Operation Broken Wing: Sons of Liberty (IC)

    "And there..."

A man and a woman were standing in the living room of a rather large expensive, and luxurious home. The furnishing was top of the line, a flat screen TV occupied the wall as did a very nice fire place and a few random paintings and family portraits. The woman who spoke was on a knee adjusting a vest that was now firmly secure on the male who was laying down the couch, unconscious it would appear.

"Hey, hey, need to wake up now, Kevin."

The man on the couch was wearing black slacks with a black belt that had a nice silver buckle. His shoes were suede and the button-down shirt he wore was white and from Men's Warehouse. The sleeves were rolled up to about half way up the forearms, sweat dripped from his brow and as he was coming too he began to hyperventilate a bit due to the overwhelming stress that was placed on him from having three totally complete strangers just invade his home.

"Kevin, calm down, your going to be ok, for now alright?"

Kevin just nodded, he wasn't calm at all, his throat was dry and his body was persperating at a rapid rate, due to his fluxuating heartrate and level of anxiety.

"Kevin, look down, that is a vest, this vest holds several pounds of explosives, these explosives are for you to bring to Wall Street, this is the controller. If you let it go you go boom, if you don't do this your family will die."

A young women on que was dragged into Kevin's view by the man. She was unconscious and in lingerie.

"She is quite beautiful, she was waiting up stairs for you when you walked through the door. Unfortunately she will never have a chance to ever have intimacy with you again, but you have the power to give her another chance at life and live another day. Just remember, whatever you do, wherever you go, we will be watching, so don't try anything funny." The man's stated, hate in his gaze.

Kevin started screaming but to no avail since duct tape sealed his mouth.

The woman who was knelt before Kevin got up on his feet and ripped off the duct tape after the yelling ceased.

"She won't be touched, as long as you do your job, you have one hour."

    *****************************

Forty-Five Minutes later...Center of Wall Street

Kevin was wearing a heavy jacket over his vest and kept the arming device pressed down in his pocket as he got off the bus. People were everywhere, and he knew if he followed through thousands would be killed. Thousands of people who were just like him, Kevin could only revert back to his family, he would rather die and take those with him than allow his wife to be killed, raped, or beaten, his daughter would follow the same fate, and his little boy would probably just be executed.

Kevin shook his head of the reoccurring thoughts and pressed on slowly.

Kevin eventually reached the center of Wall Street, it was time...

Without hesitation he threw off his coat and one female saw the device and yelled, "Bomb!"

This instantaneously created chaos and confusion as every immediately ran the opposite direction of Kevin. The people ran inside and toward buildings. They scurried into alleys and people abandoned their cars. Sirens could already be heard seconds later and a chopper was into view which seemed only seconds after the revealing.

Kevin took a deep breath, squad cars entered the area as police barricaded all exits and entrances. Guns were drawn on Kevin and the directions commenced to persuade Kevin to stop. Kevin took one last deep breath and let the trigger go, but he did not explode. The cops took cover thinking as well that he was going to explode. Instead explosions began erupting within the buildings that lined Wall Street. Destruction was the only way to describe such a scene as the energy levels of the explosions poured out on to the street pushing cops against their vehicles and throwing lives out the windows and doors of the occupied buildings. Wall Street just became a war zone. Banks and Federal buildings were all hit down Wall Street.

Kevin didn't understand, and then a phone call rang in on his vest. The vest clicked on and a timer was now visible from the screen of the phone.

    5...4...3...2...1...

The last explosion occurred in the center of Wall Street throwing whoever was now just getting up from the previous explosions, people were tossed like rag dolls, smoke, and debri filled the air, as concrete chips lay strewn across the way.

    FIST - Eva:

Robert and Eva finished the job, putting Kevin in their vehicle and being careful as to where to let him out. They stopped by their pad on the way downtown and picked up two more of her guys, Kamil and Daniel.

Eva showed Kevin the trigger switch and nodded, "Alright, buddy. You know what to do. Fuck this up and you can't imagine the horror your family will experience."

