Paradiso:
Paradiso is full of mountainous terrain, large valleys and rivers, and frozen tundras. The cold snowy land is ironically named, it being a harsh deadly habitat full of many perils. Most of these perils are just wild monsters, but there are various factions of angels who have incited Rebellion against the Host. Any Angel that has rebelled is considered one of the Fallen, at least in the eyes of the Host. The Fallen diversify themselves among their own. There are only a few major cities in Paradiso, but the Capital of Paradiso is Rome.
Host of Heaven:
Despite living where they do, the Angels have made quite a tenable living in Paradiso, due to the efforts of the Host of Heaven. The Host is everything from country to civilian life, to military conquest, and even religion. The Hierarchy of the Host equates to ranking within the Military. At the top of the hierarchical pyramid are the six Archangels which have their own Noble House. Their family lines stem long, and every Angel within the Nobility are the Seraphs. The Houses of Heaven are known by wing color and sigil.
House Raven: Black Wings, Raven Sigil
House Cardinal: Red Wings, Cardinal Sigil
House Winter: Dark Blue Wings, White Wolf Sigil
House Lords: Golden Wings, Crown Sigil
House Warlock: Auburn Wings, Black Hand Sigil
House Hawk: Brown Wings, Hawk Sigil
The Angels:
The Angels are the citizens and indigenous humanoid race that call Paradiso their home. They have large bird-like wings and superhuman strength. They are broken up into two subcategories: the Deamons, and the Seraphs.
Seraphs are the relatives of any ArchAngel and are thus Nobility. There are few Seraphs within the Host of Heaven (comparatively speaking), and all must have their wings artificially colored to match their house’s colors. Seraphs are normally expected to engage in military or religious affairs.
Deamons are the common White Winged Angels who are normally subservient to one of the six Houses. Most Deamon families pledge fealty to a House, and most able bodied sons join the military, while most women are expected to join the Clergy of the Host.
Garrison and Military:
Within the Military of the Host are the several subunits which are called Garrisons. Garrisons normally consist of about 20-30 angels and the Garrisons have a Hierarchy of their own. Only Male angels are allowed to join the Military and are pledged to different Garrisons, with the exception of a few female Angels which possess the enigmatic and rare Magic in the form of being able to knit back flesh with Healing Magic. The infantry within the Garrisons are Knights and Squires, and the leader of a Garrison is a Disciple. Within a Garrison it is up to the Disciple to choose who gets special privilege or more authority over the other Knights. Squires are simply pledged to serve different Knights before they can attain Knight-hood.
Game Play Elements:
Think Medieval times. Magic is scarce, and none of your characters will possess it unless they are a female Knight (which they will possess healing Magic). Also, this roleplay will be darker than most, and remember that your characters are all born into a harsh, almost inhospitable environment where monster and Fallen attacks are frequent if you don’t live in the cities. So likelihood is, is that your characters will be some sort of tough.
