Cue BGM...
In the city of Mitakihara, there were Puella Magi. There were also Witches, though both of these things could be said about all places. However, Mitakihara eventually suffered from one thing the rest of the world didn't.
Walpurgisnacht.
It brought forth massive destruction and slaughtered hundreds of thousands of people, but the five Puella Magi in Mitakihara fought bravely to defeat it. They won, but none lived to see the next day. It wasn't a matter of becoming a Witch, either; they suffered fatal wounds from Walpurgisnacht. Naturally, most humans didn't know how to explain it, and it was called a natural catastrophe in its mass media coverage.
This was several months ago, and Kyubey - the Incubator behind those five - is still running about, making more Puella Magi. He's the only one alive (save a few Puella Magi who caught wind of it) who knows what happened in Mitakihara, but this nearby and similar city is fated to have an equally severe problem. It's unknown when, and unknown exactly where, but a Witch just as powerful as Walpurgisnacht will manifest, and only Kyubey would know, if anybody at all did. It's name is Lilith.
The very first Puella Magi. The very first Witch.
Cue BGM...
1: You're a Puella Magi (or if you're a GM, you might also be a Witch or Kyubey *points at Oblivion*) and you're only as powerful as one could be. Remember, you can (and probably will at the end) die, or fall into despair and become a Witch yourself. In that case, feel free to register for another Puella Magi, presuming you don't intend to horde Witches.
2: Don't be like Homura. And I mean that in numerous ways. No time-travel, obviously, but also try to avoid being mean to other RPers and try to not be hostile with your fellow Puella Magi. Hating Kyubey is fine, though, presuming you have reason to.
3: Don't be Madoka. If you wish to eradicate all Witches, Kriemhild will strike you down from alternate dimensions. And Kriemhild scares me, so let's not bring her into this.
4: Until further notice, Oblivion Ascent becomes the GM every Sunday, with PsychoScythe acting as co-GM.
More rules can and probably will be added by myself or Oblivion, but we'll be sure to keep you updated!
Cue BGM...

Right, that should about do it. I'll bet Oblivion will be surprised to see this much progress when he gets back
Name: Izumi Izumi
Age: 11
Wish: Izumi Izumi wished to be able to help her dad, and such a wish granted her arms, in which she could do the same things as he did.
Despair: By the laws of equivalent exchange, by getting herself arms, she would have had to take them from someone else. Her father was caught in an accident with a combine harvester, and died in a particularly gruesome manner.
Bio: Izumi Izumi was born with a birth defect that ended up with her having stumps where her arms were. Shortly after, her mother left her father, not wanting to be associated with an imperfect child, and her father inherited the farm of his own father alone, working on the fields doggedly in order to provide for a disabled daughter. In her childhood, Izumi never truly realized the disadvantage in her lack of arms. She worked around it, and as a child, she never had to do much anyways. She was homeschooled and didn’t meet many people, isolated in the property of her father. He was protective of her, but at the same time, ashamed of her, of having a girl who had to take off her shoes to eat, of having a daughter that couldn’t hug him back, that didn’t understand how cruel the world could be to those that seemed weak. He taught her the best he could, but he had to live. They still had to eat. He couldn’t do too much, or he wouldn’t reach the crop quota required to have enough to buy meat and pay the bills. It was grim, trudging existence where, despite how much land they had, they were still regularly dipping into their savings to survive. If she had arms, she could eventually go to public school. Except she didn’t have them, and out of fear for what the neighbors would say, out of fear for being pitied, her father kept her home.
She stayed that way for much of her childhood, never having a friend, yet never feeling lonely because of it. She had her father, and that was all that was required for her daily happiness. You couldn’t miss what you never had, after all. She never had friends, so she never felt sad because she didn’t have them. She never had arms, so she never felt bad because she didn’t have them. She never had a mother, so she never thought that mothers existed. So sheltered she was from the outside world that Izumi didn’t even think that a white, talking animal was strange. She didn’t even doubt its ability to make wishes come true. She didn’t think anything of what the creature may want in return. She just made a wish to be able to help her father, and obtained her arms and a Soul Gem. On that same day, before he could see the miracle that graced his daughter, her father died in a freak accident involving a combine harvester. It was a scene that should have came from horror movies, and it could be considered a mercy that Izumi did not see the end of her father.
The white ‘thing’, named ‘Kyubey’, brought her out of the countryside. That white thing guided her into the city. That white thing taught her how to properly use her arms. That white thing taught her the value of money. That white thing taught her so many things about the outside world that Izumi managed to convince herself that she was helping her father by leaving him alone so that he only needed to care for himself. But what she didn’t know was that the white thing was only ‘investing’. A Puella Magi is useless if they died before they became a witch. So it was careful. It calculated just the right amount of time to introduce Izumi to the nightmares that were Witches, and chose a weak one as well. It chose to bring up the fight so that, if she didn’t kill the witch, she’d still have enough power to run away, but in doing so, she’d pollute her Soul Gem enough that she would also become a Witch.
It turned out, however, that Izumi didn’t need to run away. It turned out that when you were armless, and suddenly given arms once more, it was suddenly so much easier to hit things, and that the by-product of her wish gave her a power that was really quite fun to play with.
She eventually forgot about the father that she didn’t really remember.
She eventually enrolled in a public school.
She eventually had friends.
She saved lots of people.
And it was all thanks to Kyubey~!
Personality: Izumi, still eleven years old, is an innocent, hard-working girl who, like all girls her age, likes cute things. She likes to play, she likes to do good work, and she enjoys praise. She can even accept criticism, and her view of the world is rose-tinted. A little air-headed at times, Izumi likes catchy Korean pop songs even though she has almost no idea where Korea is, and wants to be, like most girls her age, an idol, with millions of fans and a wardrobe of cute frilly clothes. She’s often called the perfect embodiment of a shoujo protagonist, even though she’s too young to fully understand romance. Either too young, or too immature. Hopelessly childish, even in the face of authority, Izumi can be considered stupid by the cynical, but then again, all she wants to do is have F~U~N~!
Weapon: Izumi Izumi’s weapons are her arms. More specifically, it’s what she can do with her arms that are her weapons. Her arms are capable of becoming tendrils of metal, uncoiling into dozens of flexible blades that can rip many, many things into shreds. They can combine into one massive blade. They can separate into dozens of individual blades. They can weave together to create a shield or a net. They can extend limitlessly. Their sharpness is comparable to surgical scalpels. Their durability is comparable to the hardest swords. It can be said that fighting Izumi is not a pleasant pastime.
Labyrinth: Calling Izumi’s Labyrinth a Labyrinth would be funny. Really, really funny. Because it isn’t a labyrinth. It doesn’t even have the pretension of being mildly complicated. The Witch sits at the back of a small room, on a purple throne. The room itself explodes psychotically with flashing neon colors, full of disorientation. Arms and hands are everywhere, clogging up even the air itself. The ground is an everchanging bog, growing deeper and deeper as you approach the Witch. It is a close-quarters hell, where if the Puella Magi isn’t fully prepared for combat the moment they step in, they will be quite easily dispatched of.
