    Contest OOC

    So without posting Character Sheets, I really dont know what I should put in the first post other than Setting ideas... So here goes.

    Creepy castle:
    Pretty self explanatory. The castle sits on top of some precarious perch (I'm thinking a ridiculously snowy mountain.) It is comprised of an outer wall, with a large courtyard all the way around the central building. The four corners of the wall are made up of four ridiculously tall towers, each with a different colored roof. (red, blue, green, and yellow) The central building is approximately four stories, and there are a large number of crimson, tattered banners flapping wildly in the harsh wind. No one has lived here in a very long time, yet a light shines from the highest window in the central building. Characters will start in various places of the castle according to their goal, including (but not limited to) the castle gates, the central dungeon, and the main dining hall.

    The goals in mind for this location are rather straight forward, though they may be fraught with more danger than other areas.

    Bustling shopping block (fantasy):
    All sorts of strange creatures come here for their needed groceries, reagents, and body parts. This block of the city is known for it's odd stores and residents. The streets are of cobblestones, the buildings wood or brick, and most of the residents travel on foot, though it isn't odd to see someone fly by or traverse the streets via horse. Places of interest include the dead-man's restaraunt, the old hag's potion palace, and the underground sewer system. Players will begin in various places and placed in various roles such as a hobo, a shopkeeper, or a street performer.

    The goals in mind for this location are rather round-about, and will require more interaction with other players than other areas.

    Deep space (sci-fi):
    Aboard a luxury space cruiser somewhere in an unnamed entertainment galaxy, secrets and rumors abound. From an undercover planetary president just trying to have a good time to a lady of the evening doing her best to sate her taste for decadent alien flesh, there's sure to be thrills everywhere in this setting. Places of interest include the huge shopping mall, the observatory deck, (complete with an expansive jungle garden, including some not-so-friendly fauna!) and the andromeda casino. Players will take vastly varied roles such as proffesional gamblers, girls on shopping sprees, or one of a number of proffesional occupationists on vacation.

    Surreal Madhouse:
    Somwhere beyond the forest of hate, settled in the canyon of forgetfulness, lies the Madhouse. It is like a resort for the denizens of the mad world which we live in. You have been invited here due to your impressive records of insanity! Please take time to converse with our residents about all manner of important things, such as why the rain comes down instead of up, or why it takes hours for the minutes to pass. We hope you enjoy our befitting recreational centers, such as the hall of schizophrenic mirrors, or the room of honest paranoia! We hope you enjoy your stay.

    (This setting is even farther out there than you could imagine. It's filled with a vast majority of secrets--some very dark--for the players to discover.)
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Anybody else have any interesting ideas? Or want to put their two cents in on these?
    Oh yeah!
    Rules: (though I don't think I'll have any problems with this group.)
    -Post in first person.
    -Do not give information to other players outside of the IC, you may wish you hadn't.
    -Do not do something "just because it's your goal." This is still a roleplay, and sometimes your character may not fully understand your goal. If I question your character's motive, I will pm you. If you can't convince me, I will ask you to revise your post.
    -Do not assume that your character's actions are absolute. Please leave any interaction with any part of the environment open-ended. As I have many a puzzling situation in mind.
    -Again, don't give out information to other players outside of the IC. Even if it's to help you get toward your goal, this obstacle is intended to be part of the fun of the roleplay, and other players probably won't appreciate you ruining their fun.
    - If you have a question about something, pm me! I'll be glad to answer questions that don't give anything away.
    There are a few like that in mind. Obviously there has to be less of those than positive. There are even some... never mind, I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise. I've been thinking outside the box. *smiles maliciously*
    Oh, and feel free to post any suggestions. They don't even need to be thought out. They could just be a minor idea.
    I like the Sci-Fi one and Creepy Castle about the same, while the fantasy shopping block is my least favorite, however, I will be fine if you do.it. I'd suggest a fourth one that's either modern day or another futuristic setting to sort of balance things out.
    Well there'll be more than these. I'll keep it going until there's a clear leader. When we have that if we want to keep going I'll just reset the scores. I'll continue to add new setting ideas to the list as they are fleshed out in my head and I'm constantly thinking of random stuff... Change can vouch...
    I think my vote would go for the creepy castle one, but I'm not picky.
    Thanks for the input. Again, feel free to shoot out ideas. Different kinds of mythology? (Hmm... Oriental... fun...) Maybe something surreal? (I'm already working on a surrealism setting, but any suggestions would be nice.)
    Vague ideas in my head that I'm still working on for this: (some of these are farther along than others. I'm doing a lot of behind the scenes stuff for this so that I won't just be pulling it out of my ass as I go.)
    Surreal madhouse (Imagine that the Mad Hatter got the chance to design a whole world)
    Battlefield conspiracy
    Royal Ball.
    Surreal madhouse. <3
    My vote. All the way.
    And yes, Dyffri's head has been whirring with random ideas.... One or two of which have been used to confuse me in the form of random texts. -.-
