Name: Onix
Race: Delilah (pronounced: Dal-lee- ah) A different species of human but human more or less.
Description: Molten dark fire red hair and dark forest green eyes, her glance can be warm and emitting a gentleness despite her fierce looks. Corded muscles and light on her feet Onix is 5’11”, her white skin has a rosy color to it making it healthy and appealing. Average thick lips with what her mother described as hilly upper lip, her smile is often and carelessly seen on her barely sober expression and has much more to say then people with words in her body language alone. Her limbs are graced with coils of muscles, thicker than the normal petite woman they still hold a sense of feminine to the slopes presenting a sign natural’s way of attracting mates. There is nothing fragile appearing on her body; even her arms are notably denser than most females and every ounce of her drips of fighter save for lack of a sober personality.
Her eyes are sideways tear drop shape with a little divot where the duct is, outlined by thick eye lashes and thin eyebrows. The right seems to hold a scar slicing it in half and running down the side of her face, a recently healing one at that which would someday patch over into a vivid scar. Other than that there are few distinguishing marks at least until someone of magical properties touches her bare skin.
Hair is short and messy cut, a single braid down to the base of her neck, in a spikey straight manner. The bangs bend in a widow’s peak and flow along the sides of her face, framing the strong but smooth jawline before the hair turns lighter at the end naturally. Her family once said she made most of them think of the cunning nine tailed fox demon that they worship, with her grin that screamed mischief and her energetic spirit the aura even shaped to a fox. Her ears had a notable bend at the tip but not enough to be outright seen, over looked by a mere glance but if studied, it would bother the view until the flaw was discovered. Like a hidden oval rock in a sea of same colored spots, only found when looked for. Her canine teeth on the other hand are very pointed still human though as they can’t break through the skin on contact but adds to her character.
Ability: Rune Scape-passive magic l no post charge required and constantly on
Onix is touched by natural energies of magic in her blood, simply by the contact of flesh to flesh from another gifted with any sort of magic produces light neon blue runes to appear. One word over and over scattered across her surface as long as contact is made, currently it is a painful matter that racks her mind with jolt of agony catching her attention. A single rune word of old Norse runs over and over her skin from her head to the soles of her feet and tips of her fingers, like a brand of warning, that becomes unbearable if held for long periods of time. If someone knowledgeable in the language could translate the word, it would say: Tainted…over and over.
Foxfire- aggressive magic l 1 post charge
A minor fire based magic in nature. Flames hot as furnace fire engulf Onix’s hands, making them glow white yet remain unharmed as well as fireproof. They can easily catch wood alight and in longer periods of contact, heating metal to the point of being untouchable. Leave small burns on her opponent or burn light weight/thin fabrics easily. The negative point is the flames are easily extinguished in the beginning stages of life, either by water, smothering or dusted out.
Hot Blooded- defensive magic l Higher post charge= stronger l
Able to make the blood within her veins boil as hot as magma and flow as such the pores to the cool surface as it solids into black bits of almost impenetrable bedrock. By simply tightening her muscles and focusing she can create a brief barrier between her and most weapons in mere moments. The higher the charge, though not needed, the more area covered on her flesh as well as the more it can with stand. It is not effective against most weapons, blunt one such as maces and hammers tend to inflict more punch and slowly chip the hard rock away faster while sharp blade merely just slice the surface creating far less damage. The effort used to retain the formation is draining and any feeling to the affected area is lost during the spell, limiting mobility in that limp. Joints are left untouched as only solid and unbending planes are able to be covered.
Back Lash- Defensive l 2 post charge for full strength l 3 times max per battle l
A unique magic, it is not fire based like the rest instead deprives more from the spiritual core of Onix herself. Onix’s body glows in an ethereal red orange light outlining her figure, her pupils are shrouded in green and depending on the charge any battle damage will be seen. When a spell-any summoning can’t be affected- or skill of the offensive type is thrown at Onix and is seen, she can throw the damage she is meant to receive right back at the source by bracing her runic hand forward.