Other: She has a small crush on Kyubey, but like hell that’s ever going to be reciprocated.
Normal
Magical Girl
Witch
Name: Katherine Hartkins
Age: 15
Wish: She wished... for the ability to forge her own path to happiness.
Despair: There is no meaning to anything, and any meanings possible are simple self-dillusion. Essentially, understanding the concept of reality itself automatically renders life pointless.
Bio: Her father left before she knew him; that was not a problem, for she loved her mother and would've given her life for the woman. Truthfully, there were multiple people in her life that she loved and cherished. But, there was one thing that completely and totally destroyed her ability to have a normal life; communication. When she was born, she had Cleft Lip and Pallet - essentially, her mouth and nose were one gaping hole.
Countless surgeries slowly fixed this, but in the meantime, school became an indeterminable hell - she developed anger and self-control problems, and retreated within herself. At one point, she even had a tutor and went to a counseler.
But then, she discovered the internet. Such a novel thing - it allowed to communicate perfectly, to discuss things with people. And sos he spent more and more time on it. And with the internet, came concepts and experiences that most children could barely even understand, much less actively ponder.
The universe was simply a countless amount of atoms. Of tiny little things. Living creatures were controlled by invisible chemicals and hidden desires. People are vicious, evil things that will almost laways place themselves above others.
By the time she was eight, she was firmly of the opinion that humanity deserved to die. By the time she was ten, she'd simply stopped caring - her life was the only thing that mattered. Sure, she wanted to be a Hero - she wanted to live through a fairy tale romance, to destroy the bad guys and rescue the world. But that was impossible; it was something that would never happen, to anyone, much less herself.
And, she commented to herself, even if she was presented with the chance, she wouldn't be able to stand up to the challenge.
By the time she was fourteen, she had settled into a stable life cycle; she accepted that life was crap, but she would allow herself to revel in her own delusions. Did she want to die? Perhaps. She certainly did not feel like dealing with the responsibility of living on her own. She certainly did not feel like having to deal with something a hundred times worse than school without any support but her own two hands and her eyes.
But she dragged herself along. And she became content; life was simple, and while she could never quite forget that things would never be perfect, that she was likely to have a horrible life after school, she was able to ignore such things, quite easily in fact, in favor of acting hammy and arguing that her own fate was her own to decide, because if reality was useless, why not carve out a fake reality within reality?
Then, suddenly, she found herself confronted by a small white creature, asking her to become a magical girl in exchange for one wish.
Just one wish, but it could be anything she wanted. Just one wish.
In truth, she'd thought about wishes quite a bit - often, her mind settled itself with three wishes, in order of priority: One, to have a happy life, simple as that. Two, to be able to enter and exit fiction at will. Three, to be able to change gender at will.
And yet, when confronted with such a possibility, she found herself examining it. For a full day and a night she thought, ignoring sleep and the internet and everything else in favor of concentration.
And finally, she made her decision. She confronted Kyubei, and she stood tall, and she stated as firmly as she could:
"I wish for the ability to forge my own path to happiness; for both the opportunity and the will to create my own happiness."
It was... simple, really. and yet she understood what she was wishing; this would not just give her chance, this would be changing her very mind, the very essence of her being, so that she would have a chance at happiness. This was not simply wishing for a happy ending, this was wishing for the chance for one.
Essentially, she was rolling the dice of the Gods, and if she never found happiness... then she had obviously been found wanting.
A day ago, Katherine transformed from an ultimately hopeless little girl to an immortal warrior, prepared to make herself happy... or die trying.
Personality: The most obvious part ot her personality, is that she absolutely despises being accused of lying when she is not. When being accused of such, she responds rapidly and acidly, and will go to great lengths, even to the point of harming her own position, to deny and prove that she is not lying. She can understand arguments, and in fact relishes in them; she is fully willing to accept her own faults and mistakes, even if begrudgingly at times, and will always come back for more.
She is also, extremely self-criticizing. Stubborn, critisizing, and easily irritated, she has a very straight-forward approach to most problems, including directly asking people when she is unsure of her own feelings or their own feelings.
Her view of reality is... well, cynical and blunt. She understands that everything is simply physics, playing out in massive coincidences and goalless games, and that in such a grand scale there is absolutely no point to anything. Even her view of the multiverse is much the same; with everything everywhere everywhen, what does it matter what changes between two universes? There'll be an infinite replications of that exact such thing anyway.
Her view of magical girls is quite cynical; she generally assumes that the wishes they made are probably short-sighted, foolish, imprperly worded, or any number of things. Of course, she refrains from openly stating such unless it is directly pressed into her face, at which point she'll verbally tear a new hole or praise them, depending on her opinion of the matter.
Her opinion of the Kyubei problem is very simple; he is a devious little bastard whom she was very much right not to trust to give her all the information(though she doesn't know about turning into witches), but she personally agrees that, at the very least, what it's doing isn't exactly wrong. She doesn't call it right, either, and if it came to a choice between the Incubators and her own kind she would choose her own kind, almost every time.
Weapon:
Has instinctive skill in usage, able to create, at cost, effectively infinite replications of varying sizes and shapes. Has standard Puella Magi enhanced speed/strength. Capable of flight, at cost, capable of using wings without active flight at much reduced cost.
An endless city, destroyed and desolate with no end in sight. Millions of different styles, of architectures and languages and objects, and yet the entire place is simply... empty. Endless, empty, and bereft of a single ounce of hope.

Name: Hana Chouko
Picture:
Age: 15
Wish: Her older sister, Tomo, was terminally ill and had already made a contract to become a Puella Magi and be cured, she made a contract which freed her sister but left her cured. Her powers are largely protective, usually the creation of barriers or shields, and healing. They are also stronger when her sister is in danger.
Despair: Inevitably her sister will make another contract despite her efforts. This inevitable because her sister really doesn't believe it is her duty to protect her.
Bio: She was born to be a donor for her terminally ill sister who she is incredibly protective of. Her life has largely been devoted to protecting Tomo at the expense of her own life and health. Her sister was at first grateful for this but eventually made the decision that she should be allowed to live her own life. She tried to talk Hana around to taking chances through the donor banks instead but she refused, not only because this was not a long term solution, but also as Hana was scared of living a normal life by this point. Tomo, thinking that her life was less likely to last than her sisters considered suicide when she was approached by Kyubey and offered a deal that could cure her.
Tomo tried to make it seem like a slow recovery but the doctors results came back and Hana noticed the absences from the hospital room. She confronted her and though she didn't believe the truth at first was approached by Kyubey later and realized the truth of it. The horror of the fact that her sister now had even less of a chance of survival combined with a feeling of purposelessness in that she was no longer the one responsible for her sisters life led her to make a contract. The wish was that her sister would no longer be a Puella Magi but still be healed. It is not clear how far this wish worked, her sister may still be to some extent a source of energy for Kyubey while not being a full fledged Puella Magi.
In the rest of her life not much particularly happens, she has problems connecting with others because of her lack of social experience because she spends so much of her life in the hospital. She is an excellent student because one day she hopes to be a doctor but at the same time she has long absences from school because of operations. She still has long absences since her sister is better. She used to wander the streets at random but now does it to look for witches. She has a particular hatred for them because she has seen the misery they can cause and believes in some way they were responsible for her sisters illness.
Personality: Because of her responsibilities she has had to grow up very fast, she is used to pain from operations and the fear of not knowing if she would wake up. She is however terrified of living without her sister and of, when she finds out about the transformation, becoming a witch. She is highly protective of the vulnerable and often shoulders burden herself to do so, to the extent of allowing her soul gem to be heavily tarnished so others can clean theirs, something many have taken advantage of. Her one childish trait is taking in animals that she finds and trying to care for them.
Weapon: A sewing needle that can change size, it can be used as a weapon but less effectively than others. Its main purpose is healing or sewing together barriers out of thin air
Labyrinth: An abandoned hospital full of the sound of sobbing
Name: Karen Renkai
Age: 15
Wish: Wished for a boy to fall in love with her
Despair: She managed to avoid despairing when her wish backfired on her but we'll see how long she can last!!!
Appearance: She is maybe a bit tall for her age, with a plain face and wide, innocent blue eyes. Her hair is a matching light blue, styled with an asymmetrical puff of a ponytail on her left. In spite of her innocent appearance, there is a certain sharpness to her movements and the way she talks.
Witch Form: A pure white succubus reclining on a bed of blue flames. Any human that sees her is instantly smitten, and willingly jumps into the flames on which she sits to feed the fire.
Bio: Once upon a time there was a very unhappy girl. Every day she would wake up, brush her teeth, have a breakfast consisting of two pieces of toast with jam, and go to school. The source of her unhappiness came from the boy at school who sat three seats to the left; he was a very handsome boy, and a very, very popular student. Every lunchtime she would try to work up the courage to confess her love to him, and every lunchtime her nerves would fail her and the bell would ring without the boy so much as acknowledging her existence.
One day, the very unhappy girl was approached by a strange creature who promised her whatever she desired, if only she would help him rid the world of the evil witches. What an opportunity, she thought! The chance to make any single dream come true. And she accepted, without hesitation.
The next day, the boy that sat three seats to her left had difficulty focusing on the lesson at hand. He found his eyes wandering to the right, stealing glances at the very unhappy girl. When lunch arrived, he approached the girl, and he confessed his love to her. And so the very unhappy girl became the very happy girl, for a time.
Days and weeks went by and the very happy girl had never been happier. But as the novelty of her new boyfriend slowly wore off she began to realize that perhaps he wasn't quite everything she had imagined him to be. He was still handsome, and smart, and funny even, but even though he was absolutely devoted to her, she somehow found him... lacking.
It was a month later, during a particularly grueling witch battle, that she finally admitted to herself that perhaps she had only had a fleeting crush on the boy, and that perhaps, somewhere down the line, she'd made a mistake. It was another week before she finally made the hard decision, and told the boy that sat three seats to her left in class that they would be breaking up.
He took it hard, of course; he was, after all, magically compelled to love her, completely, forever. For weeks after that he would make attempts to court her again, but her answer was always no. It must have been quite unbearable, for soon after that he took his own life, not wanting to continue without the girl he loved. And the very happy girl continued to be a happy girl, because she promised to herself not to let a little thing like other people bring her down again, and when they asked if she was quite alright she would tell them she was fine, thank you for asking, and it was all very tragic what had happened but somehow she would find a way to get over it and in fact she was already over it. And so the very happy girl became the tragic girl, and continued to be into the present.
Personality: Friendly and energetic, and easy to get along with. However, she is impossible to get to really 'know,' as she never offers up information about herself, and any sort of interview will just result in a lot of generic answers. She has a wide circle of acquaintances, but zero close friends.
Weapon: Ice magic. Favored weapon is a long spear made of ice. Often she will throw multiple such spears. In addition, her magic is at least partly illusory in nature, allowing her to manipulate her prey with reflections of herself or her spears in mirrors made of ice.
Labyrinth: A large crystal palace maze, blindingly white, with myriad mirrors to confuse the eyes and huge echoing chambers to befuddle the ears. Any human entering the maze inevitably reaches the center, regardless of which direction they head, where the witch resides.
Other:
Name: Nora Ibara
Age: 18
Appearance:
Wish: Nora's wish was to be free of the restraints caused by her condition and family. Her wish resulted in the negative impact of her albinism being cured, fixing the poor quality of her eye sight and removing her intense light sensitivity caused by the condition. As a magi, her wish has made her an incredibly lithe and agile fighter with eye sight far more perfect then any normal persons.
Despair:
Bio: Nora was diagnosed with albinism at the very young age of five when it became apparent that her skin was dangerous sensitive to the sun and her eye sight was incredibly poor. Because of this much of the girls life was confined in doors to a room where sunlight which may as well been poison to her could not enter. Due to the severity of the condition she would have to be home schooled for her entire life and only very rarely left the family home. When she was able to leave it would almost always be a very tense situation for her parents.
Naturally she became a very quiet and reclusive person due to her isolation and rarely met with others her age. When she was able to it was easily apparent that she was seen as an outcast due to her almost sickly pale skin, odd colored eyes and faded gray hair. Instead of seeking companionship from others she turned to books which would allow her to experience the outside world in some way. She enjoyed every one she could get her hands on but the girls favorite were fantasy books which told of a world filled with magic and wonder, a completely polar opposite from her dark, gray and often lonely world.
As she grew older her condition only began to cause more strain on her family, or perhaps she simply began to notice the subtleties in her parents demeanor which implied a near constant tension. Seeing the tension caused by her condition made her begin to grow bitter and angry towards herself, her parents an even the world itself. This bitterness would only serve to fuel the fire of tension in the family, which until now had been a quiet and subtle state of restlessness.
Eventually her parents would split up, leaving her with her mother alone who had already grown distant. This was when she was 17, and around this time she would discover a certain strange visitor atop her bookshelf one night. At first Nora thought she had lost her mind when she saw the strange white feline like creature atop the shelf, casually sitting as its tail swished back and forth. Insane or not, the creature which introduced itself as Kyuubey told her of the world of magic and intrigue hiding just beneath the surface of the plain world she had cursed. When she was offered a wish and the ability to gain a power which she could only have dreamed of in the past, she accepted eagerly.
After she made her wish she gained the ability to see the outside world safely which she had never been able to do before. She was initially overjoyed at the fact however she soon became disgusted with the people of the world who looked down upon her for her condition, which visually would never go away. Her disgust was only fueled by the things she saw when hunting witches, the terrible things people could be so easily made to do when plunged into despair. Oddly over the year shes spent since fighting witches she has felt little spite for the witches themselves, which in her eyes are merely unfortunate creatures acting on their own nature and desire to live, and only a begrudging indifference to Kyuubey who was at least worth co-operating with for the sake of information. Since making her wish she no longer lives with either of her parents and has been staying in an old home near the edge of town whos residents were killed by a witch who's barrier formed in the area. Finally, she has recently begun dyeing her hair in effort to hide the remaining signs of her albinism.
Personality: At her core Nora is simply a reclusive individual who is at odds with herself and the very world we live in. She holds a bitterness towards herself and others which she has been unable to let go of causing her to be very brash and uncaring when dealing with others. However she does not seek to actively harm others and generally only does so when harmed herself. She is lax in her duties as a magi, not seeing most people as anything that needs to be protected. She ignores nearly all familiars she comes across and will generally only deal with as few witches as she needs to keep her soul gem clean.
Weapon: Nora wields two guns whos bullets are produced via her magic. The right hand gun fires a smaller caliber bullet and has a blade attached for melee attacks. The left hand gun is slightly larger and fires a higher caliber bullet. Aside from her guns she sports very powerful eye sight allowing for incredibly accurate shots and a very high degree of speed and agility, allowing her maneuver about with ease in nearly any situation, even while airborn.
Labyrinth: Nora's barrier would be a massive labyrinthine city of bookshelves which from time to time would open up into a twisted vision of the world portrayed in many of the books shes read. Between the rows of bookshelves would be many twisting and winding staircases, often bending into impossible angles which would appear equally impossible to walk upon. As someone neared the center of her lair the shelves and books would grow more and more run down with books whos pages had been torn and scattered about littering the ground, and the light within the barrier would begin to flicker and fade out. At the center would be a pitch black area that once entered would seem to spread out forever with the only sound to be heard being that of pages turning and the only light to be seen faintly caused by the witch itself.
The text in the books themselves would be scrawled in witches runes and her familiars would be tall pale and gangly, unclothed humanoid figures lacking any recognizable definition(eyes, mouth, hair, ears, recognizable muscular definition etc) whos purpose is to tend to the massive shelves and fetch books for their master. Any human entering the barrier would also be lead to their master, by force if necessary.
Name: Yukari YumeMahou Shoujo:
Witch:
(look familiar?)
Age: 25
Wish: Made at the brink of death when she got lost in a Witch's lair, Yukari's wish was simply to not die, and it's given her a much sturdier body and a Soul Gem not as susceptible to corruption.
Despair: Lost her only friend.
Bio: Yukari was a pessimistic person before becoming a Puella Magi. With horrible luck, no friends, and a highly dysfunctional family, keeping her spirits up was more than a tremendous task for her. More than a few times she'd contemplated and even attempted suicide without a Witch's influence, and then came the day that changed her life. Just seconds before what would have been a successful end to her own life, an oddly-clothed stranger stopped her and, desspite Yukari's protests, led her through a bizarre place. For the first time, she'd seen what despair looked like; a frightening monster the stranger called a Witch.
Thanks to either the fear of these beasts of despair or the newfound friendship with this stranger - a girl who called herself a Puella Magi - Yukari's negative attiude was gone. She'd accompany her new friend to hunt more Witches, learning what it meant to be a Puella Magi. However, as much time she spent with her Puella Magi friend, not once did she find this Kyubey she'd hear about sometimes. At least, not until ten years ago.
Yukari had gotten separated from her friend in a Witch's lair, and had the misfortune of being the one to find the Witch, as well as being spotted by the Witch herself. It was then that Kyubey showed himself, and told her that with just a contract, she could leave with her soul intact and begin a new life as a Puella Magi. Her wish was fast and simple: don't die. Even so, or maybe because it was so, Yukari's friend, being more experienced as a Puella Magi, slew the Witch herself.
However, her friend died later that very day; she was overwhelmed with despair. The very first Witch Yukari ever killed was her one friend in life. That's what made Yukari what she is now; a Puella Magi who refuses to stop or make friends, or let anybody else suffer because of Witches.
Personality: Yukari takes her duty as a Puella Magi seriously; it's all she's really got left. Preserving human life is her greatest priority, and she very well understands what it means to be a Puella Magi, having lasted longer as such than others in general. She also understands how Witches are formed and why Incubators make contracts. Having that knowledge, Yukari has a bitter resentment toward Kyubey; the "arrogant little hairball who put this curse on me." Giving up means her end, and for that reason alone, she keeps fighting.
Weapon: Pure magic (purple)
(Witch) Highly enhanced speed/strength
Labyrinth: Yukari's labyrinth is a large maze, with walls covered in hundreds of paintings depicting the despairs in her life. If one managed to reach the center, an elevator would lead deep down into a large room of machines; a room very similar to the one in which she became a Puella Magi, complete with a partially-built shell of the massive metallic Witch that almost killed her, inside which hangs a corpse identical to that of her friend, albeit in Yukari's outfit. This is where Yukari awaits any prey.
Other: - Aside from hating Witches and Incubtors, Yukari doesn't trust other Puella Magi.
Name: Midori UnmeiMahou Shoujo:
Witch:
Age: 16
Wish: Midori had heard talk that her days were very limited. Because of it, she wished to be rid of sickness forever, which gave her the ablity to heal others.
Despair: Midori's entire family is soon going to catch a deluxe version of what nearly killed her.
Bio: Midori's life had three words to describe everything, those being "Midori's home sick." Not a day in her life was the girl healthy, and for no longer than two did she have the same symptoms. Lots of Midori's life was spent hooked up hospital machines, and there had been numerous times where she barely clung to life.
And then Kyubey appeared to her, offering a miracle in exchange for becoming a Puella Magi. At first, Midori doubted him, but after a week or so, she took Kyubey up on his offer. During her most recent trip to the hospital, Midori had heard talk that her days were very limited. Because of it, she wished to be rid of sickness forever; a wish Kyubey granted. She spent the rest of that day listening to Kyubey tell her about her duties as a Puella Magi. That day was just yesterday. Now the work begins.
Personality: Even when she was sick, Midori maintained a smile and the strong belief that she would be alright. Now that she won't ever be sick again, that confidence has grown exponentially, and that can-do attitude now shines to everything she lays eyes on. Midori believes in a world of hope and endless potential and possibility. She wants to make that dream world into a reality, and is certain that the power of the Puella Magi can help accomplish that goal.
Weapon: Staff can be used in melee combat or to fire pure magic (green)
(Witch) Spread of diseases through various means.
Labyrinth: In the event that she would become a Witch, Midori's labyrinth would be a desolate hospital with no living patients. Disease-bearing gasses fill the top level, produced by Midori herself, and staying up there for too long would mean certain death unless one soon obtains a cure.

Shizuka Fuyutski
Age: 19
Appearance:
Puella Magi:
Witch:
Witch Form Pending Possible Replacement.
Wish: She wished ‘To Always Have The Strength To Go On’, in order to deal with the stressful times she was entering into. This wish granted her the powers of enhanced strength and durability, giving her physical strength far beyond both humans and other Puella Magi, and a body that can take greater amounts of abuse than other Puella Magi.
Despair: Has no particular despair, but she can be broken down to this point if she continuously fails at her tasks. Whilst individual failiures do not faze her, suffering them again and again and again will break her down to the point where she forgets the wish she made, and enters into despair at long last.
Bio: For the first eleven years of her life, Shizuka lived in the Japanese countryside with her parents, as an only child of an ordinary family in a rural town. Both her and her life were pretty unremarkable, aside from a slightly unstable financial climate within her household, and a nervous tendency that plagued her from time to time, fluctuating and zig-zagging as she got older. She did well in school, being a bit of a brainbox, and she had a decent group of friends.
However, not long after she turned eleven, said financial climate took a nasty turn, and in order to keep a balance on everything, Shizuka’s parents were forced to sell their house and move into the city in pursuit of a cheaper living and higher-paying jobs.
To say that Shizuka’s live got up-ended would be an understatement. The sudden shift from a comfortable life in the countryside to a fast-paced, demanding one in the city took it’s toll on the nervous young girl, and in tandem with some of the bullying she got, her tendencies got worse and worse. Her schoolwork declined, and despite her parent’s best attempts to help her, it seemed as if it wouldn’t be long until she broke down…
Of course, this being the world that this was, her despair attracted a familiar.
Fortunately for her, however, she was saved from getting devoured by the Familiar by an inexperienced Puella Magi, and in the process of this happening, she met Kyubey. Taken in by the Magical Girl’s confidence, and the promise of a wish from the Incubator, she was beguiled into making a wish of her own, and out of the desperation she was falling into, she made a somewhat unusual wish.
‘To Always Have The Strength To Go On’
From that day on, Shizuka became stronger, both figuratively and literally. She became more confident, the effects of her unusual wish improving her psychological condition in the same way it made her into a powerful force to be reckoned with, her strength and resilience climbing to levels far above that of typical Puella Magi. After that, her life gradually improved…
Right up until the incident.
Half a year after she became a Puella Magi, a train that her parents were on crashed, as a result of the driver being cursed with a Witch’s Kiss. Shizuka and her mentor did their best to stop it, managing to board the train in order to engage the Witch responsible for the Kiss, but were unable to do so in able for the crash to be avoided, and everyone except for Kyubey and herself were killed, the former due to calling in a substitute body, and the latter due to her resilience and the Soul Gem she had surviving the crash.
Despite her intense grief, the wish she made gave her the strength to pull through, and she managed to remove herself from the wreckage… Only to catch a glance of Kyubey’s new body sneaking away.
From that day forwards, Shizuka changed again. It took a good while to do so, but she managed to escape the authorities and special services that wanted to take custody of her in order to slip away into pursuit of Kyubey and other Puella Magi, both to get stronger and to find the truth of what was really going on.
Over time, she accomplished her goals, to varying degrees. Whilst much of what is going on still eludes her, that is token with Magical Girls, and she does still have a greater knowledge of such than most others like her. And in tune with that, she did get stronger, with her becoming an even greater force to be reckoned with due to her thinking outside of the box, and the powers granted to her by her unusual wish.
Recently, after the incident in Mitakihara, she has become active once more, seeking out Kyubey in order to question him further.
Personality: The life and ordeals that Shizuka endured after she became a Puella Magi have shaped her personality into a rather straightforward and passive mold, albeit a rather confident and certain one. Whilst her experiences as a Puella Magi have been as unpleasant to her as they always have been, the thought of her wish has kept her going throughout the years, and she hasn’t been shy to experiment with her powers, finding ways to kill witches that are both cheap in magical cost and efficient in Witch killing (Such as using mundane weapons to kill them instead of ripping them apart with Magic). She does feel emotion, she just doesn’t openly display it as most would.
In regards to Kyubey, whilst she does dislike him and will often ‘greet him’ with violence and dismemberment, she does not fault his purpose, only that he goes about it in such a cruel manner.
At times she can become somewhat of a Well-Intentioned Extremist, as the strength of heart granted to her by her wish often leads to her doing questionable actions that would have a benefit in the long run.
Weapon: Her main weapon is a war-hammer, which can be expanded to a variety of greater sizes in order to allow greater reach or effect. She can also use ice magic, and tends to carry several mundane weapons (such as firearms, blades or crossbows) around to preserve her magic whenever possible.
Labyrinth:
A gigantic frozen wasteland, with skeleton familiars hiding in the walls and swarms of vicious biting insects the size of tennis balls floating around. The place is always in the midst of a raging blizzard, and the various walkways of ice between the gigantic glaciers lead to the core of the labyrinth, where a pool of water containing Shizuka’s witch form awaits. There’s also a penguin army.

Voice Actor is Amanda Winn-Lee
Name: Arisu Sasaki
Age: 17
Appearance:
Puella Magi:
Witch:
Wish: When Arisu was accosted by a mugger in a back alley at night, she wished for power. Power to defend herself against any kind of threat. As a result, all of Arisu's physical attributes are enhanced as a magi, including strength and speed. In addition, Arisu's wish for power gave her greater magical potential, allowing her to use more magic and corrupt her Soul Gem at a slower pace.
Despair: Being defeated by something she believes is inferior to herself, and realizing that all the power she's gained is worthless if she dies.
Bio: Arisu was born into a family that had just recently become wealthy, and attended one of the best private academies in Japan. Which didn't help her much. From her early days in school, Arisu was often bullied by her peers, mainly due to the fact that her family was one of the noveau riche, instead of being old money like themselves. Her teachers were unable to help her, as many of her tormentors' parents contributed large amounts of money to the school, and would not take it well if their children were punished for bullying. And Arisu's parents themselves were often unable to help, as they were too busy with running their own careers and affairs. This left her bitter and cold, hating the fact that she lacked the ability to do anything about her situation.
In middle school, nothing changed, with Arisu still being bullied and becoming more and more bitter about her own inability to do anything. Then, one night, she went out for a walk on the streets, to both clear her head and try to temporarily escape from her woes. While wallowing in ridiculous amounts of internal angst, Arisu didn't notice where she was going, and found herself in a back alley in one of the more crime-ridden areas of Kyoto. A mugger walked up and held a gun up to the poor girl's face, demanding money. At this point, Kyubey appeared, and telepathically offered Arisu a wish. And so she wished for power. Two minutes later, Arisu walked out of the alley, with the mugger dead of third-degree burns.
