I really like what you did with textures here. We really get a sense of materials. I love how his boot practically gleams - I hope he tipped one of the Irregulars well for that shine.

It looks like a fucking PHOTOGRAPH.
I should stop looking at your stuff, it upsets me because I can draw.... stick figures.
Still really great

I fucking love the lighting you put on this, and even my untrained eyes can see massive improvement.
The only negative I can say is that there's something wrong with the proportions on his face, though fuck if I know what. It's like the angle of his jaw is too obtuse or something, I always recall this guy having quite a dramatic jaw line, that either curves down to a chin rather than have it be as straight as you made it, or chubs up a bit.
Edit:
Yeah, chub.
Edit Edit: And mouth difference.
Yes, his facial proportions are very difficult to pin down I found out. XD I think because they break a lot of traditional rules for placement measuring. (His eyes, for instance, are set so close together that it blows the edges of nostrils / tear duct guide out of the water, especially in that reference.) I definitely need to do some studies of mouths, too -- I always have a hard time with them!
As for the face being a bit too square, if you look at other pictures, it does tend to be a bit more on the square side around the jaw line (I was working from a few different reference pictures because it's difficult to see in that one picture the structure of the face, so I may have inadvertently tweaked the angle/shape while comparing the jawline to other pictures. I could have fiddled with it forever, and did for quite a while, but then you run the risk of overworking the piece, which is bad.. Sometimes you just have to call something done, even if it's not perfect. XD)
All in all, a good study in trying a more difficult portrait. (I may have to try another one with him and see if I can't pin that skull structure down..)

No no, I mean obtuse as in too long or narrow. His jaw is really square, but I think he has quite a loose neck, if that makes sense (like, it doesn't go in as much, so it gives the illusion of a weak chin/jaw). But I could tell a lot of your errors was through using traditional methods of what facial features usually look like, which doesn't all entirely apply to him.
Anyway, regardless, bloody good shot, trial and error and all that! c:
