As it would turn out, my inspiration well ran dry a little short of 1000 words and what I ended up with was an incoherent mess not worthy to be considered a contender for either category.

However, this does mean I can vote in both categories this time around. And write reviews of all the pieces! So there's that.

You know, you can still write reviews and vote in both categories even when you do enter... ^^

Surely I can't vote in a category I have entered? I mean.. I can't vote for myself, and it would be counter-intuitive of me to vote for someone else in a competition...

As for writing reviews, I suppose I technically could, but in order to not give myself away I would have to write a review of my own piece, which I'm not sure I could do without giving away that the piece was mine. I'm not exactly the most subtle person in the world, I'm sure if someone paid close attention they would be able to tell.

There is nothing against the rules about voting in a category that you entered, as long as you don't vote for yourself. Personally I think it would be most in the spirit of friendly competition if everyone who entered then voted for someone else in that same category, but, I digress. Probably never going to happen, for the same reason you mentioned. Counter-intuitive and all. >> Though not against the rules.

And... yeah, there is that. But, you could, quite simply, just write reviews on the ones that catch your eye and you have something to say about. ^^

    I suppose so.

And by the way, who the hell decided to cheat and put up seven entries for each category this time around? That's ungodly! The one week I announce that I'm going to read and review them all, there's bloody 15 entries!

    I've been tricked...

Indeed. Quite a surprise upset. Here I am thinking there won't be very many entries this month, and then next thing I know, most I've ever seen!!
