Karo had awoken at early sunrise and went outside the den. He was at the point of pride rock. He was making a decision about his cubs. One of them would have to take his place someday. Fiona, Armin. I can't decide. He decided to think about some more later and climbed down from the pride rock and into the pridelands. He began his daily patrol, making sure everything was running smoothly.

Fiona was chasing a butterfly all over the pridelands, giggling.

Armin sat down in the grass as he watched his sister play.

(In the Darklands)

Kalila was looking over at the pridelands from a distance. She was jealous of them. They had all the prey in the world while she, her daughter and her pride members lived on mice and lizards.

Kia was watching a mouse's movements and when it came over to her, she slapped a paw down on it. She picked it up and dropped into her mouth. She chewed it then swallowed it. "I'm good."

(Elsewhere)

A young lion was walking and was needing a friend. He never showed it though. He spotted a lizard and stalked it for he was hungry. This lion was only a cub and was hunting this lizard by himself. This cub's name was Dago.

Artemis walked through the outlands. It was dark and gloomy and terrible for food. It short it sucked. She grabbed a nearby root that was sticking out and tugged at it. It wasn't meat but it was something to eat. As it came loose she laid down and knawed on it.

Amaryllis was lying on a large rock, taking in the wonderful afternoon sun. She opened her eyes and looked out over the land, and saw a small cub stalking a lizard. She gave a slight smile, and turned her attention elsewhere. She closed her eyes and fell asleep.

Amazi stalked things through the grass. She put her paw over a bug, and let it go. She spotted a butterfly in the edge of her vision, then roared un-menacingly, jumping for it and proceeding to fail and hit her head on a rock. "Ouch." She looked up on the rock and saw a lioness sitting on it.

Dago continued to hunt his lizard and when he got close enough, he pounced at it. He failed at catching it though, but didn't give up and chased it again. He pounced on it again and missed. He then tried it a third time and finally caught the lizard. "Gotcha!" He said excitedly and bit into the lizard's head. He then began eating the rest of it.

(in the pridelands)

Karo saw his daughter and son, Fiona was playing while Armin sat in the grass. He walked up to his son. "Why aren't you playing with her?" He asked.

"I don't want to get dirty." Armin said.

"You need to play, it'll come in handy when you get older." Karo told him.

"Okay, I'll go play with her." With that Armin ran over to his sister and playfully pulled on her tail.

"Hey!" Fiona shouted and turned to see her brother. "Armin, what are you doing?"

(In the Darklands)

Kalila was tired of this life where they had little food, little water. It was awful. Someday she would kill the king and his cubs and take over Pride Rock. She walked over to her daughter. "Have you been training?" She asked.

"Yes, mother." Kia replied.

[Iccriss]

Amaryllis looked down from her slumber and saw yet another cub playing by the rock. She wondered if they were both rogue like her, or just wandered too far from the pride. "Young one, do you have any family?" She decided to ask the cub.

[Hoofprint]

Kane, one of the Darklands few lions was on parole of the lands. He passed clumps of dead grass, kicking over an ant hill as he casually marched along a set routine. Passing the same dead tree that he did the day before, the young male gave an audible sigh, scratching his jaw and blinking several times. Where was the inspiration in a dying plant? What kind of romance could bloom in a world where the sky was always dark? How could he impress Kenya if the world he lived in was so dreary.
"I just wish I could find the right thing to say..." Kane said, placing his head in his paw.

Amazi looked up at her, head tilted. "No. I don't." She replied, jumping onto the rock.

Artemis got up and spat out the root. she got up she couldn't stay here and do nothing. She headed out toward the pridelands. She could sneak over and hunt an antelope before any one saw. Perfect! She went across her side and settled in the grass near the border. She would wait for a little then go and hunt.

Amaryllis studied the cub. Very young to be on her own, she thought. "Are you hungry? We can go hunting if you'd like." At her words her stomach answered with a big rumble.
