I'm still reading through, but KrimpetyCatcher, consider your character approved.

By the way, folks, I don't like to critique publicly, so I'll be sending any suggestions I have via PM. Just look for the one titled "Your Skyrim CS."

And, because I'm the naughty kind of GM who likes to have a character of his own...

    Name: Filias Osilius
    Age: 63
    Gender: Male
    Race: Imperial

    Appearance:

I don't know who this actually is.

Osilius is an elderly, bearded man, but very fit for his old age. He wears baggy robes to hide his athletic frame, prefering to let people think of him as an old man, hardly worth their attention and hardly a threat.

    Weapons and Armor:
Osilius doesn't wear armor, but he does carry a staff, one end of which is embedded with a soul gem designed to throw lightning bolts at opponents. The staff is carved from thick oak, meant to be sturdy rather than ornate, and can be used as a meelee weapon if the need arises. He also carries a silver knife that he uses as a tool for his alchemy, but as it's effective against supernatural creatures, he keeps it sharpened so that he can use it as a weapon as well.

    Skills:
Osilius is skilled in alchemy (and as a byproduct of this skill, cooking) and Alteration magic, particularly conjuring light. Osilius has keen eyes, and is sometimes able to detect invisible or ethereal opponents if they cast a shimmer. He's also capable of using his old age to fool people of ordinary intelligence--guards may let him go with nothing more with a warning, people may not pay particular attention to what he's doing, or he may pretend to be senile.

    Magic:
As stated before, Osilius is skilled in Alteration magic, his specialty lying in conjuring lights and transmuting ores. Sadly, the bulk of what he knew faded during his hiatus from service in the Legion, but he still possesses knowledge of the following spells:

    Candlelight, Magelight
    Transmute
    Detect Life
    Telekinesis

    History/Background:
Osilius gained his magical training at the College of Winterhold, managing to become adept in the arts of Alteration at a young age, then using his abilities to serve the Imperial Legion against the Altmeri Dominion. He was one of the few who made it out of the war physically unscathed, but not mentally so. He quit the Legion and devoted the twenty-six years between the signing of the White-Gold Concordat and the incident at Helgen to studying creation instead of aiding in destruction, becoming a naturalist and traveling to document the flora and fauna of Tamriel.

When news arrived of the attack at Helgen, Osilius was called upon by the Empire and sent to the province of Skyrim, where he would be expected to work with General Tullius and the Legion to find a way to end the threat posed by the dragons once and for all, so that the Legion may return its focus to putting down the Stormcloak rebellion once and for all.

    Motive:
Even though the Dragonborn is considered a mere legend, Osilius feels that there might be some truth to the myth that dragons may only be slain by his hand... and in a more selfish light, the old Legonnaire in him hopes that the Empire will be able to use the Dragonborn to defeat both the Stormcloaks and the Dominion, and reinvigorate the dying Empire.

Osilius travels with his assistant and caretaker, Maerin Aikaios, a Breton woman with strong features and long, dark hair, usually put up in a ponytail or a rudimentary braid. She fancies herself a spellsword, and thus possesses an aptitude for one-handed combat, though her magical specialty lies in Restoration magic. She wears gold-colored Adept's robes under a dark green traveling cloak and carries a steel sword on her hip.

Between the two of them, they possess a single horse, which they use to carry their supplies and provisions.

Ooh, fantastic! It's interesting to see an older character around. It'll certainly add a rare flavour to the adventure, and I'm already envisioning some interesting little scenarios..

    I can't wait :-).

"Back in my day, the Legion did things properly. None of this 'catering to elves' bullshit you young people are into. Why, if Captain Vokin was around to see the shape of the Empire, he'd die of a broken heart right on the spot!"

Haha, exactly. I'm sure that he and Abelle will get along.. spectacularly. There'll be some form of entertainment, at least.

    <Bump with Character Exploration>

Ten things Saiyan likes aside from fighting

    1. Sparring (see that?)

    2. Watching chariot racing (A spot of gambling too)

    3. Reading history books (His favourite lesson as a boy)

    4. Wine, song and dance (providing all three elements come as a package deal)

    5. Imperial Cuisine ()

    6. Camping (A pastime he and Tiana - and one day, hopefully, his son - enjoy)

    7. Playing chess (about as close as the man has come to an interest in war-tactics)

    8. Meditation (A habit ingrained in him by his first swordplay teacher)

    9. A tale of adventure (Besides Tiana Oro, the one thing that can reduce Saiyan to the boy he once was)

    10. A good massage (Seriously, what highborn man doesn't?)

Hmm, well two can play at that game . (I'm bored and why not? P.S. I couldn't really think of anything else to do, so I just copied your format. Hope you don't mind!)

    So without further ado...

Ten pastimes which Abelle enjoys when not murdering

    1. 'Misplacing' things from other's houses
    2. Leading guards on a merry chase after said misplacement.
    3. Smoky taverns filled with the sounds of shouting, drinking and stamping feet. If not participating in these events herself, well, there's always a few coinpurses to be cut.
    4. Seeking out new spells of illusion. Abelle turns into a surprisingly studious person when presented with new ideas on the topic.
    5. Swimming. Despite the freezing temperatures in places, Abelle will always find time to slip away for a swim when around lakes or the sea.
    6. Arguing. Always one to prove her point, she'll never shy away from an argument.
    7. Flirting. Abelle just loves leading poor, eager boys on, especially those who are completely infatuated with her.
    8. Forests. They bring back fond memories of childhood.
    9. Bartering. Opposite to most, Abelle finds great joy in haggling over the price of a trinket or weapon.
    10. Killing. Wait.. Oh, well.