With a large amount of power now at her fingertips, Arisu gladly agreed to hunt Witches for Kyubey, and set about to use her newfound abilities to take some petty revenge on her tormentors. Creative applications of fire were used on some, and others were lured into the territories of familiars and eaten before Arisu slaughtered the Witches that arose. As time passed, the feeling of power became addicting to the Puella Magi, and combat became a new high for her as she grew to actually enjoy slaying Witches, not to mention the power she was able to unleash when she had an adequate supply of Grief Seeds.
Three years passed, and Arisu continued on her path of killing Witches and becoming ever more intoxicated with her power. However, when the Witch supply in Kyoto became depleted thanks to a coven of other Puella Magi in the city, Arisu grew desperate and launched an all-out attack on their main headquarters, stealing a supply of Grief Seeds and killing several other Puella Magi. The survivors of the coven rallied and counterattacked, forcing Arisu to retreat and flee from Kyoto itself. Now in a new city, she has resumed hunting Witches, forcibly seizing an apartment by luring its sole occupant, a recluse that barely emerged from his home and therefore wouldn't be missed, into a familiar's territory, where he was eaten.
Personality: Arrogant and selfish, yet actually somewhat friendly to those who don't provoke her. Arisu respects strength and power, and heavily believes in "might makes right". She actually enjoys fighting Witches, loving the feelings of battle, victory, and the power she gains afterwards, and looks down on mundane humans, seeing Puella Magi as superior beings.
Weapon: A large scythe, and fire magic.
(Witch): Massive strength and endurance, and is on fire.
Labyrinth: Arisu's labyrinth can barely be called such. Instead of the winding, twisted mazes that are the norm for Witches, Arisu's territory is simply a massive battlefield strewn with the corpses of witches and familiars she's slain. Arisu's familiars are strewn across the battlefield. In the center of it all, on a large hill, is Arisu's demonic Witch form.
(Totally doesn't look like Unlimited Blade Works. At all. Nope.)
Other:
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Name: Sansara Fumi
Age: 14
Wish: Being teased for so long by her obnoxious younger brothers, Fumi was so distraught by her blindness that she took her wish to a rather drastic level during her fit of rage. Fumi asked for Kyubey to grant her the capability to see everything or anything at her whim.
Despair: Though it has yet to come to her, Fumi will inevitably suffer a mind-melting vision of absolutely everything, and, unable to comprehend such a thing will despair in multiple ways befitting of such an infinitesimally insignificant being such as herself.
Bio:
Sansara Fumi was born with both her optical nerves destroyed due to an accidental oxygen overdose after birth, rendering her blind for the rest of her life. As she had never even had the opportunity to see, Fumi didn't become very saddened over the matter. She grew up just about as normally as any girl could, living as a fisherman's daughter and going through a specialized school system to suit her special needs. Eventually however, she became more and more distressed over her innate inability. The fact that her twin younger brothers were absolute brats, and would often tease her over her blindness didn't help the issue.
Fumi fell into depression after some time, and refused to do anything, much less accept the help offered to her by others. Her brothers didn't stop, and so it was difficult for her to really have much happiness in life at the time. It was just after an argument with her parents over the behavior of her brothers that she fled to her room and encountered a small white creature sitting in her windowsill. It offered her one wish in return for subjugating herself to a paranormal battle against so-called "Witches", and in her mad fury, she both accepted and wished for something that she would later see as unnecessary;
"I wish I could see more than anyone else! I wish I could see everything!"
She was given the ability to 'see' anything she wished to, though her eyes themselves remained incapable of perceiving light. Eager to remove herself from the household at any point she could, Fumi became a rather active figure in the fight against Witches and Familiars.
Personality:
Sansara is often a bit bitter towards others, with a quick-draw mouth and little patience, though since her wish was granted, she has become more and more open and calmed. When things don't work out, she becomes easily flustered -fuming even- and doesn't take well to other's ridicule even in the slightest. Through years of being childishly and carefully handled, Fumi has grown tired of sympathy for herself, and tries her best to accept nothing from others and to do everything herself.
Weapon:
Fumi's weapons are like virtual lines of sight extending infinitely in one direction. When in her Magi form, Fumi's opened eyes alight with a encircling group of semi-circular multicolored lines, and at her discretion, can send out a fast-projecting thin line at the direction in which she is focusing her attention. This line, along any point, can create an explosion of varying magnitude. The entire ordeal is instant, and so she cannot maintain a constant line and wait till an enemy passes into it. The explosions act like spatial displacement events, obliterating things caught within them, though tougher enemies will merely take the hit as if it were a concussive force. The power is a hard-hitting one, but unlike many other Puella Magi, Fumi's is slow to use consistently.
Labyrinth:
Fumi's labyrinth is a desolate, arid, and dusty place, marked only by a single building in its center. The cathedral stands tall, but appears dilapidated and chaotic in architecture. Reaching its doors is easy while traversing it is an entirely different story. Inside, the cathedral becomes a mess of portal-like hallways, covered in dust and cobwebs, with each leading through some mad mechanism to another hallway. The Witch itself resides within the back room with a massive circular window wide open to the outside realm.

[yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ja3LGFY1i0o[/yt]
Name: Eri "Kaz" Kazami
Age: 17 (would have been 27 if she weren't deceased)
Wish: Eri wished to be able to read the tides of fate and change her own destiny because of uncertainty and misfortune filling her life. It allowed her to predict fate, obviously.
Despair: Wasn't aware that she was fated to become a Witch. Also realized that the one person she wanted to protect was beyond saving.
Bio: A lot of Eri's life is uncertainty and misfortune at every turn, from not knowing where her parents were as a child to learning they were dead. Much of it was locked away deep in her head to avoid the pain that came with those memories, so Eri lived with what was dubbed as a big memory loss problem. And then it all changed when she met Kyubey. This was her chance to see misfortune coming long before it ever reached her. The contract was made quickly, and with it, Eri Kazami became a Puella Magi.
Some time into this, she met a regular person who was about to commit suicide under the influence of a Witch's Kiss, and Eri barely had time to save her and show this stranger just what was making her do this. Being able to read fate, Eri could already tell this girl was going to become a Puella Magi someday. Until then, Eri wanted to protect her and teach her everything that could be taught. This girl's name was Yukari Yume.
Unfortunately, even being able to read fate, Eri couldn't save herself. After some time of teaching Yukari what it meant to be a Puella Magi, the two got split up in the midst of a Witch's labyrinth. Eri couldn't reach Yukari in time to prevent her from becoming a Puella Magi; something that, according to Eri, shouldn't have happened until about eight months later. Seeing Yukari as a Puella Magi was what threw Eri into despair. Fate was changing, and Eri could see that her friend was doomed from that moment forward. She became a Witch that very day, and was slain by Yukari.
Personality: Eri was a happy-go-lucky sort who didn't give up easily. She had a firm decisive mind made on what her values were, and she didn't care how badly she'd have to fight to protect those values. Her ability to see fate made her a little arrogant at times, but even this was short-lived. Her greatest goal in life was to make sure everybody got their happy ending, that way she could die happily when she would think back to all the people she'd brought a smile to.