A tear slid down the man's face as she got out and helped him out of the back of the car, hiding them a bit in the shadows of a nearby alley. She patted his back and got back in the car, looking over at Robert, "Pull around just so and let's watch the show."

They waited a few minutes and lost sight of him, but she knew he would show. No doubt at all.

"There he is..." Eva whispered to the men in the dark grey Lexus with her. Their spot on Wall Street perfectly positioned to watch all that would go down that morning and yet not within range of suffering from the necessary casualties. She looked over at Kamil, his concentration on the laptop in front of him unbreakable. He was ready for any and everything to go wrong. If something misfired, Kamil would be ready to wield technology as a weapon and cause the explosions to detonate no matter what.

She watched the banker walk into the street, the first explosion and then the look of confusion on his bloated face. "Now...” she whispered and Kamil chuckled as he pressed a series of keys.

She looked back and smiled at Daniel while reaching her hand out to squeeze Roberts thigh.

"Alright boys... lets watch the shit go down and head back home."

    CASTLE - Hawkes
    (posting for IlikeRP)

Hawkes hadn’t had the TV on 5 minutes when the news flash came on and announced a double bombing in the Financial district, Hawkes was up and sprinting out of his quarters and across the compound to the Operations building. Once inside, the entire building was a flurry of Intel and Information gathering geeks scurrying around like ants in a mad dash to correlate as much as the info provided from the local news feeds as possible. Hawkes had several near collisions as he made his way to the situation room, but a few quick twists of his hips and he was standing at the door and pressing the code upon the keypad, walking in as the door slid open.

As Hawkes entered the room, news feeds from every local station was being displayed on the wall of monitors, by now the news was about the aftermath and devastation of the bombing. Hawkes stopped by the tech geek running the video board and had him pick a news feed and rewind it and play it up on the main screen. He turned and watched as police cars had a man, wearing a vest of explosives, cordoned off, then watched as the man released the trigger and instantly a series of explosions went off in the nearby buildings, then moments later he watched as the man instantly disappeared and was gone in a second explosion.

Hawkes had the Tech record the video feed then rewound the recorded video and replayed it five different times before having him stop." Ok focus in on the guys face and expand....ok now clean up the image...good...send that pic for identification, I want a name to go with that face, and get a pic of that vest, send it to the bomb techs and call the Director in."

"Good Morning, Madame Director, I got something here I think you should see. I know your busy, but this will only take a moment." He motioned for the tech to start the video then he pointed to the guy on the screen. ''Ok run it and zoom in on the bombers face, run it in slow motion as well, Thanks."

Then he turned back to the main screen and pointed at the bomber. "Ok...now watch this guy’s face....here he lets go of the trigger and in the background the buildings explode...but look at his face, does he not looked stunned and confused?...just as if he wasn’t expecting that to happen.... now watch his face closely here....ok, here he sees something on the middle of the vest light up and looks down.....Looks like he's thinking ' OH Shit ', wouldn’t you say?....ok, if you know you’re going to blow yourself up and take a lot of people with you, why look surprised when you release the trigger and buildings blow up behind you?....then, why the " oh shit look" , when you look down and see something light up on your vest?....I think this guy was a diversion, and I'll show you why".

Hawkes turned back to the Tech and had him rewind the video. "Ok this time focus on the guys crotch...yes I said crotch," the Tech did as told and Hawkes turned back to the screen, " ok...watch, Here he releases the trigger expecting to die, and as you can see his crotch is dry....but explosions occur down the street and he looks shocked about it....now here...he looks down at the vest, sees the light and thinks oh shit...but look at his crotch area now....see the dark discolored growing spot....he's pissing all over himself as if he suddenly knows he's going to die, am positive this guy was a diversion....or something, and I’m positive he wasn’t there willingly."

