    The Story of Tamriel

Emperor Saul Mede sat at his throne in the Imperial Palce in the Imperial City. Slowly, one by one, he plucked grapes from the vine and placed them in his mouth. He swished them between his teeth pretending it the head of a High Elf. Recently his brother, Titus Mede II, was murdered by the Dark Brootherhood leaving Saul in charge of the Empire. This was a title Saul didn't want at all. The Empire was in crippling condition after the Great War and this Civil War in Skyrim wasn't any better. Most of his forces were in Skyrim to try and hold onto the small amount of provinces that were under his control. This left his Empire in a weak state that would allow anyone to charge in and take over Cyrodiil in a good month or two. At this point, Saul almost wanted to go to Skyrim and solve the problem himself. That of course is how his brother died however.

An advisor enter the elegant and royal throne room and approached the Emperor. He was a small man, brown hair, weak looking, in fine noble clothes but dirt on his face. He knelt at Saul's throne and looked up at him with big, filthy eyes. "Emperor Saul! Oh great one who needs not dragon blood to rule a nation! I bring important news! If.. If I may speak it." Saul stared the man down for a good minute or two then finally jerked his head in an upward motion. The man rose and spoke quickly. "Oh great Emperor! Alduin the World Eater is dead! A Dovakin has slain him! We can now focus all our military forces on Skyrim!" Saul was not pleased.

"What do you think we are doing?!" Saul's voice echoed through out the large empty palace walls. "My brother had poured his heart into reclaiming the Empire to its former greatness and when I took throne I continued what he started! Leave! And be greatful you exit with your head!" Saul pointed at the Imperial guards guarding the room and they dragged the man away.

He had a point though. Alduin was gone and that was one thing off of Saul's list. More importantly there was a Dragonborn somewhere and that was a threat to Saul's throne. Or maybe a blessing.

King Ramon of Hammerfell sat upon the golden throne of his palace. The guards stood at the ready, and a messenger was currently addressing him. He was bored to tears. The messenger was rambling on about dragons being defeated and the emperor assassinated, but it's not that he cared. He tossed the messenger a Golden Septim, and waved him away. He was tired of messengers, but this had to be done. His friend and correspondent, the count of Anvil, had told him the emperor was desperate for friends. And while Ramon remembered the Empire's abandoning of Hammerfell, he needed allies as much as the emperor. The elves were getting more aggressive, and he was surrounded on every border by Imperials. He would sleep safer at night knowing he could count the emperor as an ally, so he had sent his cousin Rodrick as a royal emmisary to the Imperial city. The diplomatic meeting would take place in a week, and hopefully it went well. Ramon chewed on an orange thoughtfully, while thinking of the days to come.

Queen Amora had just ascended to the throne of Valenwood after the death of the previous ruler, some people thought there was some foul play going on but no body liked the old ruler because he did not pay attention to his subjects and blindly followed the Thalmor. The new ruler did not plan on making either mistake. Amora had to support the Thalmor on the outside but inside she hated what it had become. What was once meant to lead the Elves out of oppression and into a Golden Age had become a corrupt and violent organization that crushed everyone under its heel. This was not the goal of the Thalmor, this was not the dream that the Thalmor. Amora prayed daily to Y'ffre and Auri-El, for guidance and strength to remake the Thalmor in the image it was meant to be.

Emperor Saul sat in his throne, bored. He was always the lazy sibling out of him and his brother Titus. Once Titus rose to power Saul had moved into the Imperial Palace and took full advantage of its services. The finest foods, the softest clothing, the most elegant of views from his balcony. And all the while his brother was off in Skyrim trying to stop a blood thirsty war. Now the responsibilitys were on Saul, and he really wasn't fit for the job. If it wasn't for the panicked state the Empire were in, he would of turned down his right to the throne. But no, the people that once trusted his beloved brother were counting on him to make it better and he couldn't dare should his face in Cyrodiil if he flat out rejected they're cry for help.

