The sky was clear as Rilyn looked out across Alagesia but deep down he knew it was only a matter of time before the skies would turn black. He had talked to many people and knew there was only one thing he could do. His dragon Cypherus landed beside him and folded his wings, sensing his rider’s trouble he nudged him lightly and looked down into his eyes.
“Rilyn, do not fear what has yet to come, we still have time before it is too late.”
Rilyn laid a hand on Cypherus’ muzzle and sighed deeply.
“It is only a matter of time now Cypherus before the evil will rise again and we will need heroes to stop it.” He spoke slowly in a deep voice.
In the past Alagesia had been calm and peaceful but when the first dragon eggs were found evil began to rise and try to control these dragons. After the first egg hatched and people found out that there were some that could ride them and tame them they became frightened. Instead of trying to control them people began to lash out and try to kill the dragon eggs. One man learned to ride the first dragon and protected what was left of the eggs. That man was Rilyn and the dragon known as Cypherus. Together they promised to protect the remaining dragon eggs from those who wished to harm them.
Meanwhile in a hideaway known to no one but themselves the evil forces were figuring ways to stop the dragons. The leader of the group had gathered many different races into one force, it was made up of anyone with enough fear and hate toward the dragons. Vikings, humans, Dwarfs, elves and whoever else was lying out in the world. They knew there were many more dragon eggs yet to hatch so they knew of only one way to stop them, they must create a stronger force. They began to go to work, night and day creating their own dragons except instead of normal dragon with their own hearts they were black dragons created from dark magic. Soon they had an army of these black dragons created, their scales dark as night and their eyes as red as blood. They were created with no heart of their own and they only thing they lived to do was find and kill other dragons. The evil forces learned to ride the dragons and the ones who could fight on foot remained without a dragon. On the night of no moon they set out with their dragons to find these new eggs.
When the news was heard by Rilyn and Cypherus they knew they had no time left. They gathered what small forces they had and went to where the evil would be heading, the Vault of souls where all the dragon eggs were hiding. They made it with very little time to spare and soon a war started. They fought for many days but the dragons killed most of Rilyns army and most of the dragon eggs. When Rilyn knew there was no hope left he had Cypherus take what eggs he could carry and sent him off. Rilyn hid what eggs he could and then disappeared from the battle leaving his few soldiers left to flee or be killed.
Rilyn felt terrible leaving those who stood beside him for an armful of dragon eggs but he had made a promise to the dragons and he didn’t plan on breaking it. Once he met up with Cypherus again they both agreed that there was only one hope in defeating the black dragons. They needed to find and train more dragon riders before it was to late and hope was all lost. Rilyn gave Cypherus the eggs he had saved and told him where he could find the others and take his own. He told Cypherus to go there and stay with the eggs until he returned with help. Cypherus didn’t want to leave his side with the new danger but knew it was the only hope to save the dragons so he left.
Many years Rilyn traveled Alagesia to find new dragon riders and after almost giving up hope he found them. All scattered through the world he found them in different ways and explained to them everything they needed to know. They needed to come back with him to his training grounds where they would receive a dragon to ride and learn to fight. Each new rider was told about the evils that they were to face and what may come if they didn’t help him. Sadly some of the dragon riders turned him down, not wanting to be killed or get mixed up with the dragons but many came with him and learned to fly.
Each rider was given an egg from the ones Cypherus had protected for years and soon they hatched into many different dragons. Rilyn trained them all to become the best that they could be while Cypherus taught the dragons as well as the riders flying techniques they could use against the black dragons. Rilyn watched each day with pride as the riders grew stronger and smarter along with their dragons until one day he knew they were finally ready to leave him. He told all of them that there would be a day when they would need to reunite and battle the black dragons as one as he once had.
“How will we know?” One of the riders asked him.
“You just will.” Rilyn said as he climbed onto Cypherus’ back.
He told them that when the day came they would see him again but as he lifted into the sky and waved his goodbyes to the dragon riders he began to feel that he might not be around when it was time for the riders to rise again. This war was no longer his to fight, as much as he had promised the dragons he already tried and failed once. He had done his job by protecting the eggs long enough for the new heroes to find them and now he hoped that when the day came they would all be ready to rise up and take back what was theirs and end this dark magic that was never meant to be in this world.

Story of how you became a dragon rider:
Saki slid onto the back of her faithful horse and took off toward the field where she loved to go everyday and think. Saki had no family left after her father went to fight a battle and was killed and her mother became sick and passed away. She couldn’t say that she didn’t mind it but Saki sometimes imagined herself with a new family, or at least people who took care of her. She knew it was silly for a 18 year old to still want others around her but after growing up and being left alone since she was 15 it was only nature. Just as she got to the usual place her horse came to a rough stop almost throwing her off, had she not been tightly gripping the reins. There looking out across the valley was an older man, who looked around 26. Saki slowly slid off her horse and approached the man who turned to look at her.
“You, you hold the power of a dragon rider.” The man spoke with a slight smile.
Saki tilted her head and took a step closer to the man with curiosity.
