Hmmm I really like the concept of making our own characters, but it's ultimately more so up to you ^^!

Own characters it is. I was thinking a male/female duo. I was want to be the female, if you wished to be a female as well what we could do is make two characters one of each gender.

As for the time period let's say.... The original time period though I enjoy the steam punish ness of Korra's time, I can't get over the wonderful simplicity of the originals c:

Age: 19

Nationality: Fire Nation

Bending power (if any): fire bending

Personality: calm, obedient and quiet. But she does have her rebellious moments.

Bio: Gage is the only child of the current firelord. He is extremely protective of her but uses her, as she sees, as a pawn. Around her neck she wears the blue engagement necklace from a water tribe's man, she never loved and plans to never love. Their engagement was to merely create a better bond between the two nations.

Gage Often secretly leaves the comfort of her own home to walk the land of the fire nation that is not protected by a powerful father. She wishes to travel, and not for business purposes.

Name: Athha

Age: 20

Nationality: Water Nation (Northern Water Tribe)

Bending power (if any): Water bending with knowledge of healing.

Personality: Serenity and gentle. These are the traits that are locked behind his stoic face. Athha has made a point to stay reserved and guarded when in contact with his fellow water tribe friends. However, though his remarks may be brisk and perhaps abrasive, he does it out of care.

Bio: Athha was born into a family of healers that resided within the walls of the Northern Water Tribe. Initially, like the other young boys of the city, he wanted to join the warriors to defend their way of life and city. However, as a year went by, he knew that the warriors life wasn’t for him.

Through the misgivings of his comrades and Commander, he left and went to his father whom took him back and taught him the fundamentals of art of healing. It was a different to fighting in so many respects. While the warriors had taught him how to control and be one with the water, to make it an extension of himself, the healing path taught him control, yet with enough precision to disperse his chi into the water to heal that of the wounded.

Ever since his tutelage under his father, he has continued to practice this art, and once again joined the forces of the water tribe, but instead of fighting, he remained as the healer of the wounded.

Other: From an outing one night when he was a kid, Athha came across a arctic fox pup. He, under much imploring of his parents, has cared for it until present day.

Don't worry about it. I think a good place to start would be northern water tribe. Gage could be meeting with her betrothed and Athha, well he lives there, so that's why he is there :P I'll start the IC