Weapons: Scrolls from which she can produce various spells or objects, depending on the scroll itself. This is entirely abitrary, but thanks to her wish, she already knows what she'll get.
Witch's weapons: Scrolls that can bind the bodies of her foes and call fate to them, hastening their death.
Labyrinth: Typical of a Witch, Eri's labyrinth was just that; a labyrinth. Throughout the twists and turns, there were countless scrolls with unintelligeble runes written on them, each one detailing a piece of the past, present, or future. Only Eri could understand these runes, and she planned to make sure NOBODY read from her scrolls!
Other: Eri's Grief Seed is still in Yukari's possession; she's refused to use it and has actually taken on the corruption it's picked up in the last decade. It's the only piece of Eri left in the world.
NOTE: Scale of Power runs on a 1-10 basis, with reference points below.
Walpurgisnacht = 10
Oktavia von Seckendorff = 8
Charlotte = 5
Gertrud = 3
Name: Lilith
Age: As old as humanity itself
Wish: Too many to list
Despair: Too many to list
Bio: The very first Puella Magi was Lilith. Likewise, she was the very first Witch. Over the eons, countless other Witches have been assimilated into her being, similar to a recently-slain Walpurgisnacht. However, Lilith is far more powerful, and her very few appearances in history have led to the ends of nations and widespread death nd destruction. And at some point, she will appear again...
Personality: Lacks one as a Witch will
Weapon: Immense destructive powers
Labyrinth: Needs no barrier; simply fades in and out of this world.
Other: Lilith's human form is but a shell, used until its destruction to make moving around easier in a manner similar to that of Charlotte. Lilith's true form is roughly twice the size of Walpurgisnacht.
Scale of Power: ???
Name: Betrug
Wish: Made when her mind was already filled with despair, paranoia, and contempt, Betrug's wish was to have the ability to trick others into being pawns in her plans.
Despair: Discovered she was but a pawn herself; Kyubey's pawn.
Bio: Born to two conspiracy theorists, Betrug's wish was made shortly after the simultaneous murders of both her parents. She was certain; the people her parents theorized about were behind this atrocious crime. Eventually, she learned the real reasons that Incubators made contracts, and fell into a spiral of despair over being decieved and manipulated. Thus gave rise to Betrug: the Witch of Deception.
Weapon: The monster others see is simply bait. The real Betrug puts up an act of a girl with a vengeance that cannot be realized alone, made evident by false wounds. The sword-wielding "Puella Magi" helps fight the fake beast, only to kill the Puella Magi that "helped" her afterwards.
Labyrinth: Betrug's lair consists of a large clearing in a forest, albeit a rather rocky one.
Other:
Scale of Power: 8
Name: Verlangen
Wish: Never feel despair. From a life filled with despair, it was all she wanted.
Despair: N/A
Bio: An oddity among Witches, Verlangen doesn't quite fit the definition of a Witch because of her wish to never feel despair. Instead, when her Soul Gem became too corrupted and transformed, it went solid black like a Grief Seed, but otherwise retained its usual form. It's certainly a Grief Seed, but one could easily mistake it for a Soul Gem. Do not make that mistake.
Personality: As a Witch, she's supposed to have been reduced to pure instinct and despair, but makes up for her lack of despair with a cunning and charming personality unseen in other Witches.
Weapon: Katana + Pure magic (crimson)
Labyrinth: Verlangen's lair is simply a long and elegant hallway, ending in a black throne on which rests the Witch herself. Her every desire is carried out by numerous familiars that resemble armored men with the head of an animal; which animal exactly varies from one knight to the next.
Other: Still hunts Witches as well as being one. She's gathered a large handful of Grief Seeds, but what she plans to do with them is a mystery.
Scale of Power: 9
Name: Sterblich
Wish: Death scared the girl, so she wished it would never come to her.
Bio: When one gets a high dosage of something, they want more. So it was with Sterblich, adrenaline being her drug alongside a group of friends. On a dark stormy night, she and five friends began cycling down a slippery and steep hill. One of them didn't see the sunrise the next day. Sterblich came to fear death after that night, slowly secluding herself from danger. Until a strange creature named Kyubey came to her.
Death scared the girl, so she wished it would never come to her. But it came at the dearest of prices. Everybody she cared about started dropping like flies when she made her wish, and she soon found herself alone. Because of it, she tried to end her own life, only to find that every time she should have died, an innocent life was lost. Thus rose Sterblich: the Witch of Mortality.
Weapon: Teeth
Labyrinth: Sterblich's labyrinth is themed heavily with corpses, skeletons, and organic parts complete with fangs not unlike her own. Sterblich awaits at the bottom of her very living lair to consume whoever wasn't literally eaten alive by the labyrinth.
Other: The girl is just a shell; the real Sterblich is a giant mass of muscles, tentacles, and razor-sharp fangs.
Scale of Power: 7
Name: Magie
Wish: Be a witch
Despair: Became a Witch
Bio: With a love of fantasy tales, Magie wanted to tap into the dark forces of the universe like the witches in her favorite stories. Her wish was clear to her the instant Kyubey offered her a contract. There was only one thing she didn't see coming; she had no knowledge of the Witches that Puella Magi hunted. Because of that alone, she became a Witch instead of a Puella Magi. Thus arose Magie as a Witch.
Weapon: Pure mgic (black)
Labyrinth: Magie's lair is a massive medival castle locked in a perpetual stormy night. Throughout are numerous kinds of familiars that are themed by things one can find in such a castle, from lowly slaves to a king who fiercely guards his queen; Magie herself.
Scale of Power: 5
Name: Hass
Wish: In a fit of jealousy, Hass wished that the target of her affection would hate the person who loved him.
Despair: The phraseology of her wish made it to that her crush hated not only any competition, but her as well.
Bio: Born into high status, there was a girl who was accustomed to getting what she wanted when she wanted it. There was a boy she had her eyes set on, but she was far from the only one. She was also not the one he loved back, and when she saw him with another girl, jealousy sparked in massive amounts. The second she met Kyubey, she wished that the boy would deeply hate any who loved him, and that hate was extended to her as well when the contract was finished. The knowledge that she'd forsaken the one thing she wanted most threw her into the deep jowls of despair, giving birth to Hass: the Witch of Hate and Jealousy.
Weapon: Fire and her massive fists.
Labyrinth: Hass's labyrinth plays heavily on fire, both red and green, and is like a massive blazing mansion. In the basemnt, accessible only by nearing the center of the mansion, is Haas and a number of charred skeletons, plus two flaming corpses; one burning in a fire of red and the other in green.