She had heard so many stories of the dragon rider, her mother had told it to her many times. It was the dragon rider that her father went to battle with, the one that took his life.
“What do you mean I hold the power? How can you tell?” Saki asked the strange man.
He introduced himself as Rilyn, the first dragon rider and the man who had led her father into a battle he would never come out of.
Rilyn explained everything to Saki about being a dragon rider and told her about the black dragons. Saki listened with wide eyes and as soon as he finished she agreed to come with him. Once they got there Saki just about screamed when she saw his dragon Cypherus. She was amazed at how big he was and how proud he was. Rilyn led her to the back of the cave that Cypherus guarded and showed her the eggs.
“Choose wisely, Saki, there is only one egg that belongs to you in here.” Rilyn said then as Saki went to ask how she would know he answered her with a simple, “you’ll know.”
He then exited the cave and spoke quietly to Cypherus as Saki looked through the eggs. Soon she realized she wasn’t alone, there were others looking at the eggs, other riders who Rilyn had brought here. She avoided eye contact with them and soon she came upon this beautiful white egg. When she looked at it, it seemed to glow unlike the other eggs and she also noticed a strange pull towards the egg.
She walked over and picked up the egg then hurried out of the cave. Just as she stepped out of the cave the egg shook and cracked. Quickly she put the egg down and almost instantly a white head appeared from the egg. It was hatching already! Saki watched as her new baby dragon pulled itself from the egg and turned to look at her with wide eyes. She held out her head to the dragon who sniffed it then flapped its wings at her. Saki had created a bond with a new white female dragon. Rilyn explained to her that she could talk to the dragon in time and now just needed to name her. After watching the dragon for a little while Saki decides to name the dragon Aurora.
Rilyn instantly begins to train her and the other dragon riders how to be a rider. He teaches them everything they need to know as well as how to fly and how to work with the dragon. Soon they are able to actually fly on their dragons who have now grown up. Saki prepares herself then swings onto Auroras back, she tells herself it is just like riding a horse and then Aurora takes off. All the tips Rilyn told her begin to run through her head and soon she is gliding through the skies with the other riders. After almost a year of training Rilyn tells the riders they are ready to go off. Saki nods then gets onto the back of Aurora. She hops deep down that once they lifted off they would decide to stay as a group but she knew most of the riders with her would want to go their own way.

Story of how you became a dragon rider:
Ezra lived a pretty exciting life with his friends. Every night they would take liquor from his father and drink all night, or at least until the drinks ran out. Ezra was very outgoing and loved to hit on girls when he saw them. When Rilyn approached Ezra that day he almost said no, not wanting to give up his carefree life but when he was offered a dragon and new people to meet he joined instantly.
When Ezra arrived at the cave where the other riders were he instantly turned on his flirt and picked the first girl he saw. That girl happened to be a girl named Saki who punched him in the stomach and told him to pick an egg. When he did find the right egg he picked it mostly from the color which was brown like the drinks he used to drink with his friends. The pull was also there as well but he wasn't always the brightest person to figure these things out. When he egg hatched and a small brown dragon tumbled out he felt something in his heart change.
After he trained with his dragon with the others he left and went on his way. When he was given the chance to go back with his friends and continue his carefree life he chose not to. He wanted to stop drinking so much and be able to take care of his dragon but he wasn't going to change that he was flirty and outgoing.

Story of how you became a dragon rider:
She was found by Rilyn when she was out hunting. He told her the story and brought her instantly to the cave where the others were already playing with their dragons. She was late because she had turned Rilyn down the first time but after thinking it through changed her mind.
Iris quickly ran in and grabbed an egg. The egg was a blueish egg and she picked it not only from the pull but because it reminded her of her eyes. As she scrambled to catch up to the others she ran outside and stumbled, having to catch the egg before it dropped. Avoiding the glares from the others she laid her egg down just in time for a small baby dragon to pop out.
She trained with the others and caught up quickly with everyone and the day that Rilyn set them free Iris was first to go. She had gone all through training avoiding people because of her clumsy ways in motions and speaking. As she was gliding over the forest on her dragons back a wind started to pick up. This forest was well known for random bursts of storms but usually Iris knew when they were and how to avoid them. This time her dragon panicked from the sudden bursts and in one large push they were thrown into a large tree, Iris' home. Iris collasped to the ground with her dragon laying beside her.
She woke up hours later but when she woke to her dragon adnd panicked. As Demor attempted to calm her down he learned that Iris had forgotten everything she had just learned. Demor now spends everyday trying to bring back her memory and every so often something happens that sets off a memory and Iris remembers little by little
Name: Amik Elaf
Gender: Male
Age: Unknown
Race: Deep Elf
This one isn't as thought out as the sergals XD but since this isn't a precise rendition of hte inheritance story, I figured it'd be fine to try.