    CASTLE - Director Landon:

Vivian walked into the pristine building that castle was housed in, quite pleased that she was working for a division of the government that actually existed this time. In her tenure she'd existed and ceased to more times that she could count, but this would be a good job to ride out to retirement. She nodded as multiple people acknowledged her, her face pleasant, but stern. Being a woman in a man's world was hard enough, but being an attractive one - damn near impossible.

She stepped into the elevator and smoothed her pinstripe skirt and jacket, looking professional as always. Her white undershirt was starched perfectly and her red lipstick would be the only lively color one could find on the staunch director. She watched the door began to close as her assistant, Katie slipped in, coffee in one hand a folder in the other.

"Director, so glad I caught you. I was waiting for you at the front, but you must have slipped by me." The young girl extended the coffee and pressed the bottom for the top floor of the high-rise they occupied. New York had wised up a few years ago and dispersed most of their special forces teams into different business centers to firstly keep them diversified and not concentrated in case of terrorist attack, and secondly, to fit in to society without most taking notice of them sneaking around in the shadows.

CASTLE was unheard of in most circles, but those that needed to know - knew. Being selective with information about their comings and goings was a far cry from her days with the CIA black ops teams. She was a different woman there - at least most believed that to be true.

She took the coffee from the girl and nodded, "Once an agent, always an agent. Tell me why you were stalking me."

The girl laughed and cleared her throat. Having worked for the director for over six years, she was one of the only people that got to see Vivian Landon relax or appear somewhat human.

"Agent Hawkes is here and in the media room, ma'am. I assume something large has occurred, and after looking into it quickly, there was a bombing downtown. You need to be prepared, so I pulled up this from the boys in blue."

She handed Vivian a folder to scan as the elevator opened and they walked toward the media room, Hawkes already inside. She looked up from the folder, handed it to Katie and drank her coffee as Hawkes informed her of what happened. When he concluded speaking and pointing out his finding she nodded.

"As always, good catch, Templar." She took a sip of her coffee and winced. The shit was hot. "Gather your team and get your asses down there. I want you to call jurisdiction on this before Marcus and his boys dick up the scene. Let them deal with the tragedy of the moment - you deal with the reality that evidence is whisping away as we speak."

She turned to go, stopping at the door and gazing back at the handsome man. "I want to hear from you by five this evening - a complete update and is FIST is involved, I want to retaliate and respond like nothing we've ever done before. I'm beyond tired of watching them squelch freedom... one death at time."

    CASTLE - HAWKES

Hawkes was pretty certain whatever evidence there was had been obliterated when the bomber exploded into nothing more but a fine mist of red, but she was the Boss, and the Boss wanted answers. He nodded and responded to the Director," Aye aye Director, we're on it ". Hawkes took out his cellphone and dailed in the code, Each Team members cellphone had been modified with special chip that when activated by the code, link all the members cellphone to a CASTLE comm satellite, putting all their phones on the same signal and thereby making it possible to communicate with them all at the same time, an alert would sound on each cellphone when the satellite link was established.

Hawkes kept the message short and sweet after the alert tone ended, " Opts briefing room, in one hour ", then closed the phone and headed for the computer lab , again dodging and weaving around the scurrying Tech geeks, he went inside, held up a copied image of the bomber and called out, " WHO'S WORKING ON IDENTIFYING THIS MAN ?", one of the geeks working at a computer waved his hand and Hawkes went over to him, " Dont bother with the Criminal or Terrorist databases, Tap into the Dept. of Motor Vechicles and access driver records. I need a name to go with this image, and I need it yesterday..dont sit there staring at me, get on it ".

    FIST - 'The Nailer'

Robert smiled at Eva, keeping the qualms he suddenly found himself having to himself. He had always been a precision, one shot, one kill, no dirty stuff. Bombs had always ticked him off, due to the excessive randomness of the targets. He had worked a long time in the military, and he was used to taking extra precautions to make sure that there was no collateral damage. Because if there was... shit flied, usually at him. But Eva was right. A simple shot-kill deal wouldn't pass on the declaration of war that was needed. It could easily be misconstrued as a vengeance thing, and would require one hell of a long shot, and FIST didn't work with long shots.

