(Congrats on the nice grades! ^^)

"What's our next class?" Lucile asked her friend, no longer paying attention to the final words of their professor. She folded her broom and tucked it away in one of her pockets. "I hope we aren't left without homework tonight.."

    ---

"Fine then, I won't make any more attempts to save your life." Jasper spoke, turning around to face the side opposite of his friend. Quarreling bored him; when there was no gain, he was quick to show his disinterest. He granted himself a smirk, before stepping towards the entrance of the chamber. The clicking of his heels made the room sound even more hollow than it was. At the entrance he stopped, and said: "You can't stay here, you know. Visiting this chamber more often than needed will not do you any good. How about you get some fresh air? I'll even give you some help."

Tom sighed, attempting to follow his friend towards the promise of fresh, clean air. He was tired, and his muscles felt sore from the over-use of magic. Jasper however, used a flick of his wand to make his friend's pain dull a little, without saying a word of course. Merlin knows what the brat would do to him if he ever discovered it.

(all this alternation is fucking with me right now rofl, and danke ^^)

"Uhhh.. Arith-- mancy? I think." Anelie scratched her head, as she folded her broom with her free hand. "Who likes homework. Nerd." she struck her tongue out at Lucile. Actually, she was hoping she'd have what to do in the evening too.
All I ever lead to is chaos.

If, after we have recognized intuitively a number of simple truths, we wish to draw any inference from them, it is useful to run them over in a continuous and uninterrupted act of thought, to reflect upon their relations to one another, and to grasp together distinctly a number of these propositions so far as is possible at the same time. For this is a way of making our knowledge much more certain, and of greatly increasing the power of the mind.

We ought to give the whole of our attention to the most insignificant and most easily mastered facts, and remain a long time in contemplation of them until we are accustomed to behold the truth clearly and distinctly.

The Meditator reasons that he need only find some reason to doubt his present opinions in order to prompt him to seek sturdier foundations for his knowledge. Rather than doubt every one of his opinions individually, he reasons that he might cast them all into doubt if he can doubt the foundations and basic principles upon which his opinions are founded.

    (Haha, you'll survive! )

"Ah, the fancy word for magical mathematics." Lucile responded, heading towards the castle. Mathematics had never failed to entertain her, even at a young age. The numbers and lettres that just fell into place, seemed magical all by themselves. "What's a nerd?" She asked, not having heard of the muggle word before. "It better not be something bad.."

    -

Harry J. Potter couldn't hear any of the words that followed, the place suddenly started dissolving. The memory had come to an abrupt end, and the world around them was starting to dissapear. He had witnessed it before, but Harry was still taken back by the wonderous ways of magic that send them swirrling through a rain of light, before dropping them off in the Headmistress' office.

"Oh no, maths?" The girl put on the worst face she could. "A nerd is a.. you don't know? Oh dear. A nerd is a person that likes studying way too much for a kid. But it's just a funny way to mock people, nothing rude." she shrugged.

"Oh, in that case we have some in the magical world as well. I can't give many examples, though, I'm not allowed to use silly words like that. At home, they're only used when the house-elves are running late, or if mum can't find her things." She smiled, threading softly on the grassy path that led back to the Castle's large gates. The students headed in the same direction, and the professor vanished into the air, on his rather large broom.

    -

Harry J. Potter landed clumsily on his feet, and grabbed hold of an old vase to steady himself. He watched as his friends appeared next to him, and as the headmistress moved behind her desk and reached for something hidden in one of the older drawers. The wooden furnish made a crackling noise when her fingers turned the lock, and pulled an old copy of a newspaper out of it. A worn-out version of the daily prophet was handed out and Hermoine's hazel eyes looked for the date almost immediately. It looked as if the copy was years old, but she wrote that off as the result of over-use as she noticed it had only been acquired a week ago. Her eyes gazed at the pictures and the headline, which stated the aniversary of an old blond-haired woman. She smiled at the camera's and her wrinkeled hands rested on the head of a small boy with roughly the same features as the rest of the family members that had gathered to the photographers' content.

"Third page, sixth picture, ms. Granger." The headmistress coughed. "Do you recognise him?"

(for some reason I feel like the lack of our roleplay going on has made you get out of your character a bit. Is that true? ._.)

"You sound like some rich spoiled kid, you should be in Slytherin." Anelie joked and poked her friend, laughing. She was hoping not to have hurt her. She entered the castle along with her and other kids.

(You're right. I think it's because I haven't had time to think much about rp'ing the last month, and some sort of writer's block has started to develop. It'll pass though. O_o)

"I was joking silly, you can't curse at house elves. They're not blood servants, just helpers. And Slytherin would be glad to have me, at least then they'd score some points that way! I'd probably get kicked out for not knowing how to ride a broom, though." Lucile laughed, brushing the comments off as they came. In all seriousness she had been quite proud of getting into Ravenclaw, seeing as most of the other Houses weren't regarded all that highly for their intellectual prowess. Most of her relatives had been tossed into Slytherin, but some had favoured Ravenclaw as well. Her mind had stopped wondering as to why, and how a long time ago, and now she found herself concentrating on the large castle that lay before them. The towers still stretched into the clouds, and before entering she took a moment to admire it all.

    -

"Do I recognise who?" Hermoine asked, flipping through the pages of the Daily Prophet and drawing her other two friends nearer. On the third page, a fairly young reporter had posted several pictures of the beginning of a new academic year at Hogwarts. All of them contained relatively normal pictures such as those of new students, professors or the headmistress herself and none of them really caught her eye. The second and sixth picture were the only ones taken outside of Hogwarts; the second one depicted some of the olders students practicing Quidditch with their younger siblings, while the sixth picture showed a group of friends sitting on a flat rock near the forbidden woods.