Deep Elves are rarely met race of elves that dwell far below the ground, Similar to how the normal elves are aclimated to forest living, these are aclimated to living below ground. Their skin has grown nearly black, often varying between browns, grays, and blacks, and while they still appear shapely and even smooth, they are Somewhat more 'rough' and thick skinned. They are indeed similar in physical ability to normal elves, somewhat slower, but Physically stronger than an average forest elf, this being because the deep elves spend their time working Metal and moving earth. They are actually a bit shorter naturally than the normal elves, not drastically, but it's considered a result of their life under-ground where there's greater pressure on them.
One could sometimes compare the Deep elves ability and architecture to that of a mix between elf and dwarf, though that particular union is nigh on impossible. They dwell even deeper into the earth than most Dwarves do, and while it is indeed rare to see more than a small group on the surface at any one time, It is not unheard of to see a few roaming about. Often the groups that go to the surface are 'merchants' of a sort, selling the various things they create so far beneath the surface, and bringing back some things they can't acquire from down there, these caravans often carrying foor or other essential supplies are very heavily guarded. It's also not too uncommon to find one 'living' on the surface.
Deep elves have also developed ways to work with various subterranean creatures, from 'some' earth digging dragons, To large worms or spiders, and so on. They do have an aptitude for magic, but it is quite common to see them do things manually, similar to the way the forest elves believe in practicing a special craft, though crafts dealing in creations with metal or stone are more common for them, and the deep elf black smiths provide a nice variety to the other races creations of the world, mixing both the elegance of elves with the skill and strength of dwarves.
Deep elves are also quite hardy, quickly adapting to hot environments, though they don't generally suffer the cold very well.
Appearance:
Dragons name: Esabai Elahroub [Earth Swimmer]
Dragons appearance:
Dragon's Powers: Digger, Wingless But Durable, Fuel Saliva
I'm going for a 'digger/earth' dragon =3
The Digger variety is basically heavily armored, with oddly aerodynamic, and expressive, spikes and spines allover their bodies, which vibrate to help them move under ground. They also have extra large durable claws used for cleaves earth and stone.
He lacks wings, but has a very durable hide, and the spikes along his body are even more durable, and with their sheer number it's viable that he could even just 'roll' over someone to attack them, but their main use is for digging. Being expressive spikes they tend to 'stand up' or 'splay down' depending on various emotions, once he can control them he can even almost flatten them down completely. It's really quite lucky that hte largest ones on his shoulders, create both a seat 'and' protectionn for the rider to avoid them just getting smashes up while digging around.
The Deep elves nickname them 'earth swimmers' because they can move through solid ground almost as easily as a fish through water, and as they move the ground closes up behind them, avoiding structure damage to the surface, unless they cause it purposely.
They also don't have normal 'fire breath' in a sense, their saliva, which can be created in copious ammounts, behaves like a 'fuel jel' and aside from being slightly corrosive and hot, sall ammoutns can be used to create fires that last a while, and large ammounts can be used to create a powerful explosion, but getting it somewhere and lighting it without hurting an ally is the hard part.
The thick hide, strong spikes, and over-all aclimation to being 'underground' makes them nearly impervious to crushing attacks because of their resistance to pressure, and the impact of an explosion does less than it would for anyone else, though just about any other sort of 'magic' can get them still.
Story of how you became a dragon rider:
Amik was just another black smith in his under-ground village, though ever smith had their own specialties and styles, for the most part he never considered himself to have any sort of special skill. Regardless of this though his productions still could be taken up to the surface to be sold, and he insisted each time that he be with the caravan personally, though this slowed his production while it wasn't bellow ground, He figured nobody would protect it more fiercly than the one who created the wares stored within.
Their first stop as usual was the castle town of Uru'Baen, as it was nearest to the entrance for the cave his village used to reach the surface, plus the guard's there enjoyed having the best armor they could get their hands on and paid very well for it. There was a tinge of 'something' in his mind however, like this trip was different, people behaved less friendly than the previous time, and there were mumblings of an army, and more so, the guards paid out the ass suddenly, It was un-heard of, but they bought the entire caravan's worth of product in one go, giving him a fat supply of gold for personal use, half of which went to the rest of the caravaneers, and a heaping supply of food to take back down... something was terribly wrong and it was obvious to anyone who wasn't hopelessly brain-dead.
He began asking around, and perhaps it was his show of curiosity, or maybe fate just decided something for him, because in the third tavern he visited in search of information he met an old man in a cloak, he introduced himself as Rylin, A dragon rider, he'd heard of the man a couple of times in passing but there hadn't been reason to learn about him before. He explained everything that Amik wanted to know, and after some ample conversation, and he assumed testing to see if he could trust the deep elf before him, Rylin informed him of the plan to put together a group of riders, and invited him to the hidden training ground. He accepted without hesitation and informed the Caravan to relay the same information back to the village below, it wouldn't do to have the surface world wiped out, without them around there'd be nobody to sell the products to.
