It's modern day, and the city above the sea that Selmina lived in was called Miami.
She didn't know much about the land, but the water was alway warm and clear.
During the day, the sea was occupied by the humans. They were swiming and playing on the waves.
While the sun stood high in the sky, Selmina was mostly sleeping on the deep ocean bottom.
But when the moon stood high in the sky, such as tonight, Selmina useally made her to the surface.
She enjoyed spying on the humans from a safe distans, of course.

This night, when she carefully came to the surface, she immediatly heard some loud noises from the beach.
She didn't see what was going on, and dived back into the ocean.
She swam closer to the beach, and hid behind a huge rock.
When she looked at the bach and the humans again, she noticed that they semed to have some kind of celibration.
They were singing, dancing and jumping around - clearly happy.
Selmina smiled at little as she looked at them. She had never seen them like that before.
