Disgaea - The Torn Universe [OOC]

This story is about a post-apocalyptic Earth.
Genres: Fantasy, Thriller

By random freak of nature, a Rift in the space-time continuum was created and through it, all manner of foul beast flooded through into the peaceful planet of Earth. These monsters overran just about all of the landscape, slaughtering all humans that were in their wake. The planet, it seemed, was doomed.

Then, just as all was lost, the Angel Aerath, in all of her glory, came through the Rift and saw the catastrophe. She saved as many surviving humans as she could and created a stronghold - the final stronghold - for humankind.

Aerath could not leave the stronghold, or else it would be overtaken by evil forces. Instead of fighting the darkness herself, she bestowed magical powers and abilities to all of the survivors so that they could battle in her stead. Each person had their own unique abilities, to be discovered as the person continued on his or her quest to save humankind.

There are rules, of course.

1. No Godmodding.
2. Players start in the human stronghold, [insert name here], which is located in New York city.
3. Players may have one character.
4. Respect other players.
5. Proper grammar and spelling to the best of your ability.
6. Keep in mind your details so that your character is true to him or herself (i.e. Paladins would take an arrow for another character, etc.).
7. GM's have the final say.
8. At least one paragraph per post.
9. Start your post at the top with your current mission or location.

Name: Normal Human name and new warrior name [Aerath gives everyone a new name when they are transformed]
Gender: M or F
Age: Any normal human age.
Class: Choose one [Paladin, Warrior, Cleric, Mage, Rogue, Archer]
Weapon(s): Choose a main weapon. You may choose a secondary weapon if desired. A tertiary weapon can be chosen from your armor (i.e. shield, gauntlets, etc.).
Appearance: Appropriate armor for the class, but decorated as you please.
Powers: Choose three magical abilities and one ultimate ability to start. Please, no godmodding. Common choices are levitation, spell casting, healing, water breathing, night vision, magical armor, summoning... You may add more powers as you make more posts. Each time you help defeat a boss, you may get one additional power.

Appearance: Leather armor, Boots. He keeps his sword sheathed on his back, preferring to use his fists and daggers.

Powers: Night Vision, Stealth, Runic Blade. Ultimate Power: Clone (Creates a clone of himself)

Biography: Adam was a chef at a small cafe in New York city. He was happy with his life and wanted nothing more but to retire early after gaining ownership of the restaurant. He had a small apartment in the lofts nearby and did not own a car. He graduated from culinary school and was on his way to becoming master chef.

When the catastrophe occurred, Adam was sleeping inside his apartment. He awoke to the sound of explosions, maniacal laughter, and horses galloping. When he looked outside, the Earth had turned from a cool blue to a red inferno. He climbed up onto the roof and prepared to kill himself by jumping off of the building. Before he could do so, however, he was approached by the figure of an angel, and instantly teleported to the Stronghold in a brilliant flash of light.

The angel introduced herself to him and explained the situation. He accepted the fate of the world and chose the class of Rogue so that he could work alone on his missions.

Class: Archer

Weapon(s): Longbow, Throwing Knives

Appearance: Lightly armored, Cape. Carries throwing knives hidden about her person. Keeps her longbow and quiver over her shoulder.

Powers: Alacrity, Dash, Three shot. Ultimate Power: Clear Sight (Asha zones in on an enemy and fires a shot dealing massive damage)

Biography: After spending her youth in and out of orphanages, Karen ran away and lived on the street. Being forced to scavenge and vie with the other homeless for food, clothing, and shelter left her tough and seasoned. She is wise beyond her years, athletic, and quick to lend a hand to those in need of her help.

When the even occurred, Karen first thought the rumbling was an earthquake. After seeing the reddened sky she knew this was no natural disaster. While fleeing for her life she came across a small form lying on the ground. It was a small girl-child, no more than 5 or 6 years old, still alive but unconscious. Karen had to decide, try to save the child and probably die or leave the child and possibly live. Picking up the child, Karen looked for shelter. As the explosions grew louder, Karen knew her life was about to end. She hugged the child close and closed her eyes waiting for the end.

A brilliant flash of light reddened the world behind Karen's closed eyelids. When nothing happened, Karen opened her eyes to find herself in a new and glorious place, still clutching the child to her chest. Aerath approached her and explained all that was happening. Karen accepted and chose the role of archer so she could continue to help those who needed her most.