He felt a bit out of place, seeing mostly humans or other 'normal' elves at the egg cave, though it was actually 'calming' to see a few other obscure people around, that Fuzzy one stood out even more than he did. But regardless he headed in to choose an egg, and the one he walked back out with was a sort of dirty brown in color, though no less beautiful in appearance as far as he was concerned. As he sat down to await it's hatching, something sharp suddenly pricked his finger and nearly dropped the egg, catching it with the other hand, then upon seeing a 'spike' coming out of the egg he quickly set it down before him. Then after a few moments the egg kindof 'exploded' as a clearly energetic and quite spikey kindof 'spun' his way out of it, shredding the various pieces off in different directions.
Right after breaking free he leapt up to cuddle against his 'partner', making Amik cringe as the pokey spikes, but being so young they weren't sharp enough to pierce anything yet, thankfully, and he found quickly that calming the little hatchling urged those spikes to relax and be far less jabby. It turned out actually that the 'prick' that almost made him drop the egg had been him touching a dull spike that broke through which spawned the gedwey ignasia.
Name: Mutasa Memna Eluso
Gender: Male
Age: 9 [equivilant of 18]
Race: Sergal
Locations: The Larger Variety Live in Cold Tundra Climates more often, and the smaller Variety live more often in deserts.
Species Traits: Sergals are rather tall, furred, sometimes called monstrous, creatures with a dense musculature and lithe flexible bodies, and generally come in 2 Distinct Varieties, Northern and Southern by name. Sergals Also Mature and develope at twice the rate of a human, meaning by 10 years you have an adult who's likely already capable of tearing someone apart, though a defined lifespan is unknown, most are killed in a battle, though who live past 40 are often considered some form of elder and a truely dangerous warrior.
Northern Sergals are larger, ranging from 6-9 feet in Height, with thicker builds and Fur, and their fur is often a mingling of 'cool colors' with black and white. They are distinctly more 'warrior like' in nature, and it is difficult to earn respect from them, as well as easy to make one want to rip your head off.
Southern Sergals are smaller, ranging from 4-7 feet in height, with decidedly slimmer 'longer' body types, and their fur consists normally of 'warmer' colors with black and white. They are a more scholarly/philosophical kind of people, and often are very good at both surviving and going unnoticed in the deserts of the world, as well as more prone to the use of magic than their northern counter-parts.
The dense musculature of a sergal makes them stronger than they look considerably, though not that it means they are unbeatable warriors, but they 'can' be a threat to younger dragon's without even being armed, coupled with their size even a 'small' northern can fling a man like a ragdoll armor and all. This coupled with their lithe bodies still allowing them to be flexible adds up to them being one of the most dangerous species in the known world.
The real 'danger' of a Sergal in melee however is their jaws, as they are strong enough to snap a man's limb off with any real effort, and can often crush with any 'plain' kind of armor involved.
Society: The Northern Sergals could be compared in some ways to a viking civilization, though they are even more brutal when angerred than the vikings and quite enjoy getting into skirmishes with the brash brutish variant of humans.
They are generally considered a 'warrior' society, While it is not required that every member become a warrior or soldier, ALL Northern Sergals know how to fight at least to a moderate extent, and it's considered suicidal by local races to under-estimate even their children.
They consist of a number of tribes scattered around the Mountainous Frigid lands to the far far north of Alagasia. These tribes are constantly warring, though not often in earnest desire to kill off another tribe, some may die, but this means they were weak and would've been a disability to any group they join later on. They Fight frequently mainly to keep eachother and themselves strong, They hunt prey in the forests by hand quite often, though remained armed in case of the more dangerous creatures such as dragon's appearing.
Each Tribe generally has a leader of some sort, some might be spiritual, some might be military Generals in nature, others might simply be survivalists. The leader generally determines how much of a threat their tribe is to 'outsiders' or rather, just about anything not of their species or of one they respect.
The Northern Sergals show unconditional Respect to 'very' few things in the world, These Being Nature itself, Eachother to a moderate degree, 'The beasts' of the wilds, And Dragons. Very few forces in the world have proven universally deserving of the Respect of a warrior, and the sheer might and ferocity of Dragon's has proven ever a daunting thing to have staring you down regardless of 'what' you are.
As Such Several of the northern Tribes has 'pacts' of a sort with certain dragons or several, more like peace treaties, but with a lot more wariness of the other side.
Not much is actually known about the southern Sergals by anyone who 'isn't' a Sergal who's met them personally, in these times or vicious war and dangerous events they prefer to stay well hidden.
Average Sergal Appearance: Fur colors are explained above, Though a bit more, It's generally considered a mutation for a Sergal's Eyes 'not' to be some form of silver or blue. http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__...references.jpg
Sergal Armor Style: Sergal's Often Wear Plate Armor, or Half Plate, With often unique looks between most sets. They come with 'protective limits' in the joints and tail to prevent dangerous over-stressing on the joints [meaning someone has to break the armor before they can break a knee or an elbow]. Because of their Particular Design they have noticeable weal-spots in exchange for allowing the sergal to maintain flexibility, And because of their natural strength the weight of the armor does little to hinder them.
