Lia's parents were legendary Earth benders, able to create fortresses and monuments with a flick of their wrists. They had been traveling Neevah but ventured too closely to the city of Daar and were taken prisoners by the Klees, who had strategically placed booby-traps on the outskirts of their walls in the hopes of gaining new slaves and killing off Lims that lingered nearby. Ophelia and her younger sister, Lyra, were born soon after their capture, but only knew their parents for a short while; The two were killed trying to escape when they were around the age of six and four, respectively.
At the age of thirteen, Lyra came down with an illness after being forced to hunt outside the city's walls; A Lim had scratched her, emitting a deadly poison into her veins that eventually caused her death. Thus, Ophelia was left to fend for herself.
Like everyone else who was enslaved, Ophelia longed to be able to use her abilities. She felt that the ground beneath her feet was constantly begging for her to exercise her right. But having been born into slavery, she has not been able to do so. Most of those around her have a theory that when she finally was able to train herself, she could be as great as her parents once were.
Since her sister's death, Lia has been working for the Klees as a caretaker for both the young and the old. She suppresses her hatred for the superior race quite effectively and has earned a good reputation among them for that fact.
Due to her occupation, Ophelia is naturally quite motherly and gentle. She is quiet and reserved, but carries herself with confidence and purpose, and can become a leader when the need arises. Words are stronger than any form of physical punishment, in her opinion; She can persuade and pacify any situation, and can lie on her toes if need be. Though a realist, Lia often strives to see any and all opportunities that come her way. Lia is not one to be pushed around. Her determination is steadfast and her focus is uncanny. She's intelligent and clever, and hates the Klees just as much, if not more, as the next guy.
- Working so closely with the Klees has given Ophelia information that other people would not have (i.e. where keys are hidden, food storages, etc.).
- She wears an anklet made of vines that her mother gave her when she was little.
- During her downtime with her fellow humans, she enjoys making music and drumming out beats.
- Ophelia doesn't care what you call her, as long as you give her respect.
