Threadstuck: A Homestuck Discussion Thread

I figured it was about time someone made a thread solely for the purpose of a bunch of HS fans coming together and talking about the webcomic we so love- since the few Homestuck social groups on the forum are pretty much dead, there are enough Homestuck fans here that we should have a thread to share all our fandom talk, and perhaps a weird theory or two. Oh, but I'll expect spoilers for those not up-to-date. You should, too.

I'll start the discussion with a fairly simple question; favorite character?

I feel like it's so hard to pin it down to one... My favorite beta kid was by far Rose, she reminded me a lot of myself. I mean, John was kind of an idiot, Dave was a bit of an ass at first (took me a bit to warm up to him) and Jade I just... didn't feel anything for.

Jake is adorable, though, and my favorite alpha kid solely based on that. Well I suppose it does help that I wasn't overly fond of any of the other alpha kids, but still.

Eridan is my favorite troll, out of all of them. Again he reminds me of myself, being a creeper and all. Though the Condesce is a close second. Some of my close friends on the forum know I like to get all Batterwitch sometimes.

Oh, and I do love Snowman. I'm not even sure what it is I like about her, especially since I didn't feel anything for her until Cascade when she was in it for about 10 seconds, just long enough to die... but yeah, for some reason I'm a fan of hers, as evident by the Snowman set I had a while back.

So yeah, your favorites? And anything else you'd like to add?

Besides that, my faaaaavorite part of Homestuck is probably when Gamzee got shushed-papped by Karkat. My gog.

Edit: Also, that's two trolls in the first image. Gamzee and the Grand Highblood are two different trolls- so whom do you prefer?

Hmm... well obviously my favorite troll is Vriska, mainly because she make me genuinely hate and love her at the same time. Oddly enough (and as you know), people seem to compare me to Tavros for some reason. ^^'

Favorite human? That one's a bit harder. I'll get back to you on that.

Then of course there's Clubs Deuce/Courtyard Droll.

Hussie I think did a really great job of making such a diverse group of characters that are still all very likable. That is one of the great aspects of Homestuck that Naruto had in common for a while until Naruto screwed itself up but let's not get into a Naruto discussion.
Picking favorites is a bit tough for me since I really do like all the characters in one way or another (some of them do manage to irk me a bit at times) My favorite beta kid as some may know is Dave. He's just soooo coooool! Idk even if he is an ass he's an extremely funny ass. And when he was all sad about bro in that one scene and showed he did have emotions i got all choked up *Sniffs* Jade being my second favorite human because like some of my friends point out, we got a lot in common.

My favorite troll is a tough one though. Kanaya is automatically one of my favorites since she be my Patron troll (VIRGO PRIIIIDE) and she is very nice and I always feel bad that she's kinda the eternal third wheel D: But Nepeta and Karkat I think are my ALL TIME favorite troll, with Kanaya and Terezi coming in second. (I CAN PICK TWO FOR EACH SHUT UPPPPP) Nepeta because she's adorable, and i absolutely love her shipping wall. Karkat because he's all cute especially when he's angry <3 Kanaya I already explained, and I love Terezi's sense of justice, and how she was able to overcome blindness by using her sense of smell and taste.

My favorite Alpha kid will have to be Dirk. he's another awesome Strider for one reason. Another is that he likes horsies (As can be seen by his posters and love for rainbowdash) and I, as an equestrian, love horses! I also really like Jake, because he's super adorable, and Roxy cuz her drunkness is hilarious, but Dirk is still number 1.

My favorite ancestor troll would have to be Kankri. Even though his rambling makes my brain want explode, theres some sort of cuteness to the rambling. His little red sweater is really cute too. He's basically Karkat if he was polite and extremely intelligent, and he's SOOOOO cute. Kankri is simply the cutest as seen by my avatar <3

Though as for Kankri I... meh. He did look adorable at first, but his personality kinda wrecked that for me. I can barely remember anything from that wall of text from him that I had to read. Seeing him in pesterlogs would be awful. @_@ So yeah, his pointless ramblings got the better of me.

To be honest, I really didn't like any of the new trolls introduced with the recent update. I mean, I guess Porrim was okay and I'm feeling pretty neutral about her, but as stated I wasn't very fond of Kankri and Latula was just... ew. I don't like her personality, I don't like her theme, and I can hardly read what she's saying. Her quirk is like Terezi combined with Roxy and even seems a bit like Gamzee cuz I'm used to seeing Terezi's l33t only with all-caps. ><

While I agree with you about Latula's theme, I can't really say it's out of place. It actually fits Latula in that both are trying way too hard to be considered 'rad'.

Also, I never had trouble reading Latula's quirk. o.o Not to mention there's a reason that Kankri is nicknamed 'The Insufferable' :P
