Despite its obvious interpretation, the Death card actually only signals a life altering change that you may have no control over. When reversed, this card signals fighting inevitable change.

For someone who's quite new to graphics (from what I gathered from the way you worded the thread?) you're doing very well! Especially considering you're using GIMP, which in my opinion is a very difficult program to work with. I know when I was starting out, I had trouble with transparency, I found it impossible. So well done to you for that. You seem to be doing very well. I have a couple of tips, though.

I think the biggest thing you need to work on is your renders - you can see it most on the River Song signature (DOCTOR WHO<333) - around her hair and everything, you can see the cut out lines. That's not really too much of a problem though, thats just something you need to sit down and really take your time with. Or you could just specifically look up Renders/PNGs of the character, which is what I do a lot of the time.

The only other thing I would suggest would be to mess around with other fonts - the one you use is very very popular right now and kind of makes it look mainstream and common - do you download them from Dafont? That's a fab place to look for fonts, they have tonnes And this is a good site for textures and stocks too, there's hundreds there It also has some Star Textures too

All in all, you're doing really great for someone so new to graphics! Keep up the good work

My renders do kind of suck, and the River Song one was one of my beginning pieces. Given my situation at home, downloading fonts is a pain in the neck with my dad, but it's been done a couple times. And I see you notice I have a thing for stars... Stars go with everything. XD

No problem! Deviant art also has a whole lot of Star Textures which are usually free as long as you credit the user This person has some good ones for you to download (If you can). You do need WinZip to do it though, but you can download that free too.

And even if you can't do that, Google Image has some good one's too - though I'd suggest following the image back to the original website (Click the picture in Google > Then click the little blue "X" in the top right corner of the picture, before you click "See full size image".) Usually that will take you to the original

Thank you sooo much. I'll hopefully use those in some of my tarot cards that are Doctor Who themed. :3 I downloaded a couple of packs of the star stuff and downloaded a bunch of fonts I'll bug my dad to install later. :3

Ms. Paint! Classy as ever! Love how this one turned out. :3 Homestuck sets can be easy because if you're lucky you can get a pre-rendered version of the character. Had the same thing with Maplehoof. I'm happy. :3

I love how these turned out! The transparency text thingy just makes me very happy, and I like how my Gizmo render turned out. Hooray for Mogwais!