Appearance: He stands at about 7'4" tall, 948 Pounds, And his fur being completely pitch black, together Allowing him to pass as both a northern and southern Sergal whenever he likes, Though he's still got a bit of growing left in him. His eyes are a pure silver in color, with black schlera and slitted pupils. https://d.facdn.net/art/fincoffeemug...ra_asdsded.png
Among The Tribe Eluso There are many stories of It's origins, Achievments, and dragons.
The Biggest one involves a certain 'formation' within a cave near which their Home Village is placed, A cave that is winding and often fatal for uninvited intruders.
This Formation is in the shape of a dragon so massive that It seems it would've taken even a whole horde of other dragons to take down, it bears visible 'wounds' and injuries, and is covered in glowing runes. Oddly enough being near it often gives a sense of tranquility and focus the likes of which few meditation methods can bring about, and is said to grant gifts of power and magic to those It determines worthy, though this is both True and Speculation.
It would be an unknown long age ago that this formation was indeed a living dragon, and ancient and powerful one that could've easily wiped out the tribes if It were willing to move against them. This was back before the orders of peace between both species were in place, and when killing a dragon to turn it's pieces into anything from trinkets to armor to weapons was considered a status symbol. This was all the result of a militaristic leader in those times, and the 2 races were at eachother's throat for so many years even before he appeared, Yet one day he Took the entire tribe off in an assault on a cave nearby to wipe out the largest group of dragon's they knew of. Yet when they'd arrived there wasn't a dragon to be seen, so he commanded them into the cave to find a nest, though they didn't find a nest anywhere.
The Cave went on for a great distance, seeming like fore-ever to some of them, until a light could be seen, assuming it was fire a dragon had made the General pushed them on even faster, Yet the sight that beheld them when they passed the thresh-hold could only be described as unfathomable. Before them Stood a dragon towering so massive it could've wiped them out with a single Swipe of it's claw, Yet instead it spoke to them, Some listened, some fled, some froze, but the general saw only the greatest 'trophy' of them all and sought to slay it despite the peaceful interaction it was giving them. When it's looked back on now even the new generations feel disgusted by what happened, and the story of this slaying is indeed told throughout the generations, but it is told as a story of tragedy, wickedness, and greed.
The behemoth didn't act against them physically, even as the general drew his Spear and advanced, or even as he attacked. The dragon desired peace so much that it had sent the others away so that only itself would be in danger, so much that it took one strike after another, and so much that it trusted them with the choice to change life as they know it for the better. As It's blood was spilled the other members of the tribe grew enraged at their 'leader's' greed, quickly seeing him as the weak control phreak that he truely was, and they turned on him, Leaving in his many pieces for striking out of greed at a peaceful creature. But the damage had been done, Or perhaps It felt it was 'time to go', Either way it simply laid down and waited for the inevitable, but not before passing It's remaining strength on to those who'd make 'the right choice'.
They were gifted with the ability to communicate with dragons, to form pacts with them, to grow capable in the uses of magic, and many other things. Some over-time gave in to the power and became the enemy to the peace like that greedy general, Other's have passed it on to their children, and other's still have spread it across the species in small pieces.
Of course most now take this to just be a legend that explains the great statue in the cave and the main it exhudes even now, though thing is definite. As long as most alive now have seen, the Eluso Trip has had a dragon rider in every generation, making them a feared power even among larger tribes, after all pissing off another sergal is risky even for other sergals, but who nor only rides, but can borrow the power of a dragon is a force they truely fear coming to bear against them. It is customary at birth to take the young one to the nearby dragon's roost to see if an egg will react to their presence, but it is also a show of trust that the dragons won't simply devour them onthe spot.
Muta is one of the descendants of the original Tribe-members from the story, whether it's true or not only The Elders and Dragons know, as it seems only dragon's can discern more about the statue, either way, he is the son of the Tribe's current dragon rider, And expected to be the 'next in line' to take his place someday. Despite being a dragon rider his father devoted to ensuring the protection of their Tribe and would have little time to participate in the affairs of the rest of the world [This RP XD]. Mu on the other hand trains tirelessly, Wanting to ensure that when he 'comes of age' He will be ready for anything, being next in line for leading the tribe was a big honor, Yet fate had other things in mind.
One Night suddenly he awoke with a start, The first time since he was just a little child that a dream had struck him concious with a shout, of course this is never taken lightly and other's who heard nearby came to investigate quickly. some though it was just a 'bad dream', but the first one who spoke it Socked to the floor and 'clarified' that it was a Vision, one of those 'things' that tribesmen don't take lightly, It was impossibly Vivid, and He immediately left to locate his father. He told his father of the things he saw in his vision, A great black beast, larger than any drago he'd seen, vicious in shape, black as night with glaring red eyes, fighting other dragons, other dragon 'riders'.
Until this time he'd had no indication that dragon riders existed out-side of his tribe, and he emplored his father to call a summit of Leaders from various tribes, the feelings this vision gave him were too strong to ignore, and he was certain those who pass it off as just a kid's bad dream would suffer in the future, but he also knew that this meant he would be leaving soon.
