No.
Just no.
"And on the pedestal these words appear: 'My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: look on my works, ye mighty, and despair.'"
Never.
"And on the pedestal these words appear: 'My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: look on my works, ye mighty, and despair.'"
Don't try to deny it, man, we all know your deepest fantasies involve a more-perverted version of yourself.
Since we are tossing opinions at the rate of Liking a Repost on Facebook I shall share mine.
Relationships are based on respect among a plethora of other things. I don't care if who I am with doesn't like the same things as me all the time. Becoming so involved in the other's life to such an extreme degree is unhealthy. It doesn't give you the time you need to develop as your own person. Some mutual interests are okay, too many is asking for trouble.
On the other hand you have compromise. Yes, it is a factor in all of this. If I care about the other person I will indulge their tastes from time to time, because it makes them happy. For me their happiness makes the experience worth having, not the activity.
Third and most important is honesty. From the first day I am with someone I am truthful with them. By that same token I don't actively criticize their choices on matters of personal preference, that is in poor taste. Case in point, your significant other asking how they look: It matters to them how you perceive them so they are asking. If something makes them look bad and they are sensitive then look for a tactful way to put it. If they aren't I suppose you can be honest. It depends on the person how to phrase it, but the premise is the same regardless of the type of person they are. When it comes time for the big questions that need to be answered they won't have reason to think you're lying to them or omitting information. Why is that? Because you have been honest with them the whole time.