Bob watched the explosions, and holding his face like a mask, he switched on the car, and turned it around. going fast enough to make it look like they were fleeing the scene, and still staying under the speed limit, to not attract attention from anyone. He had been against them being this close, but Eva had insisted, even after he offered the idea for them to get a home theater, and the computer expert to have them tap the security cameras, while eating popcorn, and still have that touch on the moment. But, she was determined to watch the show real-time, so he agreed. She had been there to recruit him. He had immediately felt that tug, and they had been dating ever since. He liked her style, and she liked his...well, she never did elaborate on what she liked about him, but he didn't care.

He made his way through an increasingly panicky New York City, and he couldn't help but feel that adrenaline rush. They had been planning this for a long time, and now, there was no turning back. Now, the proverbial shit had hit the proverbial fan, and it was time to get to get paid for all their hard work.

"That's for you, Justin," He said beneath his breath, and now, a real smile, more like a triumphant smirk, creased his face, as he looked at Eva," It's started babe. Now let's get this show on the road."
It is for people like me that, on the eighth day, God said," Let there be firearms."

And God saith unto him,"And here is my Eleventh commandment: Thou shalt not get caught."

To those that dare take me too seriously, I say," I am the living proof that God hath a sense of humor!"

    F.I.S.T- Siena

Siena was waiting now, sitting on top of a tall building in the financial district. It was one of the few safe from the carefully placed explosives but she was still dangerously close the chaos with buildings on either side ready to blow. Eva didn’t know where Siena was exactly, mostly because she would freak, but she was aware of the next step she was about to take. The sisters were a pair, each a side of coin. Where Eva was all about function Siena enjoyed the flourish and in a situation where half the battle was making a scene Siena offered a very important service, in her own mind any way.

As the explosives went off and the buildings around her dropped Siena kept covered in the roof access of the old, mostly unused building she had chosen. It was a very dramatic looking place with classic architecture but what made it useful to Siena was the building’s sound system, particularly the bits that pointed outward. The age of the building made the security low and so it was easy for her to tap into the system, only needing to pull the access wires and plug in a brand new MP3 player.Once the explosion went off she stepped out and made her way to the edge of the roof and looking down as the buildings settled and a split second of silence consumed everything. People froze and looked about, stuck in time, till the second explosion with in a large bank that sent glass everywhere. Everyone now started screaming and those in cars sped away in fear, not worrying about who they hit as they went, while the others just ran or cowered under what they could.

It was time, people were still processing what happened and chaos was high. Siena now stepped forward, standing on the edge of the roof. She wore loose and ripped jeans, long sleeve hoody and a plain white mask that covered everything but her mouth so as to enable her to breath easier. It was an image not new to the New York crowd as Siena had spent the last year free running over the cities most iconic areas, gaining large amounts of attention with her dangerous stunts. Eva had hated it but once Siena made the news, named ‘The Spirit of New York’, Eva had slacked her anger. Now as Siena stepped forward on the only standing building viewable from the center of chaos it did not take long for people to see her and turn, pointing and calling out. They had no idea she was part of F.I.S.T, or even was a girl for that matter, but it didn’t matter now.

“It has begun!” A loud voice could be heard, computerized and asexual, coming from the old and crackling speakers. “Never let the bastards keep you down.” With that Siena shifted grabbed the MP3 player and ran, jumping in a great leap from the back of the old building and right onto the roof of the building behind her. The MP3 was new, never handled without gloves, whipped clean often just in case, and loaded with only the one file created on a single use computer that was first stolen then destroyed, but she wasn’t going to leave it there anyway. Eva was going to be both pissed and pleased when she heard of this and Siena couldnt help but smile at the idea.