The summit was called, he relayed his vision in every vivid detail, he could see that the truth in his voice really got to some of them, yet some did indeed dismiss it as a childish nightmare, and he had a few choice words for this "You laugh now, but Know this, 'I' Am going personally to join whatever crisis is taking place, mark my words If nothing is done the little people that we despize and try to ignore so much will likely be wiped out, and Then this Dark Swarm will come down on 'us' eventually.... And I swear to you now, who'so'ever Feels that it's better to simply 'hide' here than meet the coming enemy on the battle-field and rip their hearts out... I will see each of your cowardly pups strung up and gutted when I return." Harsh words indeed, but most don't live long if they hold back around here, even if it's just words.
The last thing he did before he left was accept the gift of his Father's Spear, a well used, repaired, re-forged, and borderline ancient weapon that he'd used for both hunting and fighting.
And with that He took off, though it may have been a bit of brazen youngling pride leading him, as he didn't know where to go precisely, that was until he encountered a smaller merchant caravan, god knows what they were doing so far north, the squishies are usually afraid of his kind. Of course they were more than shocked to encounter him on the road, but with a short explanaition that he had more pressing threats to deal with they settled down pretty easily, and iwth a bit of questions he was informed of the 'army' that had been growing active in alegasia far to the south, perfect, now he had a direction, and he knew the tribal Trackers could find his patch and follow him if any of them had the balls to go to war.
It was almost a funny coincidence, He was in one of Alegasia's norther villages no more than a day before a group of overly wary humans tried to pick a fight with him, if he weren't there with a specific goal in mind he would've gladly left them in many pieces. Once again it seemed fate intervened, and a somewhat old looking man interupted the men, as foolish as he thought they were for trying to pick a fight with 'him', this man seemed to scare them away but a look, it made him curious, and interested, but he was still a stranger. This man told him that he was a dragon rider, the only one in this part of the world it seemed, and he explained his 'mission', though with a demand of proof before Mu would believe such a thing he was shown that symbol on the old man's palm, the one all true dragon rider's had, and he recognized the indisputable sign.
He did something few sergals have ever done for a human, and gave him a respectful bow, though he doubted even this man knew how much that really meant, and he agreed to be led to the place where training could take place without interuption. The other little squishies who were there were undoubtedly shocked if not frightened at first by his arrival, but they knew at least that the old man wouldn't bring any sort of threatening monster up there to endanger their mission, more surprising he bet was that as big as he was he was still young a young one at the time. He'd approached the eggs without waiting to introduce himself to anyone, and plucked one up in a claw, Immediately he had that undeniable sensation that it was 'his', but not in the possessive sense of ownership.
He took the egg outside the cave and simply plopped down to stare at it in his claws, It was a kindof Onyx color with a beautiful reflectivity like a mirror, and some people looking at him might've thought he'd try to eat it... some of his kind might've. He kept his stare bearing down on it right up until it twitched in his claws and began to squeek and crack, Lifely lil thang, and before long pieces began to get knocking out of it by the emerging dragon, who even though being a newborn seems to sense that only part of it's egg was beneath him, and only broke out the top, kindof sitting all cutely in a big bowl made out of the egg, It was covered in scales that were either as black as night or a very deep dark Red. It made him snicker a little before a smile spread across that long muzzle before he shifted to hold the half egg up with one hand and let the other drift up to brush across the new dragons little muzzle, a short Joly blasting into his palm, though he'd expected this from the stories he'd heard, and didn't need to check to confirm what it meant.
Personality: Emir is reasonable and mild-mannered. She's got a decent sense of humour, which is possibly the only reason her dragon has not driven her insane... but she is seldom heard to joke around excessively. She's more the quiet, withdrawn type...
Dragons name: Þeutrich Aldegar (Þ is pronounced Th)
Personality: Sly and sometimes sarcastic, the drake has tendency to behave as though life is a game. He is constantly teasing the others, finding some way to antagonize them. Even his rider is subjected to this obnoxious behaviour...
He has also been known to periodically put on a little acrobatic show in the sky... he's a bit of a show-off.
Description: Þeutrich is remarkably small, for a dragon. Especially one of his age. He can carry his rider swiftly, but struggles with a greater weight. Most "average" dragons could probably crush him easily. But he is resilient and agile; his wit and speed more than compensate for his size.
A brief history:
From a young age, Emir was something of a loner. She enjoyed the company of a select few and loved few things more than the seclusion of the woods. It came as no surprise to her friends and family when, upon coming of age, she abandoned village life and took to the Spine to hunt and survive on her own. Of course, she was not completely cut off from the rest of the world - she made a good living, trapping animals and selling their skins, exchanging them for supplies and spending her own fair share of time in taverns.
But never has she enjoyed staying in one place for a long time. She has been on the move for as long as she's had the choice.
By happenstance, she was in Kuasta about the same time as a certain other rider - selling off the last of the season's meager haul. Winter was such a difficult time, for her.
She wouldn't have believed the man if she'd been drunk senseless. But lo and behold, he'd spoken true...
Even after the creature had 'chosen' her, she would have preferred to take it away and raise it in the wilderness. But they were quite insistant about... 'proper' training. At least her life was not one which was difficult to just leave behind.
