Synopsis

Founded on the immense wealth of Mage Druijden, Archmage of the Oristanian Kingdom as an amend for the creation of the Tunnel, Druijdne's Wall serves as the only barrier between a complete invasion by the Othersiders into the world. As the inhuman creatures poured in droves unto the land, entire continents banded together to keep them at bay while Druijdne's funds were utilized to create the titular wall. The structure was raised within months, despite its immense size, through the combined efforts of dozen's of countries worth of manpower and materials, all in the name of preserving the natural order of their own world. Through thick and thin the first Knights of Ollerus destroyed the last massive force as the Wall was completed.

Nearly two-hundred miles long and fortified to resist even the Archmage's greatest spells, Druijden's Wall is virtually impenetrable by any standard force. Nevertheless, anomalies continue to find their way past the Wall and into the wilderness between it and the College of Ollerus. Thus, the Ollerian Knights were formally created to counter these appearances and prevent them from disrupting the various magical emplacements powering the Wall.

The College trains these knights, and is also the foremost developer of Armaments, or magical weapons, which are wielded by upper-class Knights. Imbued with strange artifacts and powerful spells, these weapons vary in size, shape, and function, but all display some innate gift unnatural to even skilled magicians. Men and women of nearly every age are brought or enter the College of their own volition to become famed Knights of Ollerus for glory, honor, or adventure. The death rate is low, due to the amount of training received and the relative infrequency of powerful Otherworlder appearances, though caution is always advised to those who exit the College for the forest outside.

The current Headmaster of the College, a defected Otherworlder by the name of "Cithinus" manages the various human ArchKnights and orchestrates the College and its yearly activities. Though originating as an Otherworlder, Cithinus displays a strong desire to aid the human race for reasons unknown to all but his most trusted individuals.

You will play as an Ollerian Knight, equipped with specially designed Armaments and various spells and skills to serve as a force against the elusive Otherworlders. More will be explained in the OOC, as this is just an Interest Check.

*You may play as an Otherworlder, though you should note that Oristanian humans are highly discriminatory against them. You will not look completely human, though you must be anthropomorphic.

Knights entering the college usually hail from a "Root" or family origination based upon their parentage or hometown. In the world of Oristania, "Roots" themselves are the extensions of the Yggdrasil Tree, often hailed as the source of all permeating magic in the world. Where the much smaller roots of Yggdrasil come out of the ground, cities were often built around them. Powerful families situated there would name it, and took on a Crest to mark themselves as originating from the area. There are instances in which mutliple powerful families come from the same root, in which case force them to adopt "Branches" to distinguish themselves.

Roots generally have associated Spell Classes (described later) with them, and it is infrequent that knights hailing from them adopt any other Class than their Root's favored set. Cultural differences are prevalent between Roots, some of which are more evident than others. They have their own history, customs, laws, and desires. Some Knights do not come from any Root, but bring with them anonymity and lack notoriety.

You are free to create your own Root, though it must have a decent description and be distinguishable from the others. Others may join PC-Roots, or can create an unaffiliated Knight. "Rooted" Knights gain notoriety and favor among their fellow Rooted peers, but are limited to designated Spells Classes.

Originating from the Root of the East, Ludiienite lands are known for their expansive golden arid expanses. Being an incredible trading center for Oristania, their "Golden" title is not just for their lands. The coffers of a Ludiien knight often reflect their earth.

• Hold money in high regard
• Take strong pride in their Root
• Flashy in battle

Often called the "Savage Knights", the Arequis hail from the northern forests of Oristania and congregate in a large tribe rather than a singular family. It is rare to find an untalented Arequis, as nearly all are trained in some combat form in their younger years.

• Favor the Ice, Nature, and Earth Spell Class
• Close-knit with all other members, but wary of outsiders
• Brutal in fighting, but do not condone the use of heavy armors
• Able to use unorthodox fighting styles

The Granagon are most known for their boisterous attitudes and unwavering wills. To push aside a Granagon is like, "Pissing on a King's crown." They come from the north, though lower than the Arequis, and are recognized for their rising Armament-forging skills.

• Favor Wind, Earth, and Fire Spell Classes
• Powerful personalities, but also stubborn
• Rarely put out capable Knights, as their criteria limit "true" Knights to being the very top class
• However, this makes nearly all Granagon Knights the best of the best

Hailing from the Southern kingdom of Carlmencia, the single Root present is surrounded by the castles and palaces of various Branches of this Yggdrasil extension. Though severely divided, they all share a fondness for extravagance and chivalry.

• Favor the Wind, Light, and Thunder Spell Classes
• Wealthy and well-trained, but divided between Branches
• Versatile in weapon usage and armor equipment
• Subject to strict rules and codes of conduct

The Western Root that Druijden originated from, this Root is noted for their incredible fortitude and as the main contributors to the wall. Though strong and proud, they are quiet about their work and tend to act calmly.