Saul had assigned a new general to take charge of the Skyrim conflict and assigned General Tullius to leader of the Imerpiral City watch guard. This new general was more aggressive and would not stand back and watch his forts be overrun by ignorant Nords. No, General Quam was a man of action. His first order of business after being assigned to Skyrim was to lead on assault on Riften. This was no time for fun and games.

Meanwhile in Cyrodiil, however, a straggly looking advisor was being escorted to the Imperial throne by guards. He was not the usual advisor that brought news to the Emperor. No, he was a Redguard who looked like he had been through quite a rough journey to get here and had a long way to get back. Without a word he presented a scroll to Saul which the Emepror greedily took and unrolled.

A treaty between Hammerfell and the Empire? This was quite interesting but would surly invoke a Thalmor attack. Saul saw no reason that the Redguard should be a threat, certainly over the High Elves. If anything were to be agreed upon, it would have to be kept secret. With a strong voice Emerpor Saul declared to the advisor "Tell your king that any relations between our country's would provoke more deaths than save lives. If he truly wishes to side with the Empire, whether mutually or to join it again, it must be kept secret to all but us, our advisors, and any other high ranking offical. The Eight bless our nations souls if the Thalmor find out.

    The Diplomat bows.
Of course, most noble Emperor. Perhaps we could negotiate a trade agreement before any "secret pact" is signed? the first step to an alliance is profitable trade, as I am sure you know sire.
the diplomat had been through quite a trip, and had almost been killed by bandits. Luckily, he managed to make it their relatively unscathed. He scratched his sores upon his shoulder relentlessly as he awaited an awnser.

Amora thought for a long time, she needed a secure location and someone she could trust, the only place in the palace that did not have a high density of guards was her bed chambers, and the only person she could truly trust was Akira, her once-playmate and now advisor. Gathering her courage she called for Akira to meet her in her personal bed chambers, it was a strange request but the only way she could make sure that no one was listening.

When Akira arrived Amora shut the doors and the windows, Akira seemed to look different to the way she usually did, less professional than normal. "I know why you called me here" Akira said with a smile, it caught Amora off guard. "You do?" She asked, rather surprised, Akira nodded, the smile was a smile Amora had never seen before and she could not place it. "Well it shall help with the explaining then" Amora said before Akira moved closer to Amora. "I need you to get someone to the imperial palace in Cyrodil, and make sure they have rank. We need the emperor to listen to us and make sure he will act when we need him to" Amora said with a fluttering heart and it was Akira's turn to look surprised. "What? Why are you trying to do that?" Akira asked, her face full of confusion.

Amora looked at Akira for a second before speaking. "You said you knew why I called you here" She said, returning the surprised tone. "I must have thought it was for something..." she stalled on the word for a second before getting it out "Else" she said finally, blushing brightly. "Well then I shall give you the short version. I need to bring down the Thalmor" she told Akira bluntly, if Akira looked surprised before she looked dreadfully shocked now.

Emerpor Saul looked at the advisor in disgust. "You dare question me?" He then procceed to stand from his throne and walk slowly to the Redguard. He then got face to face with the man. He smelled of dirt and fear. My nation. MY nation. Do you hear a you in there? No, you shouldn't at least. You are lucky that it was a wise idea that slipped out of your mouth or getting back to Hammer fell would of been the least of your problems. You are banished from Cyridiil. Tell your king that we shall agree upon a trade agreement via messengers and if he insists on sending advisors instead, anyone but you." Saul sized the advisor up from where he stood an inch away from his face then walked away. With a swipe of his hand the guards escorted Redguard out of the nations borders. He sat back in his throne. Saul was a lazy bastard, he'd admit that, he didn't want the title of Emperor but he knew his place as ruler and didn't take anything below it.

After several hours pasted, it was night already and Saul retreated to his chambers. A large king sized bed, sheeted with the finest silk the Empire could acquire, was calling his name. As he removed his crown and royal robes and replaced them with more casual yet still fine sleeping clothes, he heard a knock at his door. "I am done for today. Let it wait til dawn." "But Emeror! I have news from Valenwood!" Saul immediately opened the door. An Imerpial guard stood next to a noble Wood Elf ready to state their case.
