Luke woke up with a start at the sound of Sam's voice, and silently cursed him, not only for waking him from the most beautiful dream, but also for scaring the crap out of him.
He had gone to bed relatively late last night, as he had been reading through the manuals by the fire-light. However, he didn't regret that, as he now felt that he had a lot better understanding of how he could set up the panels most strategically.

But this morning, Luke knew that he would be going out, so he had to stop thinking about the electricity, and start to focus on his survival. He pulled on some clothes and crawled out of his tent, grabbing his rucksack and weapons. 'Mornin' Sam...' he stretched out, rubbing his eyes.

Ivan sat up when Sam's voice came. He groaned, wanting to go back to sleep. But he also enjoyed going outside, so he crawled out of the tent, holding onto his baseball bat already. Hopefully they'd encounter something he could smash. He took a look at Sam and Luke.

"This should be a fun day."

A smile was showing on his face, the evidence of excitement for the chance of something happening.

Will turned over onto his back and stared at the roof of his tent. He stared at it for a moment trying to work up enough will power to climb out of his tent. Sam was yelling for everyone to get up so Will reluctantly pulled himself out of his tent. He usually slept without his boots on so he stepped out onto the cold floor. “Dang, this floor’s cold, someone want to get me my slippers?” His joke wasn’t received very well by the rest of the group, most of who were still climbing out of their tents. Will reached back into his tent for his socks and boots and slipped them on. He looked over at Sam who was still waiting for everyone to get out of their tents. “Hey Sam, since you woke us up today I think you should make breakfast. We like pancakes!”

Sophie was already wide awake and halfway done with her morning warm-up when she heard Sam's wake-up call. She couldn't sleep that night, the thought of a group of the survivors risking themselves gathering supplies always sets her stomach aflutter. Rare were the days when the groups arrived back to camp without the need for medical aid and it would only be a matter of time before one of them gets grievously harmed.

All this doom and gloom so early in the morning Sophie? Come on, cheer up. Sophie mentally shook of her worries and marched off purposely towards where the others are starting to gather.

Sam looked at the group of people gathered. Luke, Will, Ivan and Sophie, namely.

"Ok guys, we're having a slight change with the raid group today. I want Will, Ivan, Luke, Sophie, El - if she ever wakes up - and... That should be it. We'll leave Laura to look after the kids, she's a capable fighter, but I've got a bad feeling about this and want the medics, just in case."

He looked around the room. "We'll get something to eat on the way, there's still a food store we haven't fully cleared out. Everyone ready?" He said, not really caring about the answer. He knew everyone would come so simply walked towards the exit.

Sophie ditched her warm up, the last portion being a jog around the tents upon hearing her role, and scrambled to find the travel first aid packs she set aside for raids. Having grabbed the two kits; leaving one by El's area of the tent and shouldering her own, Sophie made her way to where Sam was. Sophie was grateful for the chance to tag along with the group, she had been turning all night, thinking of what could happen and also about what the boys would grab in their rush to get medical supplies. There have been times when the stuff Sophie asked for were not the stuff she received. At least with her going along, she would be able to personally select the much needed supplies.

"Hey Sam, Luke, Ivan, Will....how are you guys this morning?"

“Ugg” was Wills response to Sophie’s question. Will was not a morning person nor had he ever been one. Will checked over his personal items that he would be bringing. His axe which was held together with duct tape needed to be sharpened but it was ok. His pistol was clean and ready for use at any time but only in an emergency. Will checked his backpack which was as usual empty. Not that it really mattered since he would need all the space he could get to carry supplies. Will walked up to Sam and in a quiet voice asked “Do you really want to bring the medics with us on this one? I mean when people go out they can get hurt. What happens to us if we lose the medics?”

Sam listened to Will thoughtfully before pausing. He looked away from Will, a glazed look in his eyes. "I know it's risky, but I have a really bad feeling about this. I dunno, you ever have that feeling that someone's gonna get hurt real bad? I can't call off the raid though, we'll starve." He frowned, he really didn't want to go through with this. "That's why I'm bringing the medics, if someone gets hurt on site they'll be able to deal with them as quickly as possible."

He turned away from Will, falling into step next to Sophie. "I'm good, well, as good as you can expect me to be." He said, forcing a chuckle. "What about you? You sleep well, sweetheart?"

Luke smiled at Sophie, stretching out, 'Umm, okay, thanks,' he said quietly, ensuring that his crossbow was set up correctly. He felt a strange buzz that could only mean that they were going out into a dangerous area.
In fact, just the presence of the medics was kind of unnerving. Did they know something he didn't?

Luke tried to calm himself down, convincing himself that it was just in case someone else fell over. This made him laugh weakly, as he took his position near the back of the group. He felt safer here. He was usually further away from any action, and had time to prepare. Of course, if they were attacked from behind, he didn't stand a chance. But that was unlikely.
Luckily, his positioning meant that he didn't hear Sam and Will's conversation, not that it mattered anyway. He was too busy working himself up to listen.

Ivan twisted the bat in his hands, rotating it in a circle every once in a while. He stepped closer to the front of the group, near Sam, swinging the bat over his shoulder, while he listened to what he was saying.

Two medics? A bit risky to lose one of them. There's always a possibility.

He shook out of his thoughts, hearing Sophie saying his name.

"I'm alright," he muttered in a low voice. "Like always."

He turned his full attention back to Sam, a bit worried about the group. Just when he mentioned it, a bad feeling started to crawl in his gut as well. He worried greatly about the group, especially the medics. They were the only ones who were capable of treating them out of the crap they get themselves into, and couldn't afford to lose them. He frowned, not liking the idea, but guess he couldn't do much about it. So he took a quick dash to his tent and picked up a backpack for storing the supplies they'll take, and returned to his spot close to Sam.

"Ready," he whispered as an answer to Sam, but he was aware that only himself could hear it. He didn't care, they would go either way. There was no choice unless they want to rot inside the supermarket.
