I don't concern myself that much generally with politics in general.

But running on information on here and some info on Obama in the past.

I know Obama is getting a lot of hate for stuff like 'breaking promises' introducing health care, and overall being a good president but one for greedy citizens who would let half their country die on the street if it meant lower taxes.

I like Obama as a president, I want to see him remain as president. But knowing the amount of hate he's getting, combined with the fact america still has a lot of pro-life supporters (may it be for the same reasons I'm pro-life or more religious based) and the fact america (and the world) is still largely homophobic, and the fact that a fair amount of americas don't like seeing their country 'invaded' or 'taken over' by foreigners.

This all leads to me believe this Romney guy will win.

    -----

    TLDR

    Quick version?

Obama = Better candidate, should be the president
Romney = The guy Americans will end up voting for due to hate for obama, hatred of public health care and popular beliefs in culture like homophobia, pro-life and anti-immigration.

Romney will get in, sit around, make some minor reforms, but ultimately do the same thing Obama did; not live up to his expectations.

If Obama wins again I'll leave the country (and I'm a democrat so that's saying something.)

No, you won't. Don't overreact. Frankly, people like to overestimate the power of the President of the United States. I'm not denying that they hold a significant amount of power, and influence, but there are much more important places people in the US should be concerned about (The House and Congress, for one)

I think that concern should be the real reaction. Many of my friends and family say the exact same thing, that they'd leave if could-be President 'this or that' was elected. Few say they'll petition, even fewer say they'll protest. It's ironic though. Leaving the country for good isn't a very easy thing to do. Yet, it's still the option chosen, because committing your life to actually changing what you dislike about whatever system is infinitely more difficult. One can raise money and adapt to a new location, but alone, one struggles to make their views understood.

Obama being re-elected would not concern me. He hasn't done everything I expected, but he has done what he could on issues more tangible in the here-and-now. Economy, the wars, all that takes years to actually come into motion. But standing up for minorities and minoritized (new word?) special interest groups, that's immediate and satisfying. Not a lot of Presidents are ballsy enough to expect their people to actually get up and do. Not a lot of Presidents would voice support for a hot-button part of the community (LGBTQA Community for example) either, especially when that community represents a small portion of the nation. I don't necessarily love everything Obama has done, but I respect someone who'd put themselves on the line. Unfortunately, unlike some of the earlier races, I really would be concerned seeing Romney, more so Ryan, in office. If he'd chosen a different running mate I might not be so concerned.

Actually I've been fighting against Obama since he took the Presidency the first time. I did everything I could to get support for Clinton. I talked everyone I knew out of voting for him, and I've been fighting most of his acts since he got the office. I'm doing to same for Romney now, even though I don't like Republicans as a general rule. Still, however, despite having mass disapproval ratings, and severely lacking in the popular vote the Electoral college was still fully set to vote him in.

I'm not hearing any whys. In a way, I also can't help but wonder how different anything would have been were Clinton elected. They share some similar key values, what do you feel makes Obama so deplorable? Also, why not Stein or Johnson? It sounds like you have specific issues with Obama if you don't generally side with Republican candidates, but have done so for the last and this election.

The fact is that every candidate is a human being. They can't be super-men or omnipotent gods who can make everything right with a snap of a finger.

The Paul Ryan will NOT be cutting the military. Anyone even look at his budget here?

Obama squeaks by, winning by a tiny, tiny amount, is my prognosis.