Equipment: Emir typically carries a shortbow, a quiver of a few dozen arrows, and a bastard sword. She prefers lightweight armor - padded leather clothing, a cloak. Sometimes she will wear chainmail, if it is necessary.
Notable skills:
Emir: She has had years of experience with the bow and arrow. She is a skilled marksman - and after her training with the Riders, she can handle both sword and spell with competence. She is also experienced in tracking, trapping, and leatherworking.
þeutrich: The drake, like his rider, is agile and fast. He fights intelligently, but is somewhat more reckless than Emir.
Name: Caelavel (Goes by Alex to non-elves) Pronunciation (at least my way of saying it): Cay-el-ah-veil
Caelavel was born in to the Elf Nation from a well known mother and father. Growing up, she was pampered, but not in the way others might think. She was allowed to have everything she wanted but she didn't act like an Elf Princess, as most of the elven girls her age and lineage might have, but instead she acted like a warrior.
She had already become the best warrior in the Elf Nation by the time she was fifteen, which was no surprise because her name meant Archer/Arrow (Cael) and Sword (Avel). On her seventeenth birthday (elf years), she was given a new bow and quiver with arrows and also a new sword.
Merely days after her birthday, when she was out hunting, she met a man who told her immediately that she had the power of a dragon rider. Caelavel was shocked. She listened to his story about the black dragons and the dragon riders, whom she had learned about from stories her parents when she was young.
When the man, who was named Rilyn and was the first dragon rider, finished his story and Caelavel agreed to come with him, she whistled for one of the trained hawks to come and she wrote a quick message to her parents about where she was going on a leaf, rolled it up, and tied it to the hawk's legs with a thin vine. When it took off, she and Rilyn traveled in the opposite direction.
Soon, they both reached a cave where a massive dragon sat guarding it and Caelavel froze in shock. When Rilyn told the dragon to move, he led her to the entrance and told her to go in and choose an egg.
"There is only one egg that is meant for you. You only get one chance, so choose wisely." He had said before he left her to choose.
Caelavel walked to the back of the cave where she was greeted with dragon eggs lying on the floor. After walking by them one by one, she felt a strange type of pull to one of them. When moving her hand over the eggs where she had felt the sensation, she felt her hand pull to a pitch black egg.
Picking it up, she carried it outside of the cave where immediately *the shell to the egg split. Panicking, she set it quickly on the ground where a black dragon shattered the shell completely and tumbled out, looking around with a small round, scaly head.
Rilyn seemed confused, panicked, and stunned all at once for a moment at the sight of the baby dragon, which looked exactly the same as one of the Dark Dragons, with black scales and blood red eyes. However, he wiped the expression away in a split second and told her that she had to name her baby dragon, which was female.
After pondering for only a few minutes, Caelavel chose the name Skelath with the nicknames Scar and Shadow for short or for people who were not elves.
Immediately afterwords, Rilyn began to train Caelavel, who used the nickname Alex for those who were not elves, which there were no others, and might have trouble pronouncing it. Soon, all the dragons were grown up and ready for their first flight.
Being smaller than the average dragon and also all the others in training but still just as tough, Skelath was not built for strength and overcoming victims by size. However, what she lacked in strength and size and power, she made up for in speed, agility, and intelligence. She shot like an arrow through the sky and was much faster than the others. Caelavel seemed born to ride a dragon.
After a year of training, Rilyn sent all the dragon riders off and they took off to the sky in one group. They would more than likely drift off on their own but there was safety and power in numbers.
Story of how you became a dragon rider:
Rashid grew up among the wandering tribes learning swordsmanship from the tribal warriors. At the age of twelve he was found to be gifted in magic and learned tidbits here and there from magicians and scrolls detailed with the inner workings of magic.
The wandering tribes originate from the Hadarac Desert and are skilled in metal working, which at their best, rival the Dwarves. They often travel the lands in large caravans to trade with the many cities in Alagaesia. Being seen as an outsider in most parts of the world, Rashid is extremely prideful of his culture and is often vengeful if hurt by a perceived wrong.
On one of the Caravan's journeys to Surda, Rashid was sought after by a strange man offering teachings to great warriors. With his curiosity piqued, and determined to prove himself as a warrior, Rashid accepted.
He was taken away from his tribe to be trained as a dragon rider... much to his surprise. Dragon's were never a great threat to the wandering tribes, though they were often spoken about among the cities he visited. Fearful at first of these strange creatures he turned away at the sight of the round eggs.
However the sight of other students picking out their dragons without fear shamed him into doing the same. One of the dragon eggs, a shining copper orb, seemed to call to him and he answered the call. Branding his hand with the gedwëy insignia , and naming the majestic copper dragon that hatched for him, Zahir.

