    General Information:
The region of Varisain is a rich trading region that is ruled over by a collection of ten Counts. Each Count controls his own region and can impose his own laws to a certain degree. While each Count may move to shape his land and the people that live within it, there are certain laws and customs that are written in stone for every region such as the standard do not murder, do not steal, etc.

    Slavery:

Slavery is still a practiced principle of trade in Varisaen, but slave are often seen as servants rather than propriety. They do receive a wage, however it is as low as 20% what a true worker would receive, and are often restricted in what they can learn or apprentice. While the murder of a slave is still considered damage to property, some house still find pleasure in degrading acts and are legally allowed their fill. A slave is never to have a child with higher status than that of a Commoner. Currently, Half-races and Beastfolk are the majority of the slave population.

    Social Standing: (Highest to Lowest)

Empire Blood: Member that can clearly show blood history with great unifier Soluses. To insult or question the word of one deemed Empire Blood will almost certainly end in death. They act as the advisors to Emperor, and are in charge of Dukes and Counts. They are Elven and Human.

Dukes and Counts: The second highest wrung are the rulers of the regions themselves. They can expect any of a lower rank to adhere to their words. However in trying times, rebellion and riots have led the people to overthrown particularly sadistic or stupid Counts.

Advisors to Counts: These men and women are often gifted with magical abilities. They are required to be well versed in nearly every law, custom, House head, trade negation, current languages, and the personal matters of their Masters.

House Merchants: These people over see the business of Counts or their chosen few; as such they have addition routes and option available for trading. They often live rich and lavish lives, yet are required to deal with the political maneuvers caused by Advisors to Counts.

Merchants: These people are a step below House merchants and strive all their life to raise their status upward. They are required to be cunning, ruthless and keep a smile on their face. They are unable to order anyone other than commoners with petty manners. They are not allowed to carry weapons.

Soldiers/Gaurds: They are given status above skilled workers and commoners, are police their area to ensure the laws are being followed. They are able to carry weapons.

    Commoners: -----------------------------------------------------------------

Slaves: Name states their status, they are not allowed to carry weapons or wear blue, red, or yellow cothing.

    Population:

The population of Varisaen is mixed between Humans, Dwarves, Elves, Beastfolk, and Gobliniods. In the larger cities however, Humans and Dwarves are most often seen. The woods and forest tend to be the home of the naturalist Elves, mostly Wood-Elves although Half-Elves are rarely accepted by eleven families. The Beastfolk are rulers of the Marshlands, even having an official Count to watch over them. The Gobliniods however are vastly distrusted by all, and tend to have great numbers on the Cinderlands. It is rumored that Drow have taken hold of vast cities underneath the great mountian ranges, but Dwarves are quick to say it is only Golbin nonsense.