• Favor the Earth and Thunder Spell Classes
• Well-known and well-treated in the College
• Poorer than most other Roots due to their expended wealth in the Wall
• Generally use heavy weapons and armor

Silverhood Root.

The Silverhood used to be a section of a larger family of counts and dukes, distant cousins to the more powerful royalty whom were driven from the land and scattered due to the instability of one of the rulers calling a witch hunt on their family, pushing them to the northern regions where they discovered the root they named after their family colors on the hoods of their cloaks. Though not as ancient as other families and their roots they are very renown for their temper, though rare to erupt are very dangerous and explosive, being the reason they were hunted in the first place because one of their members tempers snapped. Things got out of hand real fast, leaving carnage in his wake in the form of dead bodies.

The element for this family much like their movements and emotions in history is wind, never able nor content to stay in one place for long, always moving and changing yet very loyal and much like a pigeon, always returning to the roost of where they came from at some point in their lives.

Iladora Root

The Iladorans are honourable knights and warriors, rumoured to have originated from the high mountainous regions. All of the members of the root show a sentsitive, caring side and tend to be protective of their brethen. The root is almost forgotten, the only members are some of the men and women that inhabit Valcara. They are spiritual people, appreciating the beauty of the landsape and the marvel of life; most would go out of their way to protect it.

The root's magic schools are Light and Earth, for they care for and love the world around them, including the earth they tread on and the beauty of all life, not just human.

Armaments are magic weapons given unnatural attributes and abilities based on the various magitek and spells put into them. They can vary in size, shape, and potency, and are not all necessarily given damaging effects. There are several categories defining how an Armament works or is shaped. All Armaments have a core (which can be damaged or destroyed).

• Weapon-Type Armaments: Shaped like any conventional weapon (eg: sword, axe, club, etc) that is used by an individual as such. Also included are magic catalysts (staffs, books, wands).
• Armor-Type Armaments: Shaped like any form of worn armor (eg: chestplate, helmet, gauntlets) that function as such. Not included are things like necklaces or rings.
• Augment-Type Armaments: Usually in the form of some ingested material or as an item requiring surgery to use. These permanently affect the user, and cannot be dropped or left somewhere else.
• Living Armaments: In the form of an object or entity that can express some form of individual will, allowing them to "live" on their own should the user allow it.
• Item-Type Armaments: Any type of Armament not fit into the previous categories.

You are free to create your own Armament within the following parameters:

The Affinity is the Armament's magic affinity, which can be nearly anything you'd like, tohugh it should be related to its ability. Armament Affinities need not constrain to the Root Spell Classes for Rooted Knights. Ability must be reasonable, so think several times about what it is doing (note that I will not take drawbacks into consideration when deciding on "reasonability" in an Armament). As you prove your 'worthiness' in this rp as time goes, I will allow you more freedom with the Armament you have.

I leave Class up to you, the player. Class should be a one or two-word description summing up what type of battle style or weaponry/armor your Knight uses. Please also describe it fully, if it is not overly clear with just two words. Some simple examples could include; spearman, berserker, paladin, assassin, etc... Though I urge you to create something a bit more imaginative than that. It is perfectly fine for two individuals to have similar classes.

Within the Ollerian Knight's order, many ranks exist to situate individuals based on their expertise and usefulness to the College and the Wall. The ranks are as follows (from highest to lowest):

-High Knight
-Great Knight
-Collegiate Knight
-Knight
-Squire

Currently, you are allowed to play as either a Squire or Knight, both of which are not yet "graduated" from the College. Only a Knight is allowed usage of an Armament, though Squires are fully capable of achieving the Knight rank. The "ranking up" system in the College is an arbitrary process by which someone of a higher rank recognizes skills or achievements and can raise their rank. At higher levels, group decisions are required to rank an individual up, generally once one gets to the Great Knight rank.

Spells Classes are elementally grouped magical skills that one trains in. As each Spell Class requires its own set of required skills and training methods, it is often regarded as foolish to attempt to master as many as possible considering each takes many years to learn well. Most Knights take on one or two Classes, and Rooted Knights restrict themselves to chosen Classes associated with their Root.

• Thunder Class :: Dealing with electricity and energy

• Ethereal Class :: Dealing with incorporeal entities (ghosts, phantoms, spirits, etc)
• Light Class :: Dealing with light
• Darkness Class :: Dealing with 'material darkness' or malleable shadows
• Necromancy Class :: Dealing with reanimating dead organisms
• Nature Class :: Dealing with living organisms

Though generally, younger individuals enter the College, as older folk... Well let me put it this way. "You can't teach an old dog new tricks."

I'd go with as young as ten to as old as twenty-five.