Gender: Male
Age: 22
Race: human
Appearance: 5' 11" black hair, same length as L below in the sig but thinner and more smooth. white skin slightly tanned. toned muscles, medium build. wears a custom cut robe. The right side of the robe is cut off and the left side is connected by chains that run through his red medium armor below (if not wearing armor he wears a more formal outfit). His right arm is covered in heavy metal in which he uses to block attacks. This armor can be removed and collapsed in order to carry when not in combat.
minus the skull and the center blade, this is connected to a chain that is built into the heavily armored right shoulder. Can be swung around to cut away at enemies or launched into one to drag them closer with it's retractable gears.
Dragons name: Drake
Dragons appearance: black scales with friendly calm blue eyes that reflect the clouds in the sky. His hide and muscle is thick as a result of his training to make up for the lack of flight (mentioned later) His back forms a natural mount curved in the front and the back which curves down giving leg room on the side.
dragons ability/appearance: When searching for a powerful relic with his dragon. Drake wings were torn by collapsing rocks within the cavern. Drake flew as far as he could to protect his rider but eventually his wings failed him. They fell and slid across the rocky ground. Ras with luck found the artifact and brought it back to his bleeding friend.
He had heard the artifact could give you incredible power. In an effort to save Drake he held out the hour glass shaped figure and as a tear fell from the boy into the blood of the dragon a beam of light emitted from it.
Drake closed his eyes and when he opened them the artifact was gone and so was Drake. In their place was an egg and a armored wristband that lay in his arms. Ras after several hours found an exit and walked with the egg in hand to an abandoned shelter.
Days later the egg hatched and Drake was reborn. This filled Ras with excitement but he noticed that the dragon's wings remained torn. He would never fly with his dragon again. The dragon quickly grew the second time around and they discovered the further powers of the relic.
description: In the process of using the relic it drained the dragon of his power to breath fire and his wounds never fully healed.
The wristband did however store the energy of the dragon into a red jewel which was embedded into it. There the power grew until one day Ras accidently used it. His body fused with the body of his dragon and they took on a shape much larger and more powerful than either of them.
Though when the power wore off he took back his human form. The power drained him, making him feel like death and his dragon was once again an egg. Not only did he have to deal with sickness and the time it took to re-raise his dragon, but he noticed the gem on the wristband was held a bit less light and had a small crack in it after use. http://www.electricblueskies.com/wp/...mut-Spathi.jpg
Story of how you became a dragon rider:
Ras had been a treasure hunter since he was young. His idea of treasure hunting was considered thievery by some and in a miss communication his father was killed in order to pay for an item he had not stolen and did not know the whereabouts of. Ever since then the treasure hunts were not for the fun of it but to fill his belly.
Years later Ras heard of dragon eggs hidden by a traitor. The price on the eggs was high and their was also a price on the traitor. Ras was no bounty hunter so he took the job for the eggs. After a few weeks of travel and gathering information on the whereabouts of this traitor he finally found an egg. Tucked away in a damp cave, it shined silver across it's black shell. Ras held it in awe, he couldn't seem to put it away in his bag. Finally he did and through the back of the cave when he heard someone approaching. The cave was far larger and darker than he though and he slipped and broke his leg. He couldn't see his hand in front of his eyes and after a few hours of trying to climb the walls he discovered it was pointless. It was a straight fall and the surface was to smooth to climb. Worn down by the cold water he laid in.
As his body began to shut down from blood loss and the cold he began to lose hope. "I'll die here." He said. "Die alone just like my father. I deserve this." But he did not die. His bag began to shake and he opened it up to find a baby dragon crawling out of it's shell. "You survived the fall?" He asked the dragon with a smile that quickly faded as the pain returned. The dragon let out a squeal that echoed throughout the cave. In a way the dragon saved his life, for if it wasn't for that squeal, the traitor Rilyn would never had found them.
In the days after the boy would go from being Ras the thief to Ras the rider.

Story of how you became a dragon rider: Born in the country of Surda and the son of nobleman Korin Zeveran he grew up in a rather interesting background. His father constantly liked to play things like chess and test the limits of intelligence which led to him testing his own son. While putting up with studies, sword fighting, and other things politicians will need to learn with he had to deal with his father's constant challenges. They got harder as he got older when his father started teaching him magic. He learned the basics when one day a mysterious messanger from the shark tooth island arrived and introduced himself as a member of the Dragon Rider's order on behalf of Master Oruma. He intially tested knights only but then asked if Aemon would like to give it a try which his father chuckled at. Thinking it a farce he let his son do it which Aemon did. The silver egg hatched when Aemon laided his hand on it much to the surprise of everyone and then a flash of light insued when Aemon recieved his Gedwey from his dragon. They were immediately shipped off to the island of Vroengard for training. He started out rough around the edges but eventually through the hard training of the masters he became a fine rider. He recieved a Silver Bastard Sword made specifically for him, like all the other riders when they graduated training, and his life with his dragon Xalahar coutinued. He has since been policing the world and keeping things in order for his masters

Working on a story, hope you all give it a minute to read (give the first chapter a try if it doesn't grab you, don't continue) http://figment.com/books/635080-Eternity
Hearts and followers would be nice, I want a good, strong, fan base so that one day I can take this to kickstarter and get it published.
He has since been policing the world and keeping things in order for his masters.