She no receives damage if all post charges are met. If only one charge is met then the damage is only halved and no charges merely just delay the attack for a few moments while not affecting the attack’s direction. With the no charges, the attack will not lash back on the source. When successful, the attack’s full force is tossed back to the attacker’s current location in a direct path that is unable to change or alter, even after the opponent has moved. This includes any other effects the spell or skill might have to still occur in the redirection.
Nine Tails Offering- Offensive Summoning l 3 post charge/ 1 per battle l
When certain conditions are met like extreme damage to her body and bloodied word written on the palm of her hand of FOX (each post is one letter in her language) Onix can summon a fox spirit to fight once for her. Her figure crumbles to ashes, vanishing temporarily from the battle field. In its place is a six foot tall nine tailed fox, black markings of ancient runes burned in the white hide with red silk like scarves floating from its body. Yellow eyes silted with mischief and fierce fury look at the foe before it lets out one destructive attack. Fire ripples from the creature to engulf a 1/4 mile diameter with a wave about 5 ft. high of intense white flame that can blacken steel and sear bone, flesh and muscle on contact. It works like light, burning anything its flame is set upon while those behind a thick object in the shadows of a tree, stone or a large enough body to shield the opponent could escape untouched.
Once end, the affected area is left hot and any effects a flare of hot heat would have would be present since as sand into glass, trees burnt to char remains, and any human in direct contact with the flare is cooked. The beast’s coloring becomes inversed to fade away allowing Onix to return to the field just as she left, albeit slightly more drained and paler.
Most Proficient Weapon: Long sword
History: Her life was perfect and born on a hunter moon; she was special because her gender at first but soon it was clear she was something more. Never a cry since the day she was born, her spiritual father claimed it was because she gave up her voice for power. Her soul father claimed it was because the fox spirit was jealous of its beauty so stole it on the night she was born before anyone had a chance to heard, either way she found it hard not to feel loved or accepted in her tribe. Onix is a female Delilah even in appearance though the differences even from normal Delilah were mild and hard to spot physical but it was her magic and battle skills that took the most attention. She was born to a large family, three brothers of three young parents- two male mates and one female- and cared for by the whole tribe like all children until the age of 10 when the tasks of youth fighter begins.
Raised young to accept battle, blood and conflict though sparring games, beliefs of the afterlife, and defense against either raiding villages or wild beasts Onix is rarely affected in a battle she is prepared to enter. Unlike other female Delilah, Onix was the first and only to have defensive magic other than healing. To be truthful she couldn’t heal at all, merely sear the wounds from severe bleeding but only at request of her mother and where indicated. She grew up with two fathers, one who devoted his life to magic aspect of fighting as the other father to physical combat instead and both completely loyal to her mother.
Both males believed Onix was the beginning of evolution to their female counters, a sign for better times. She became a full adult at 25 when the race believed the body, mind and heart is fully matured. She got her first half of her mating pair, Elrik her soul or physical aspect, at 27 during the first games of the spring season where females that had lost one or both mates were given a chance to once more seek another as well new mature female could claim. Most females mate with 2 males for as long as they live but this only a unwritten tradition that links the group together tighter than just mating like animals in rutting season, some mate with any one or set of males until the next season or with only one. In cases with one, the male and female share the role to focus on the point of the body in the triangle, a rare happening in their tradition that it has only occurred once or twice in the long history.
Everything was fine, until that day of the full moon feast as Onix tried to forget but finds she can’t. The guilt won’t let her, she was found among the smoldering carcasses of her race’s tribe with only glimpse of their fearful and screaming faces to dance in her head. The ground where she stood frozen was untouched; her fellow warriors and family held in gruesome poses and seemed to cringing away from her still fixed in the poses of once celebration. The ground burned and stank, mingling with the heavy scent of burning flesh. Onix now stood as the last of her kind…at least she believed she was.
