Hey guys, if you like my dry, sarcastic wit, y'know what might be a good use of three bucks? Buy my book.
I haven't particularly researched a disorder, so never referred to them. I do have characters with weird habits and quirks. I don't particularly plan it all specifically though. If I do it'll come of very plastic.
we have such sights to show you
In real life i am absolutely insane about having things even. I'll be eating dinner and then count how many times i chew the food on the right side of my mouth then chew it the same number of times on the other side. Pretty sad huh? Also random question how do I make a spoiler button?

-The Foxtrot is quite difficult for me-
@Mimosa: Sounds like you're missing the entire autism spectrum and histrionic as well as narcissistic personality disorder. There's still work to do for you!
As for myself, my characters tend to be professionally obsessed in one way or another. Solving crimes, treating diseases, bringing justice, you name it, but there's usually some intense interest in there. Pathological curiosity and a disreguard for common courtesy are distressingly typical, too. I have a soft spot for schizoid/autistic traits, too.
As far as quirks are concerned, I usually just give minor stuff. Cognitive quirks are the most interesting (I have a character who gets angry when the events around her don't make for a good story) but there's also compulsive diary-keeping or typical stress signs, like fiddling with one's glasses.
Realism in role-playing is always illusory. The only thing that differs between games is the will save DC.
My characters tend to be batshit crazy(Strength/weakness), or have some really odd quirk.
Like one, where he came from - he had something really wrong with him, and couldn't comprehend the concept of 'ground' to the point he either referred to it as brown sky, or just couldn't see it at all. It was really off the wall and worked - especially since he was hyperactive and thought he was flying all the time.
Well, Chartose the elf had a nearly inappropriate relationship with his horse, and flirted and/or sexually harassed a peaseant-girl in exile. Otherwise he was a deredere archer-Lancer that qualified as a glass-jawed lightning-bruiser.
For Marlene Abdelkadar, I inverted Chartose's character completely. Her stead (a mech) is given minimal maintnance just to keep it operating effectively (and thought nothing of simply cannibalizing her mech to make a new one), generally saw being flirtacious as quite sinful, and had a stalker-ish Tsundere crush on a rich american multi-trillionaire playboy. Her fighting-style relied less on speed, accuracy or even superior firepower as simply getting to the right place at the right time first and unseen. This was challenge by her apparent 'crush' having a nearly identical specialty, but much neater gadgets.

Another character I had was supposed to be a mute. Instead, I had him reffer to every sentient as 'sir' and talked exclusively in third-person.

Oh yeah--- I don't watch anime or anything that often but I ran into this guy who would refer to anyone but himself as "it" I'm pretty sure he got it from a show...?
Was kinda strange and creepy-- but really kinda interesting. >_>
Something personal-- Welllll I have a slight form of Synesthesia my brain personifies smells xD I'd like to experiment with the other forms too in my characters.
Smelling numbers
hearing colors
colored numbers
etc etc
Check it out. It's kinda strange and harmless. At least that's what I tell myself.

True, true...but Drone was asking about things that weren't "normal".
I wouldn't call being autistic anything freakish. And I mean yeah, borderline personality disorder isn't all that "freakish" either, but have you ever lived with one? F*ckin scary.
