"My blessing? For what?" My father asked slightly surprised. He knew what he was asking. But he wanted to know for sure.

"i want to...marry your daughter" Josh looked away and sat down.

My father smiled. "As long as you treat her right. And visit with that sweet little girl of yours. I'll give you my blessing any day." He said and looked at him. "And if you ask me, when I asked her mother to marry me. I tried to make it as unforgettable as possible because her mother told me what she thought was romantic. Even though I wanted something different. I wanted to do what would let her know I was listening, let her know I cared. But it's up to you. But you have my blessing." He added.

josh thought back to when he was talking to her "ya i know what you mean" Josh smiled "thank you sir"

"Oh, it's no problem. Do you have a ring? Or do you need to go get one?" My father asked and looked over to him.

"well yes" Josh took out a small ring with a diamond on top "will this do?"

[Country Girl]

"If you love her, and she loves you. The size doesn't matter." My father said and smiled. "Her mother and I might have a lot of money. But when I first asked her to marry me, the jewel was much smaller than that. And when I saved up enough money after the wedding, I got her a new one." He added.

Josh smiled "we should head back...dad" Josh started walking back to the house.

My father smiled and blushed, patting his shoulder. "Yeah, we should head back. Just let us know how it goes, okay son?" He said and smiled again. "If you want, go out to dinner after, we can watch Trish for the two of you." He added.

"no it's alright" Josh smiled walking back with him, he had never really had a 'dad' before "trish would miss me too much".