She had been talking to her spiritual father before hand, using her own blood and dark berry juice to write in her hand when her would be soul mate and a guest were bickering. She gotten to write a simple word, telling of her recent animal sighting before Onix stood up and got between them. Their fight was over a female Delilah, over her future, but this was not the time for quarrels. Onix made her way to block each of the men from each other views only to find blood on her side from a wet sensation. The stranger had drawn his blade while her attention was relaxed, focused and turned away to Elrkin, and then everything felt hot, burning her flesh while she pulled down only to black out.
Now everyone was dead. Few feet away were her brothers … all dead, cradled by her mother in her vain efforts to protect them only to die but why? How? Her spiritual father was curled up closest to her, his body turned up in pain casted in nothing more than a crispy outside while his hand tighten about her foot as if pleading for something. A crack of pebbles on their rocky feast area made Onix’s head jerk up abruptly, a man entering her sight made the teary eyed woman smile briefly to see him alive. It faded the moment his face showed horror to her. She faced him, the grip of her second father’s hand crumbled away, skittering her sandals over the surface with a questioning look. Confusion undeniable on her expression as the man’s trembling hands took up his sword from his back before turning it on a wounded Onix holding her side with a fearsome war cry. It was struggle and cruel battle, harsh words exchange that she didn’t understand. What father could bear to kill his own child and a moment of weakness, her Delilah blood took over in slaying him. She wept over the body while holding him though his weak hands tried to push her way, the life finally drain to where he could no longer move them, cursing her life as if she was some vile monster instead of his daughter. Tears and the blood from her face stained her cheeks, dripping over him but she couldn’t save him.
The scar on her face was his last gift with words that echo in her head even as the ship rocks and Onix feels sick, heading to some unknown place,” If I had only known…you would never have been born…” It was the phrase that cut the deepest.

Other info- Dynamic of the Delilah
Every female has 2 male mates, one for magical and spiritual protection and the other for physical and wellness. The female has battle skills-frequently practice- but tends to lean more to the healing aspect then actually fighting, only when her spiritual mate can’t defend her and the soul is killed/injured badly enough will she take up a blade. The females though hold no strength in physical combat or offensive magic. Her battle skills tend to lack compared to her physical battle counterpart. The race is plagued by a generic disorder which makes the sexes lopsided. It produces more males then females, making this mating trait necessary for survival since its 6 males for every 1 female. Unlike most humans, a curse of magic sort that has been so interbred into the generations it is impossible to remove the effects the gender of the offspring. Both males aid in the raising, development, and creation of the children.
Spiritual beliefs.
When a Delilah dies, they believe waiting for them is a giant fox spirit and you must fight it. The toughest battle you will ever face will be the fox. Defeating it will make it lead the way, across the plains of the afterlife though battle after battle with no rest. You die in the fight with the fox or before making to heaven then your soul is damned to roam alone to slowly became a madden ghost of your former self, stuck on the battle field that you yourself once fought though and forced to add others to your own fate. At the end, something like the Norse Valhalla awaits where loved ones that were strong even in soul, spirit, and body have made it. For eternity you spent your days watching over your descendants, giving them strength though their trails and cheering in the war games to prepare for their own journey into the afterlife.
The culture belief system gave birth to reason for multiple mates were introduced, with the sexes lopsided providing the best chance to procreate and survive when all three point of a triangle: spirit, soul and body were given individual attention by one of the three grouped Delilah. The soul is the will to fight, the spirit is the reason to, and the body is the means to be able. One male solely for the spirit, one for the soul and finally the female's role is the attention to the body.
Psyche
Delilahs are social creatures after all and the females display this best while males have a higher tolerance. Often you never seen a female alone for extending periods, all Delilah draw power form their connection as short as they might be or from what. They also never seem to hold a grudge against a race, merely the cause of their misery then based on race. The worse punishment for a Delilah is isolation as it certain leads to madness and ultimately death, the man’s or woman’s soul cracking a hole to release the spirit into the open to die while the body just stops. A horrible sight that strikes fear in all her kindred, only the blunt betrayal or murder of a fellow Delilah could earn this and even it would be a last resort. Only the death of a female would push the punishment to this point, even if it was done by another of the same gender.
