"Cincinnati was way worse than it is here." I said softly and looked at the ground. "You got shot at or your ass beat for knowing or dating someone in one gang and going on the other side of the town." I added. It was crazy. I'd been one of them to get beat on by the other gang. They didn't care if you were a girl or guy, they'd beat you anyway.

"A man never lays his hands on a woman. If you do, you're less than man. A monster I say." I grew angry at the thought. I hated the filth I could be associated with just because I was a part of a gang. So many people had to make a bad image for my way of life. "We're just people trying to have a good time. Yet someone's always trying to fuck it all up." I didn't realise until I finished that I was thinking aloud.

[Country Girl]

"That was how my mother saw things. And my dad didn't like it. He's the reason things happened to my family that shouldn't have/ And now he's trying to do the same things here that he did in Cincinnati. But what he doesn't understand is there is no stopping it. Everyone has their own life, they can do what they want with it." I said softly, keeping my eyes on the ground. I'd learned the man who raped me and raped and murdered my mother wasn't a gang member. He was just a rapeist and rapes weren't good enough, so he had started to kill after the rape.

"I get the feeling there's something you're not telling me. Correct me if I'm wrong but is there?" I sat up looking at the girl under the full moon's light. She shined like the stars.

I sighed softly, keeping my eyes on the ground as I spoke. "My mother was raped and murdered in front of me when I was five on our way back from the park in Cincinnati, after the man had murdered her...he turned to me...then he raped me and swore while he beat me that he'd never be caught, then he left me for dead...my father was too busy with work, work was more important than family was to him...and it still is, he doesn't do anything to remember my mother by. The man who did it, he's still out there...I'm not sure where, but I know he said that if I didn't die, and he heard about it, he'd come back to finish me off the same way he did to my mother. My father didn't put out missing persons on me or my mother. He didn't visit me in the hospital either..." I explained. There was one thing I left out. My father was the new chief of police.

I thought to myself how her father had to have to have some reason for doing what he did. Either that or he was shit for a person. "I'm sorry about that. I can see why you have this grudge against your dad now. I'd say I understand but I don't. I do know one thing though. If that man ever came back for you, all you have to do is call me and I'd be right over. to kick his ass and then some." I laid back and looked at the stars. My fingers tingled on the blades.

It was pretty sad I was the police chiefs daughter and a guy I'd met at a party was more willing to protect me than my own father. It hurt to tell the truth and felt good at the same time. For once someone wanted to protect me.

I don;t know why but I had this strange urge and I had to act upon it. I slid over and put my arm around the girl as we looked at the sky. "I don't know why but I feel like saying this. I'll protect you no matter what. No matter who it is, or the circumstances. I'll keep you safe. you won't have to worry about that man or your father or anyone. I'm here." It felt good to be there. To have my arm around her. There was only two things on my mind. One, I was going to keep my promise. And two, these pills...They made her skin feel like rose petals.

I felt myself blush as he put his arm around me. It was weird, I liked the feeling on his arm around me. I did feel safe, now it felt as though I'd have to tell him. But I had no clue how to tell him I was the police chiefs daughter. And not only that, if I made one wrong move, my dad would have no choice to arrest me or I'd do something and the other gang would find out I was the daughter of the police chief and I'd be screwed over big time. I was already kind of screwed over.

I notice the girl blush as I put my arm around her, and she didn't push me away. So I took my hand and ran it across her cheeks, pushing her hair back. Her skin felt warm and soft under my fingertips. Even warmer under the affect of the pill. I knew she was feeling it too.
