Gotham Knights

( This is going to be a serise of various Batman family stories )


The air smelled of ash and the unmistakable smell of death. Gotham city isn't known for it's buildings or its food. But it is known for it's infamous villains and heroes. The night was the time for the known crusaders and killers of Gotham to come out and play.

Batgirl 3, Black Bat, and Oracle:
The city was filled with ants. Well that was what Stephanie Brown knew it to look like from the rooftops.

Stephanie was the new Batgirl in Gotham. She is trying her hardest to keep the streets clean and live up to her new name. Standing behind her was her mentors eyes and ears on the field. The Black Bat A.K.A Cassandra Cain the former Batgirl.

Being the third Batgirl Stephanie needed to be watched but since Barbara Gordon the first Bat girl was handicapped and in a wheel chair that wouldn't work. Cassandra nudged Stephanie telling her to keep moving. Stephanie then shot her grappling hook and got to the next building where she proceded to run on the roof top. Then a small buzzing came over the intercom and Barbara's voice came on " Hey girls, a bank robbery has been reported down on 5fth. Hurry." Then the buzzing went away and Stephanie took a quick turn and jumped down the building to a lower one where she saw a few cop cars parked outside of the Newman's bank. Cassandra suddenly glided infront of Stephanie and told her "Ok we need to get in from the alley. Be ready for anything"

Batgirl 3, Black Bat, and Oracle Part II:

Stephanie jumped down the building hitting her boots on the rough concrete floor of the banks back alley. She whipped out her explosive gel and made a heart on the wall. She waited for Cassandra to get behind her before the explosive was detonated. A small buzzing came through the comm but it wasn't as clear as before. All Cassandra and Stephanie heard was " ZZZZZZZZ get ZZZZZZZ now." They couldn't make it up but they decided to ignore it.

The gel exploded leaving a gaping hole in the wall and a few goons on the ground. Stephanie walked over them and got a batarang ready to fling at any harm that got in her way. Cassandra just stayed alert keeping her hands in fists. A laugh was able to be heard from the room they were in but the girls couldn't make out who's mouth it came from.

They entered a long hallway that led around the bank. Cassandra went to the left and Stephanie went to the right. The buzzing had gotten so loud that Stephanie threw off her comm. and stuffed it in her utility belt. A door was visable at the end of the hallway. Stephanie approached with caution. She silently opened the door and crouched down into the main room of the bank. The reception area.

As Stephanie went down the right hallway Cassandra went down the left. Her comm. stayed buzzing but Cassandra ignored it. She found a door on the side wall which form the looks of her mini map led into where the money was stored. She kicked down the door and put on her gas mask. She then imediatly threw down knockout gas which flooded the room instantly. A few thuds were heard and the room was suddenly less foggy from the gas. Cassandra walked around finding she had knocked out two goons wearing red lipstick and a painted on larger smile. That's when she noticed what Barbara had said. " Get out "

Batgirl 3, Black Bat, and Oracle:

Stephanie heard a familiar laugh from behind the counter. " Oh no! The police is here to stop me! Get em' boys." the voice said to his goons. A series of gunshots hit the windows leaving crashing glass to deafen her ears. She poked a hole in the wood and saw 6 men wearing trench coats. Then the leader of the pack turned around to where Stephanie could see his face. It was The Joker. Stephanie's eyes widened and she started breathing heavily. A long laugh filled the room and then Stephanie saw Cassandra in the vent above The Joker ready to get the drop on him.

Cassandra jumped into an air-vent that was inside the room and crawled over to where a vent lead into the main room. She looked down into the room and saw the man himself standing under her. She then noticed Stephanie had made it into the room and was hiding behind the reception desk. Cassandra nodded at her noticing Stephanie had noticed her. Cassandra kicked the vent shaft down on top of The Joker. It hit the mad man knocking him to the floor. He laughed saying " Thats not funny. " he then pointed his gun at the room and started blasting.

Luckily Cassandra had made it down behind him before he could get up. She then kicked his legs making him topple. But The Joker was ready and he set off a laughing gas bomb. Stephanie and Cassandra put on their gas masks then ran out of the building. Their masks didn't work well on the gas so they usually left the area.

The Joker had gotten away but Stephanie and Cassandra knew it wasn't going to be the last they see of that wretched man.
