Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a blaster at your side.

I am thinking of a starwars RP with very minimal force influence. Lets say between episode s 3 and 4 during the jedi purge. There is a substantial bounty for functional lightsabers but an even greater reward for anyone brought in alive caught using one. If you HAVE to play a force sensitive, the limit will be either 1 force power you are skilled enough to warrant the empires off-world attention from the jedi-hunters(jedi knight/sith apprentice strength) 2 skills that you are good enough to make a living but also enough to attract attention from an observant agent on the same planet as you (padawan strength) or three tricks that are weak enough to go about through life mostly ignored unless an agent is within a mile of your activity. Again, I am really aiming for a non-force using game.

As this will be taking place during the dark times, all other alien species except for the Muuns will be getting pushed back to the outer rim territories. Wookiees will most likely be enslaved at this point by the empires connection with the Trandoshians. The rebellion is on the rise.

    So...Any takers?

"I've got a bad feeling about this..."

    Count me in!

Is this kinda like Star Wars 1313 where the character isnt a force user?

Yes, hopefully. 1313, republic commando, bounty hunter, Lethal alliance, (first half of KOTOR )

there is enough tech, cybernetics, and alien abilities that we shouldn't see any sign of force users.

Since this is 3-4 I would be hard pressed to see any Vong presence either. If someone was an explorer into the outer reaches, then they might have encountered some biotech, but that would be a one-person only sort of thing.

I'm interested, provided armour doesn't make one invincible.

What most people don't realize is that Star Wars was designed as a Western. It's all about the quick draw and the gunslinging. Sure, a suit of heavy armour like the Mandalorians wear might help you survive a few blasts but considering they cost almost as much as a droid you're not going to want to get hit.

stormtrooper armor was some of the most advanced armors available and cost over 5000 credits for each and every suit of armor. Yet one shot knocks them on the floor. Vader, wearing a sith enhanced flight suit, still died in the end in his sons arms. Boba Fett, wearing mandalorian armor, took one hit and fell out of the sky into the sarlac pit.

Yes he climbed out and went on to become a fan favorite but the armor only saved him from death, it didn't allow him to run around like a Juggernaut. Same will go for this RP, Armor will save you from death once per fight but still knocks you on the ground or takes you out of the fight without needing to swim in bacta tanks after every fight.
Armor often provides a benefit or an ability that is far more important then the actual defense itself. Boba's/Jango's armor had a jetpack and loads of tech set in it at easy reach which is part of what made them such amazing bounty hunters.

Depends on the suit I guess. Special forces may be different but Standard troopers wore crappy duraplast. It wasn't meant to provide protection against blasters but against citizens wielding rocks, sticks and improvised weapons. (And yet- the Ewoks did some trouncing...?)Standard trooper tactics against those using blasters was to simply overwhelm with numbers and consider a percentage loss acceptable.

Interestingly enough, their TIE fighters follow similar principles. Cheap and expendable, they have no shields at all, relying on speed and the power of the horde to prevail It's the German Blitzkrieg!
