Many people looked up as a young girl of about sixteen years walked passed them. Her long light brown hair matted by the rain, blown by the harsh wind as she walked. She was dressed in very little clothing. A short black dress, with a rip on the stomach was all that covered her petite body. She was walking barefoot, and somehow from her facial expression, it was noticable that she looked fairly happy. A small smile was lingering on her lips, lighting up her miserable bruised face. Every night, just before the sky turned dark, the young girl was seen walking past this very same street. Always at the same time. Nobody really knew why, but nobody dared to ask her. Those who tried to follow her, ended up losing track when she entered the 'Forbidden' forest. Nobody, but her, had ventured in there ever since a little four year old girl was murdered, and her body was found, tied up, cold, and bruised. The young girl was the only one that had the courage to.

The sixteen year old girl was called Myeesha. From the age of twelve she was homeless. Although she wouldn't call herself that, it was the brutal truth. The reason she wouldn't call herself homeless is that she found herself a home. A cave deep in the woods. The cave was only small, small enough to fit a young girl like her, without being found. It was a good place to sleep during the night, when the storms got out of hand. During the summer she would find a nice tree and find a fork, there she could peacefully sleep, when the weather was hot.
The reason Myeesha was homeless is that her cruel mother simply got bored with her own child. She kicked Myeesha out of the house, forcing her to live on her own at the age of twelve with no way to get food or shelter. The only thing Myeesha could do was..you know. Every night she would cry, and want to kill herself, because she had never wanted to live this way, but now that she had survived four years as a nobody, she was used to it. Sometimes during the night she would still have suicidal thoughts, looking at all of the scars on her once perfect skin. People that occasionally found her walking down the street would abuse her, take her, and mostly use her. Every night that that would happen, she would take the nearest sharp object and stab it into her body. But it seemed like every time she did, nothing major happened. It was like her body had become resistant to these wounds.

This night Myeesha had just come back from working at a bar. It was the only place that would take her in at her state, and at least that would give her some money for the smallest amount of food. She was tired, and her head was pounding from the loud music inside of the club. She rubbed her eyes, and headed for the entrance of her forest. She was the only one that would go inside at night. But she knew that there were no dangers here, and all the animals bowed down to her, as if she was their queen. As she got to the cave, the rain started dripping slightly. She didn't mind, but today she really needed to get some sleep, because if she didn't she was bound to pass out in an embarrassing place in public. She crawled onto a long rock, which formed her bed, and rested her head on the pillow of flowers and soft leaves she had gathered. Surprisingly, it was all very comfortable and just the way she liked it. She thought about her day for a while, and sighed. Her eyes closed, far out of her own control, and soon enough she fell into a deep sleep. Not even the loud thunder could wake her up.

Myeesha opened her eyes, and looked at the sky. It was a pale blue, and almost no clouds were visible on the clear surface. She sat up, and looked around. All that she could see without standing up were meadows, and sweet smelling flowers all over the ground around her. Standing up her eyes widened. Below the meadow she was standing on was a beautiful city. Skyscrapers filled the air, and a river was neatly flowing throughout the city. She could hear laughter and happiness, even from so far away. She smiled to herself, which was usually very rare.
She walked down the meadow, and into the city. People smiled at her, and didn't seem to care that her clothes were ripped. It was as if they...weren't. Myeesha looked down. Her black dress was perfect, and looked as good as new. Feeling happy inside she smiled back at the people, and even said 'hi' to a few. As she got further up into the city, she saw a park, that reminded her of the one that she used to play in with her friends as a child. She opened the green gate, and walked in. The grass was perfect and green all around, and young children were playing on the playground. all of the swings were perfectly painted and everything looked new and barely used. Even the sand in the sand pit looked untouched even though a small girl had just finished playing inside. Myeesha looked around. This place was definitely different than
the place she lived in. The park was broken, and smashed to bits by gangs, but here everything looked just the way it did five years ago. Back when her life was perfect. As she was looking around, she saw a boy that she had never seen around before. Her city was small, and she was sure that she knew everyone in it. But this boy, she did not. He wasn't much older than her, only about seventeen, but there was something about him that made him seem very mature. That something about him forced Myeesha to walk up to him.
"Hi..." She said, smiling at the boy, her perfect white, straight teeth showing. They were the thing she was most proud of. "I've never seen you around, what's your name?" She asked politely, sitting on the park bench, next to him.

"Alil, and you?" He smiled at her as she sat down to the park bench beside him. He was new in town, like always, and never had a real home in the States. Alil once had lived a few years in a big mansion in the Middle East but war ravaged both it, his country and his family. Now he was constantly be moving from one family and house to the next, a refugee of war and a survivor. He never allowed this to put him down, however, and always kept a smile on his face for appearances sake. The girl who sat beside him seemed nice, especially if she chose to sit by him and strike up conversation.

There was something about her bruises and scars that made his stomach churn in anger. Who had done this? Why did they do this? Where did this happen? He decided to figure out soon enough.

Myeesha smiled at the boy as he spoke. His voice was like velvet, and his words sounded calm and smooth.
"My name is Myeesha" She replied, somewhat pondering upon what to say next. This place was so strange, she had never been here before, and had no idea how she got here. She reckoned that the best thing to do would be to ask. "Umm, I know this may sound stupid, but..where are we?" She asked shyly. She knew that right now she sounded so stupid, and strange.
The people around her still continued to smile, and walk past happily. It looked like the world that she had once hoped for, and imagined in her head. She never expected it to become reality. Although, who knew. Reality or not, this was the best moment of her life. A small girl ran up to them, and patted her on the knee, as if she knew Myeesha. The girl was only about 5, and had long brown hair just like Myeesha, in fact, she looked like a younger version of her. The young girl smiled at her, but a young woman came up to her, and grabbed her by the hand. "Now Maya, you leave Myeesha alone, she's talking to her friend" The woman said to the girl and then smiled at both Myeesha and Alil.

Myeesha couldn't decide what was more strange. The appearance of the girl, or the fact that the woman was talking about her as if Myeesha was her daughter. She opened her eyes wide as the woman walked away, leaving Myeesha utterly speechless. This day would be completely strange, and Myeesha had a feeling that it would also be very long.

Alil raised an eyebrow, "A park, though I don't know the name of it." He admitted and glanced at the small girl and the woman, "Is that your mother and sister?" Alil asked curiously. It was odd because Myeesha seemed confused as to who they were. But considering how the woman and girl acted they must be related in some way or fashion.. right?
