    Welcome to Chaos!

There was a world, long ago, where humans were at their finest. They were geniuses, masters of all that and understanding of everything in existence. Magic, science, nothing was beyond their reach. However, there was one thing that they did not yet understand. Immortality. They could not discover the secret to immortality without destroying the mind or the body. Because of these dark consequences, research on Immortality was banned. Perhaps humans were never meant to be immortal beings. A group of scientists, hellbent on discovering the secrets to immortality despite the moral conviction of the rest of the world, took the city of Hav'ren and ripped it straight out of the ground using magic. Installing an artificial gravity and atmosphere generator, they separated the entire city and a massive amount of earth underneath it from the surface world. The rest of the planet took offense to this and sought to destroy the floating city. The scientists, calling upon forbidden techniques, unleashed plagues upon the world below to distract them before disappearing without a trace.

It reappeared in an entirely new dimension, where the scientists and their descendants continued their dark experiments for almost over a thousand years. Then, the people of that world grew strong enough to oppose the city and sought to destroy it. However, by then the entire of Hav'ren, nicknamed The City of Death, was composed entirely of failed experiments, scientists, magicians and alchemists. These people failed miserably, and the city once again disappeared, reappearing in another dimension.

However, this time, there poses a dilemma. The Scientists and magicians have run out of clean test subjects. They are forced to either experiment on themselves or kidnap people from the surface, revealing themselves prematurely. They decide to do the latter, fearing for their own lives.

Now, people are disappearing from the surface in the thousands, particularly women and children. This fact hits home for the populace of the planet and enrages them. Thus, they have assembled a small elite team to infiltrate the city, scout it out, and target weak points for the next force to move in and attack. The 'elite team' however is really only a bunch of social outcasts and 'heretics.' No one expects the scouting party to come back alive, they intend to use their deaths as a rallying point to charge in and destroy the city.

Unbeknownst to everyone, the scouts have a better chance of surviving than the entire army outside. They must sacrifice everything to stop the madmen in charge, and many will not return alive.
    Will you take the risk?

Supreme Commander Johann Dontoras of the invasion force saluted the brave scouting team as their steel, Chaos Zeppelin soared into the sky, joining the two others already patrolling around the silent city of death. Multiple people were being sent in the scouting team, the Human Celric Felice Solaris, the thief/witch Dove, the thief 'Vagrant,' and the Human Warrior Adam. He watched in silence as the Zeppelin landed on the city's surface, and smiled as it took off and took its place patrolling. In three days, when the Zeppelin came to pick the survivors up, he would deliver his saddening speech on how tragic their deaths were. Using them as a rallying cry to kill everyone inside that evil city.

Johann didn't expect any of the scouts to return alive, and he liked it that way. In fact, the only reason the Zeppelin would land to 'pick them up' was to get the soldier's hopes up. To be truthful, just in case they somehow lived, the Zeppelin pilot was ordered to not open the ramp to let them on. They would die, the city would burn, Johann would have vengeance. The stage was set, now to start the flames that would burn it to the ground.

    ----------------------------

The scouts were pushed off the Zeppelin as it took off and left them alone in the city. All around them were buildings that towered high into the clouds. No lights were seen anywhere, and the occasionally scream quickly became common. There were multiple streets leading into unknown directions all around, and each street was scarcely big enough for three people to fit through shoulder to shoulder. The darkness threatened to entrap and murder each one, yet was as harmless as the cloth on their backs. Through the strong scent of blood and death, Adam stepped up and attempted to take leadership as the male in charge, beginning to order.
"Alright, it is best we not split up. We are only the advance scouting team, avoid offensive contact unless absolutely necessary. Everyone ready?"
    Payback time is nearing
And then our flag will fly
    Against a blood-red sky
    That's my lullaby!

The small scouting group was pushed out into Hav'ren, but Vagrant would have willingly jumped out. She stood straight, taking stock of the surroundings. It was more depressing than even the worst slum she'd been in back home. The narrow streets screamed 'threat' at her. They resembled alleyways more than streets...it would be all too easy for a local to have the upper hand in a fight. The narrow space would be constricting to anyone who was unused to it. Still...she didn't need too much room to throw a punch. Her studded brass knuckles were already on her hands, just in case.

Adam stepped out, offering instructions to the group. Vagrant grinned slightly. The only advance scouting group...she couldn't help but wonder if there would be anymore scouting groups coming. Maybe they would return as the sole glorious heroes, offering valuable insights into Hav'ren. Or maybe they'd get slaughtered, and their bodies used for unspeakable evils. "Yep. Ready," she said, "How long d'you think it'll be before we get a welcoming party?"

    -------------------------------

Deep in the heart of Hav'ren, Sage lurked. Really, lurking was the only way to describe it. She sat in the corner of one of the narrower alleys, blocking out the world, retreating into her mind. For some, this would get boring. Staying silent and immobile, doing nothing but thinking, for hours on end had to be incredibly dull. Then again, most people didn't have anyone else in their mind to talk to. Sage did. "You weren't paying attention...I was."

    "I do pay attention."

"If you were paying attention, you'd hear the rumours. Honestly, Sage, they spread like a plague through this city."

"You could just tell me...instead of teasing..."

    "Ask nicely."

"Baeslan, can you please tell me what you heard?"

"Fine. Pay closer attention to...everything, though. You've got to listen to people, instead of just creeping by and staying hidden. Some people came to Hav'ren. A big, huge, Zeppelin. An undead saw it, didn't pay much attention to it. There's gonna be fun stuff happening over the next few days. And you will not sit by and watch everything."

Thank you to Lilian Thorne for the awesome sig!

Lore was sitting very still. Even after all the years he has been in this city, he still enjoyed listening to the noises of Hav'ren and he was still discovering new things almost daily. On this particular day he performed experiments on Olthar, his master. The man was on a constant search for immortality. Lore admired his persistence. They always had persistence. Olthar was laying silently on the table in his small lab. Lore counted fifty three hours since Olthar had let his last scream escape his mouth. It was looking increasingly unlikely that the experiment had worked.

"Removal of vitals: fatal. Noted," Lore vocalized. He found this helped his memory process. At the fifty fourth house, Lore decided to get up. It had been quite a while since he last left the lab. He walked out to the streets of Hav'ren and started down the first one he came upon.
    What makes him questionable?
