Glancing up he nodded a bit, at her, until she mentioned his family. He almost smiled as his parents came to mind, and then the memory of his brother surfaced leading to their recent encounter and his doubts regarding Zakito. "My...family," there was a look on his face now, one he couldn't seem to restrain with a mask. It was one of pain and one of caring long gone, he had not heard from or seen his parents for some time, after all they lived nowhere near them....
As he opened his mouth to speak again, they were interrupted by Hiron, unexpected. 'Where is Ikuei...' he thought to himself, frowning slightly as he turned to better see his sensei. A profile was tossed, Xinsai snatched it from the air, his frown deepening as Hiron finished and then turned to leave. He gritted his teeth, and clenched his fist, squeezing his eyes shut and lowering his head. Only when Hiron was out of what he thought was audible range, he swore, loudly and slammed his foot into the ground hard "FfffUCK!". His teeth clenching he turned away from Mia, the profile of a new team member slipping from his grasp and to the ground before he crouched and pushed off at full speed. He ran into the nearest forested area, and kept going, not bothering to mask his presence.
Mia had seen him, Hiron had likely heard him, but who gave a fuck. The whole village was just...it was falling apart. Horrible, fucked up, a, a shit hol- no, no it wasn't.
He had stopped running, now standing at the entrance to a small clearing in the forest, he glanced around and finding a tree he pulled back his fist, his tattoos naturally coalescing around it and slammed it into the tree, cracking it halfway through and then cutting it the rest of the way as the tattoos shot out just a bit. The tree began to fall...towards him, no, it wouldn't, couldn't. He had shit to do and even though he turned away as it creaked and began to topple down, his instincts would save him, or was it raw skill and pure anger?
He turned his head slightly, sensing the danger and hearing it en full, his eyes closing, he turned, and kicked the trunk of the tree --from the side-- as it was about to slam down and its trajectory changed, making it fall 5 feet from where it would've. He just stared at the tree and then, then he began to laugh. "Hahahahaha, village hidden in the leaves huh?" Shaking his head he walked to the middle of the clearing and plopped down, sitting in a lotus positions, legs crossed. Sighing, eyes still open, he began to think. Was there anything he could do about all this? All this change, indecision, all this pain and death? Anything at all, he shook his head and sighed, feeling all too small in the world.
Small and alone and useless, just like he'd always been called in the academy.
As Eiji finished telling them and she took her blue rope and then looked back at her sensei, mulling over their task before quickly scampering back and away from the others as she stated. "U-uhm, Eiji sensei, my name is 'A'kiyuu, not 'E'kiyuu, or you could call me Gen'ei, that has two e's," she smiled at him and then focused her attentions, the darker side of her rising ever so slightly to the surface as she did. "Kirigakure no jutsu(Hidden Mist technique)!" As she said it a thick mist rose from the ground and spread over a 15 yard radius, with Akiyuu in the center. Both her teammates and her sensei were within its range and as they would assume it was a normal mist she had an advantage, for it was not. Having weaved in her yin chakra as the mist spread she had also activated Minagiru enmu, which was essentially her signature technique.
Moving now, quietly as she could, she made sure not to be where they had seen her move to and she closed her eyes, waiting for one of them to enter the mist using her other currently more useful senses to make sure they did. It helped that yin chakra was mental and responded to the presence of other minds, thus alerting her in a weak sensory effect. She decided not to activate any genjutsu just yet, she'd let them guess at her specialty. On that note she recalled her blade, that might be useful to have around, so she extracted it quietly from her robes and almost withdrew it when she recalled that drawing a blade could make quite a bit of sound. Opting not to she began to think how she could use it without having to make noise, or at least make less.
This would take some thought, but she was patient, and had plenty of time. For the mists continued to spread outwards from their 15 yard radi, it was quite effective really.

Nazomeku, Eiji - Wireless
They were ready now, except for Caleb, he was in the pit, but he didn't care. To him this was all a charade "I call this test, hide 'n' seek. So guess what?" Not giving them any time to actually guess he smiled, the real game of hide and seek was a bit different, but he rather not go into that. Again utilizing his Idō chijō no keijō, he formed a tunnel network beneath the ground within the arena and then he vanished in a cloud of smoke, the ground reforming in a perfect replica as he fell into the tunnel system. A tunnel without any openings...yet.
Walking calmly through he left his genin to their own devices for approximately 20 seconds, letting them wonder where he was while he formulated his next use of the Idō chijō no keijō. After the time had elapsed he'd gotten it and he placed at his feet a plethura of smoke bombs, all attached to long coils of wire. Following this he channeled his chakra through a bit and bound it all to his kai hand sign. With this he utilized what his students would likely think was his signature technique: Idō chijō no keijō. Strange formations of rock came to be and pushed each smoke bomb along a specific tunnel and then when they reached where an opening might be the ground would open quietly, first behind Caleb and Aeron so as to institute smoke bombs there silently. Eiji, eyes closed as he focused intently on the locations of everything, detonated those smoke bombs blinding both his genin. The rest of the smoke bombs emerged while they could not see, but none of them exploded. The ground would appear unchanged, which would lead them away from thoughts of earth jutsu, as after all most earth jutsu changed the overall layout of the ground while Eiji's could do that it could also make it remain the same or return to normal afterwards, such was its strength.
Once the smoke bombs had been spread he knew his strategy was ready, now it was time to wait for them to figure out where he was. If they could he'd freely emerge, this was a test of cleverness and intelligence. Could they draw him out?
