History: Night Star is a young colt that was one of the supporters watching the flight exam, (if there were any supporters!). There isn’t much to say about him, except for the fact that he saw the fillies that failed being taken away. He was sent by some worried parents to try and find the missing ponies. So that’s what he’s doing.
Notable traits: Genderbend of Shadow. You know who she is. So yeah same personality and traits, but just boy version.

History: Amethyst Dawns older brother.
Notable traits: His cutie mark is a black rock (obsidian) and a lightning bolt

History: She's lived in Cloudsdale her whole life, only occasionally leaving to visit relatives. She has been nervous about her flying exam for months now, almost certain she's not good enough to pass.
Notable traits: Brilliant artist, but not such a good flyer

History: He got banished to the moon with Nightmare Moon, after Solar Flare took over Celestia a second after she banished Luna. His existence there brought the real Luna back, and he trained under her, his eventually masterful grasp of Lunar magic changing the color of his mane, and making him eternally youthful. Around 1,000 years later, she sent him to check on the Pegasi school system...
He has blue eyes, and black fur. His mane looks black, but if you concentrate on it, it appears to be an empty void... Deep, and dark.
Notable traits: Best friend of Luna's, extremely skilled with Lunar magic, physically weak. His cutie mark is that of a cresent moon, crossed by a black unicorn horn.

History: Shade came from a place call SunnyTown, where there's nothing but happiness for all ponies. When she was a young fowl, she had many friends that she would love to hang around, share treats and other things. Even though she had yet to get her cutie mark, she showed what kind of power or talent she had. She had very unusual powers, they looked to be dark powers. Seeing that she can control powers over the dark, everypony turned their backs on her, shunned her even. They wanted nothing to do with her anymore, even her own friends turned their backs on her. That's not all, they also thought that's why she has those eyes, teeth and her wings looked nothing like that of a true Pegasi. Anger filled her being now and she ran away from SunnyTown, never wanting to see them again.
She then manage to arrive in Ponyville, where she met Eventide and other pony who is one of the "cursed" ponies of SunnyTown. She learned that the curse causes ponies to walk around as skeletal ponies and that it happened after she left. Talking to the two ponies caused her to talk about how those ungrateful ponies hated her and that made not only her power grow and threatened to swallow the two into ever-ending darkness, but caused her cutie mark to appear.
The real truth about her powers is because a dark and ancient being has been sealed inside her body. At times the creature would lend her its powers, or even take control of her body to cause havoc.
Notable traits: Shade's appearance is like that because of an ancient being trapped within her body at the age of birth. Sometimes the being controls her at random times and uses its dark powers through her.

Species: Unicorn
History: Sunshine came from SunnyTown like Shade, but everypony was very nice to her. When Shade's talent was known, the residents of SunnyTown thought that Sunshine was suppose to change Shade. Sunshine's real purpose is to balance out Shade's dark power with her light power, making her Shade's opposite.
She also harbors a secret: She's working for Celestia as her undercover agent. Her mission is to fail the flight test in Cloudsdale and see where the failures are sent to. As her cover, Celestia placed a Disguised Spell on her to look like a Pegasi.
Notable traits: Sunshine has the three suns cutie mark and she has the ability to produce light, if lots of her energy is released it becomes light itself. She also very bubbly and tries to stay that way no matter what happens.

History: Nightmane was orphaned at birth, sent to live with foster parents who raised him. Why his parents abandoned him, he would never know. However, his life is not that simple. He is a pony of the night. He resembles the Goddess of Night, Luna is many ways. Fur color, mane... Though, his wings are those of a bat. And his pupils are slitted slightly. Not enough to make them thin, but enough so they aren't perfect circles. The actual colors of his eyes are a dark blue, but he wears contacts to make his eyes normal, and colored a bright yellow. He was considered a freak. He always stared at the moon when it was up, almost entranced by it. He loved the dark, and would play outside at night. He counted the stars, and found every constellation known to ponykind that could be seen with the naked eye by the age of six. Ponies didn't understand him, and the other foals never went near him. Not even the nicest of the class, a filly named Soaring Breeze.
One day, as he walked outside, he found that the sun hurt his eyes. It blinded him, and made them burn to the point where he ran screaming in pain back inside the house. The doctors did not know what to do. They had never seen this before. Light would hurt his eyes... While he could see easily in the dark. What they had done was give him his contacts, that not only blocked out much of the light, and kept it nice and dark for him, but it would also hide his true eyes. To this day, he lives mostly in solitude, and stays away from the others. He simply stands by and watches them from a distance. In secrecy, he worships the night, and Luna. He does not like Celestia or the day she brings.
Notable traits: He has no cutie mark as of yet. His blind faith in the moon keeps him from discovering his true abilities, praying that the night would show him the way. His flying skills are beyond normal, attained by trying to fly to the moon nearly every night he could. Of course, he had always failed. He wishes to get to the moon one day.