    CASTLE-Leon Grace

Leon was one of the first to step into the op room, dressed in his normal clothing, a dark blue policeman's uniform only without all the tassels and badges. The sleeves on it were rolled up showing half of the Bomeo tattoo going up his arm, the shirt concealed the full upper-front body tattoo. He had black slacks on and black combat boots. His casual. On his ribs was his pistol holster for a quick draw with the K-BAR from his military days on the other side of the holster in a knife sheath.

He took his place at a chair and waited for the others. In his mind, he went over the letter he got last week from his sister Violet for the 18th time now. He hadn't heard from her since she was drummed out and this letter that he got was not the news he wanted. She had joined up with the sons of liberty and he was debating giving the letter to his CO. He probably won't. He won't betray family. The real problem on his mind was having the thought that he may have to put a bullet in his sister's head. He ran his right hand through his hair and sighed, angry.

    Sons Of Liberty-Violet Grace

The sight of the bomb from her apartment window made her heart sink. She knew exactly who set it off, least the faction any ways, and it made her regret her decision to join, but only for a moment when she realized that they had this coming. She got her things together and flew out the door, she had to flee, just in case.

She already knew she was being watched by her neighbors because of her leaving constantly during the night. Didn't help that she was never quiet when she left because this damned apartment building was so annoyingly loud. Made her almost wish her brother was here to try and show her how to move through fall leaves without a sound.

She got down stairs and into her car and drove off, trying to look as unsuspicious as humanly possible. Which probably failed horribly.

    CASTLE - Gregory Kozak

The sound of the alarm brought Kozak out of a deep, dark dream and into the hazy morning reality. He couldn't remember what he'd been dreaming about, but he was glad that it was over. There was a stirring behind him, and a feminine arm draped itself around his waist.

    "What's up?"

Emily's groggy voice brough him completely out of the dream-stupor. He knew she hated it when he had to work, but the CASTLE alarm only went off when there was something important going on. He reached for his cell phone to check the time, and saw that he had a new text message. It was recent enough.

    Channel 10.

His curiosity piqued, he grabbed the remote and used it to turn on the television, then change the channel. Emily was thoroughly disgruntled with him at this point, and had turned back over--he seldom shared work details with her, and she wasn't fond of him having to leave every time a call went out, no matter how important his job was.

She couldn't ignore the scene on the television, though, which showed a reporter discussing a recent bombing on Wall Street.

    "What the..."

Emily sat up next to him and stared at the screen. As Kozak prepared to offer her a comforting embrace, his phone went off again... one look at the message told him that it was time to move.

    --

Kozak edged into the conference room where Hawkes was giving a debriefing of the situation to the director and a handful of others that he recognized. He hadn't bothered to change into fatigues yet, and instead wore black slacks and a white button-down shirt, the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. He leaned against the wall, not wanting to draw too much attention to himself by taking a seat, and crossed his arms.

He wasn't sure exactly what had happened (beyond the basics--he knew that a bombing had occurred) or what CASTLE's response to the situation was going to be, and as such, he listened to Hawkes' every word. He was a civilian, had never been military, but he still absorbed information quite readily, especially when it was as vital as the information he'd get here.

American citizens had been killed on American soil, right here in New York. Kozak was open to all the information he could get...

    Fist - Daniel McQueen

Daniel watched the fear, terror in Kevin's eyes just before he left the car. It was a look he unfortunately knew all to well, giving him the chills as the vehicle swung aroung and began to watch him. As the explosions started to go off debris, men, and women were thrown from and out of the buildings. He looked away and closed his eyes as Kevin himself exploded, Dan blacked out. He awoke seconds later gripping his pants with his fists and seeing that Eva took a glance so he just took deep breaths to help relax, like he was taught in the army.

Dan pulled out a Newport cigarette, light up with his zippo lighter and breathed in the smoke. He hoped to further relax himself, as the deep breaths weren't working, they never did. Then exhaling, he asked, "so where we headed, whats our next gig?" He tapped the cigarette that was hanging outside the window than took a long, sweet drag.
There's no such thing as a bad idea.