Scale of Power: 4
Name: Ziel von Hoffnung
Wish: Absolute hope for her friends
Despair: Absolute despair for herself
Bio: Ziel is one of the three strongest Witches in history, excluding Lilith of course. Originally, she just became a powerful Witch shortly after becoming a very powerful Puella Magi who had wished for hope for all of her friends, but she soon assimilated those very friends into her body when they were overwhelmed with the despair of having to either kill Ziel or accept their own demise. This gave rise to Ziel as she is commonly depicted: the horrific combined body of five different Puella Magi, and with it, enough power for five Witches.
Throughout the centuries since making the contract, Ziel began consuming other Witches as it strayed into their barriers, becoming more and more powerful with each Witch conquered. Eventually, she rose to be one of the three greatest, and developed an outer shell from the accumulated despair of all the Witches she'd defeated before, and it both is and isn't a barrier at the same time. Regardless of its classification, the sightings of this shell are always followed by absolute despair, and Ziel becoming that much more powerful.
Personality: Perhaps from sheer power, but probably from being five people at once, Ziel has developed an actual personality, and is highly capable of intelligent interaction with other beings. She is ruthless and vicious in logic, and mocking yet charming in word, but her ultimate goal above all else is to inflict absolute despair to not just humans, but the Puella Magi that brand her a villain. She's very much on-board with contracts being made, as they create more Puella Magi, which in turn will produce more Witches and thus, more prey for Ziel to absorb and greater power for her. She seems to have a much deeper plan than just bringing about despair, though...
Weapons: Exterior Shell - Destructive powers highly similar to those of Walpurgisnacht, and just as powerful.
Standard Form - Magic (right arm), knives (left arm), swords (right leg), more magic (left leg), tentacle-like appendages (body/head)
True Form - Tentacle-like appendages
Labyrinth: Ziel's Exterior Shell both is and isn't a barrier at the same time. It is in the sense that it's where Ziel resides as she wanders throughout the world, and that it serves as her lair. However, in the senses that the shell is a physical object, and that the inside of the entire thing is a labyrinth, it's not a proper Witch's lair. Regardless, the inside of this shell is complete and utter pandemonium, despair, fear, pain, and every other negative human emotion, built from the countless Witches that compose Ziel as a whole.
Any Puella Magi who decides to enter the labyrinth instead of force Ziel out would do wise to tread lightly, and not let their emotions influence any of their decisions, as these emotions brought the end to countless before.
Other: Ziel's actual body stays inside its Exterior Shell most of the time, but extensive damage can and will force the Witch herself to emerge, albeit in her Standard Form. Her four limbs will defend her true body to the death, and those deaths are going to have to happen for any hope of bringing Ziel down to just her True Form.
Even though Ziel's "limb bodies" are fully independant, they don't seem to display any personality or intelligent thought like the true Ziel. Perhaps they're just powerful Familiars?
Scale of Power: 10
Kyubey (Incubator #9- Earth Model)
Age: Unknown. Thought to be as old as humanity itself, if not even older.
Wish: N/A
Despair: Is incapable of feeling emotions, so despair is an impossible experience for it.
Bio: The Incubator stationed on earth, Kyubey has a long and unpleasant (By our standards) history. Since the dawn of time, he has guided and made contracts with humanity, his 'guiding hand' being what lead humans from the caves they started off in and onto the road to civilization and dominion over the earth. Many of the Puella Magi that have entered into contracts with him have become figures of fame and/or legend, both inside of the Puella Magi community and out.
To tell more than a small fraction of his story would be an arduous task, but only one part of it can be said to directly affect this tale.
A short while ago, Walpurgis Night, one of the strongest witches of all time, appeared once more and embarked on a trail of destruction, ending up in Mitakihara, where it was destroyed by four Puella Magi, at the cost of said Magi's lives and the destruction of Mitakihara. Destruction of settlements on this scale and the deaths of Puella Magi were far from being new for Kyubey, but Walpurgis Night happened to be the strongest Witch recorded in Millennia, and it's slow, arduous demise by a small number of Puella Magi, only a few experienced, caused a large amount of energy to be released over a long period of time, sending out a 'death cry' that woke up what could only be described as a Transcendent Witch.
Lilith. Mother of all Witches and the strongest to ever exist.
In preparation for this and the gigantic amounts of energy that could be released in a crusade to destroy this ancient being, Kyubey has started to form contracts with a great many girls, seeing his chance to bring his quota that step further to completion.
Personality: Despite lacking emotions, Kyubey does possess a personality.
On the surface, he is an affable and charming 'little furball', who convinces young girls to form contracts with him in order to fight the Witches that plague humanity. He hates the idea of lying, almost nothing at all is capable of fazing him and his years of experience, and he is unflappably 'cheerful'.
This is all a damnable facade.
His 'duty' entails that the girls that he contracts eventually fall into despair as to stave off the heat death of the universe, and so he is ruthless, if patient, in his efforts to increase his quota. Being unwilling (unable?) to lie, he instead withholds information unless it is specifically requested, and even then twists it for his own purposes.
As per being the result of a civilization with a fully alien set of moral values, Kyubey does not understand human morality, and so sees no fault in his actions. In this, one could say that there is no true malice in his actions, and he is in fact doing a good thing on a greater scale, at a cost on a smaller scale. However, the moral dissonance between him and humanity is too great for a full understanding to be reached, and so he is known to some as an incorrigible monster.
Weapon: Trolling. And lots of it.
Labyrinth: N/A
Other:
- Canon Character, so not much else to say here.

Sorry to chime in, but it would be neat if there were a few normal not yet a magic girl PCs in the mix. People who would end up stumbling upon the others by chance, and have to find the resolve to become a magic girl. You likely wouldn't want more than two of these around, but it might turn out interesting.
Thanks for the siggy Harby san. You definitely know my tastes.

I think that anime was wondering if YOU Nocturn and Erode were related since you wrote that you were off to bed, and then Wonger wrote that She was off to bed, and the Erode said that stuff about her brother, and then anime thought that Nocturne was erodes brother and that erode warned Wonger about nocturn being Unapropriet while asleep.Chrome: "Hmm~! Psycho, you mad man~!
Her chest opens
A fleeting glimpse of a gloomy crevice
Blossoming ribs in place of the heart she lost
There's death's devouring nothingness
An empty shell made to live
An empty chest, without a heart.

I was just wondering, is the position of Kyubey's Friend open? Y'know the Puella Magi who gets along with/likes Kyubey, like Mami did. Too soon!
I mean, SONEONE has to put up with the little devil and protect him from the haters :3
Lemme address all this at once...
Noel: I should clarify. What I meant was "Try not to kill other Puella Magi." But I think Yukari is already the superbitch unless you can out-bitch her.
Luna: I was hoping somebody would do that, actually. I would've done it, but I didn't have any pictures ready and was too lazy to find new ones.
BlackRock: Go for it. Yukari sorta fills in the Homura role of Kyubey-hater but is also experienced like Mami, so it'll be neat to see a Kyubey's-Friend character running about as well![]()

I've had this sig since July 2012. It's good.