    ( I hate writer's blocks. )

Anelie laughed, although she thought what Lucile had said was a bit arrogant. She shrugged as she walked by the other people, avoiding their arms and shoulders.

Lucile followed her friend, and entered through the extraordinarily large gates that formed a passage into the school building. The castle rested in a state of defeated quiet that was only broken by the tapping of a few thirty student’s shoes. It was quite likely that the professor had let them off a few minutes early, since that was the only logical explanation for the lack of other small wizards and witches. Either that, or everyone’s lessons took place at another floor. The entrance hall seemed much larger than it had done that morning, now that it was practically abandoned and one could not be blamed for enjoying the eerie quiet it brought. It brought a feeling of mischief with it and Lucile did her best to imagine how many students had once snuck outside of the safe doors of Hogwarts to go and take part in wondrous adventures and quests.

In the new edition of “Hogwarts: a history”, there had been mention of a dangerous game that had been held at this very castle. It had started out as a friendly competition between three of the greatest wizarding schools. Each one had, had a fair amount of wizards and the most recent competition, that had taken place roughly one year ago had ended with Beauxbatons winning the cup. Lucile somewhat dreaded the fact that it had only been a year, and she’d have to wait at least four more years to see it take place again.

While she was sunken into thought, the small body of another first year student collided with that of her friend’s. The boy had been rushing towards the entrance- also the exit –and slammed into Anelie. He fell down, dropping the books and school materials he had been carrying and cursed:

“Merlin’s beard! This is the third time today!’

Then he looked up and noticed Anelie, flashing her a smile before reaching out his left hand. “Mind giving me a hand? Oh, and my apologies for bumping into you! If it’s any consolation, you’re not the first today.”

    --

Meanwhile on one of the higher floors, the headmistress discussed the meaning of the picture together with the famous golden trio. It was silly, really, but part of Harry J. Potter was happy to be back at Hogwarts even if it wasn’t the same anymore. He could not deny the danger the school was in, but at the same time it was just another adventure for the students of Hogwarts to overcome. And everyone at Hogwarts knew that adventures were part of growing up, as were missed classes and hours of detention.

It was quite strange to discover what the the sixth picture actually signified, and why Hermoine hadn’t immediately noticed it. The pictures in the magical world didn’t act as the ones in the muggle world did. Those stood still and these were supposed to show signs of movements; small things such as the wind blowing through the trees on the background or the pleasant sounds of children’s laughter, these however did none of those bizarre things. The photographs in the Daily Prophet that she had been handed stood still and weren’t of the magical sort at all. It had all been unclear at the time, but when the Headmistress started to explain that all of the Daily Prophet’s newspapers had been depicted the same behaviour, a pattern started to form.

“Is there something wrong with the magic, professor?” Hermoine asked not letting the pictures escape her sight, and allowing herself to fall back into an old habit of referring to the woman as a teacher.

“Yes, Hermoine, there is. In fact; there is something wrong with all of the magic.” The headmistress answered, rubbing her temples that had began to admit it a painful feeling of discomfort. She moved closer by, hovering over Hermoine’s shoulder and pointed at a small boy who sat amidst his friends in the middle of the sixth picture. “And that young man, I believe, is to blame for it.”

The boy’s mouth was curled into an oddly wide smile that showed a row of white, shiny teeth. His tiny frame was packed between that of two other boys, that shared the pleasant expression. If you looked closer though, you would notice the bizarre, waxy colour of his skin and the way it was stretched over his bony frame and the dark circles under his deep-set eyes. Nonetheless, if they hadn’t seen the man for themselves, neither of them would have recognised as Jasper. Jasper from roughly a hundred years ago.

Ronald raised his ginger eyebrows, glancing towards the tiny child that the headmistress appointed as scapegoat. His bright, clever mind sought for suitable explanations but none of them seemed to make sense. There were several ways a wizard could stop his ageing and even reach immortality- but the stone had been destroyed, the horcruxes altered ones appearance and the potion’s ingredients had vanished over three hundred years ago. The only other explanation left was even less likely than the other three, especially since he had been there as it had been destroyed. He was, of course, referring to the last stack of the timeturners.

The headmistress summoned one of Hogwarts’ many house elves while the trio gave it some thought and asked it to bring her and her guests some tea before offering them a seat. After sitting down herself, she placed her hands against each other on the table and closed her eyes for a moment, preparing herself for the explosion of questions that was about to be fired at her.

At the end of it all, she didn’t have much to add to their theories, besides a few sentences that is.

“The order to destroy the timeturners was not given to ensure that the Dark Lord would not try to make use of them, but rather to stop others from abusing their power. You see; time hasn’t been a straight line since we began using it, hundreds of years ago. Its over-use has caused time and order to become compromised and now, certain.. creatures have been slipping through. This could not have happened without a medium however, a living human being to act as some sort of portal, a portal through time. Do all of you understand the situation we are in? All can slip through; dragons, deatheaters, giants, dementors. Our only advantage and hope is that while time is indeed falling apart; it is doing so in a slow manner.”

(I’m rushing this part a little, to make it more bearable and not dabble around the point too much. I’m attempting to establish the main ‘problem’ in this magical world and resurrect my inspiration. O_o)

(FML, wall of text T_T sorry to post oneliners to your highness in grade of posting level rofl)

"Oh no, I was dreaming with my eyes open, it's probably all my fault. Here, let me help." Anelie noticed the boy only after he had fallen. She helped him raise back up and gather his books. She smiled at him. "What's your name?"
