Save it for the OOC thread (which will probably go up later today given the amount of interest). I take it you're still thinking about the Salarian you posted in the other thread?

Aye, I'll just adapt it to state that Celil became a Spectre.

I hate that ending. The ending they made was so much better than what people try to make. But I guess I'll try and play along.

That's not a very popular opinion, Warthog. How would you rewrite the ending differently, if at all? You don't have to join the game if you don't want to.

I am just wondering how Quarians are involved into the Council, now that they have their homeworld Rannoch again... Could it be possible that they have integrated themselves into the Council and have Spectres?
    What happened to Mel0614...?

The thread for the OOC is up: http://roleplayerguild.com/showthrea...11#post7313211

DarkEternity, I've written it so that the Quarians haven't become Council members but have been accepted as a Citadel race. They have been petitioning the Council for financial and material aid in the resettling of Rannoch, but the Council hasn't been able to stretch to helping them. There has been no shortage of corporate sector interest in helping, though.

As for a Quarian Spectre, it's possible now that they're a Citadel race. The infection thing would still be an issue, of course, but if you think it could work then by all means go for a CS.

Well, personally, I wouldn't rewrite the ending. My opinion is this... Most people hate the ending because there are "plot holes" and Shepard dies. Well...

    1. There are no plot holes. If you get the extended cut, it explains a lot. As does From Ashes and apparently Leviathan. The Salarians weren't hit for one reason: They were out of the way of the blunt invasion. Palavin, Earth, and Thessia housed the Galaxy's biggest powerhouses. The Salarians were scientists and shit, not soldiers. The Reapers eventually did target Sar'kesh but not initially because the Humans, Turians, and Asari were bigger targets. If I fight a war, I don't go after a unit's rifleman first, I target his leader; in the war on the Reapers, the humans were those leaders, and the Turians and Asari were the only ones who could put up a fight.

    2. It was stated plainly, Reapers can't be defeated conventionally. The Prothean Empire and its many races were 100s of times more powerful than this cycle and the best they could do was fight an attrition war with the Reapers and try to bleed them to death. But that even proved impossible. To say this cycle could do it is just not even Mass Effect, its a whole new universe with the Mass Effect shit in it.

    3. Shepard has to die. I know everyone wants a happy ending. But you can't have that. Happy endings to happen in real life, they just simply don't. The Reapers are a force so vast in number that they could continue a 500 year war with the Prothean Empire and still obliterate them. Shepard did the best he could, and the Catalyst make sense, its the only thing that makes sense. Without it, the Reapers don't exist. And without it, none of Mass Effect would have happened. Shepard's death was inevitable, it was foreshadowed throughout the series... Everyone just apparently doesn't understand foreshadowing...

All in all... Yes, the ending wasn't terrific, but it was the only one that made sense in the Mass Effect setting.

And the fact that only a billion are dead... Would mean that most Alliance colonies still exist and weren't hit by the Reapers? The Alliance had like 20 billion, and most of their colonies were destroyed... And most of Earth was butchered... 1/20 dead is incredibly too small. >_>

This is all stuff you'll have to bring up with Prometheus of course but even as someone who'll defend 90% of Mass Effect 3, I think the ending and story in general could have done with better writing. That said, I don't want to turn this into a flamewar over something that's done and dusted.

Was there a battle on Rannoch Quarian vs. Geth during the Reaper conflict? Found a nice pic, but if there was no fight, it would make no sense :P

1). The Protheans didn't win their Mass Effect 1 Scenario, so their central government and communication network, as well as their ability to use the mass relay network was removed at first contact.

2). The idea that an artificial intelligence incomprehensibly greater then our own could only arrive at the conclusion to wipe out everything to save it is laughable.

3). If the star child had direct control of the reapers he could simply shut them down, you know, without power tripping and making Shepard choose three strict options.

4). The idea that a character has to die in a choice/reward based rpg is ridiculous, the whole idea is that if you complete every side quest, make all the right choices and collect all necessary items (multiplayer not included as that should not be irreplaceable to the single player game) then you should get a perfect ending, as you have played the perfect game.

There are more retorts, but this is an interest thread. In any case, I am rather interested.

It would seem that since this was written I have taken on the role of the designer of sexy aliens in advanced nation rps, but it was a lovely compliment all the same.
