Hi Llyane, nice that you've joined us. I've reviewed your character sheet and I'm liking it so far. Can't wait to see the complete character sheet. Haha finally, someone who isn't an officer . Your character is quite unique. I like him. SBS itself is a less obvious choice compared to, say, Navy SEAL or the SAS, stuff you find on the mass media all the time. I find the descriptions of your family to be informative and it endears your character to me, makes him realistic. Good stuff!

EDIT: Also, before I forget, do tell me more about your character's alien encounter. Same as Kadeaux; if you want it to be a surprise for the rest, you could always PM me with it.

Also, Kadeaux, I've looked through your edit and it's fine. Thanks for listenin'.

I guess we just need one more person to start, though if more's coming, they'd be more than welcome. The deadline for anyone else to join would be tomorrow midnight, GMT +8, unless there are objections against that decision I will change it.

In the meantime, I might set up the UFOPAEDIA soon, which will contain the initial informations that will be available to all XCOM operatives. Also, I will be improving on the main OOC post soon to compartmentalize all the info- I think it can be overwhelming to see at times, and I will be adding more features to it that won't fit the UFOPAEDIA.

I wanted to do something other than America since that's what I'm most familiar with. I didn't even know about the SBS until I started researching the SAS. I think it was their motto that did it for me.

Good info on the dragon skin... Thanks for the tip. Finding detailed info on military armor has been proving difficult for me, so if anybody has any good links please share.

Heh, you'll find that I'm actively trying to avoid the 'America saves the world' trope. I mean really, it's a UN organisation, it concerns the entire world and from the looks of it, the United States isn't doing very well these days.

Regarding the dragon skin, I have my doubts about its effectiveness too, but then again not everything that's deployed on the battlefield is reliable. Biggest example? The M16 as compared to the AK-47, or more recently, digital camouflage is now under the glare of doubt, at least that's what I read in the local newspapers.

I think Riley is done, please let me know if you think I'm missing something.

As a side note, he thought he was just listing his immediate family, not inviting them to the facility. When Kyra and the kids show up he's going to be shocked.

*Waits patiently for RP to start, double-checks to see everyone remembered to grab NVGs so we're not stuck with XCOM issue Electro-Flares*

Worse comes to worse, a certain Finn brought his "Nite Light" with him...

I didn't see nuclear weapons mentioned.

    >Logrin

If by Nite Light you mean a torchlight or lamp then that would make you rather vulnerable...

    >Kadeaux

Nuclear weapons? Well, we'll see... I think I've spoiled enough to mention anything else :P

    >Llyane

Also, Llyane, I noticed that you're being rather incredibly detailed as to include even MREs in your list... All I did is to have 3 field packs which would contain all those entrenching tools, sandbags, field rations, etc... While my iLBV would have canteens and certain simple tools already available. I think its acceptable, but I'm just saying.

    >Everyone

I've decided to start the RP near midnight in my area, which is, say, 7 hours later... In adherence to what I said earlier. I doubt anyone else is going to join though.

    Glad the IC's going up.

And you were close, if the torch of which you speak emits a 20-55m jet of flame...
