. There was the Friendship contest where we banned any entries from having ponies. For obvious reasons.

Aside from that though, Dudel is right. Unless otherwise noted you can write fan fiction, create original content, do a mix of both, etc, so long as it conforms to the rules and guidelines of the contest and of RPG, and the theme and components for that month.

This made me giggle.

Did you actually have to say that in the Guidelines thread? Just goes to show you a few things about this community.

Not until a week after the voting period is over for this theme. I'm not sure of the exact date, but I'm sure you'll see it when it is. It will also be put in the WOTM account's signature.
