Chase Iruzaki and Jinkama Moto
''Just taking a bet in Kumogakure.''
A collab between J8cob and Gerontis
Chase looked around and was bored. The hike was just...Boring...Kumogakure, his old home, was still the same...Boring.
He sighed and scratched the back of his head. It was clear he didn't know what to say to express that he was truly bored, but glanced at his partner. Letting out a loud sigh, he just stood there and waited for him to come up with a plan.
Probably they would have to seek first for some information about their target before they could make a move.
Jinkama stood still and simply scanned with his head. Naturally, the best method to find somebody was to use your eyes. But unfortunately, this attempt was vain and he knew it. There were so many people in the square, and not a signle one looked remotely similar to the target. Simply looking around wasn't going to work. Kumogakure is too large to find somebody with only your eyes. "It seems that he isn't right here," he spoke to his partner, not looking at him but still scanning the crowd. "We're gonna have to ask around. We need to find him without making ourselves known. Perhaps places he frequents often." With this, Jinkama looked at Chase, his eyes a purple color like before. His expression was more inquisitive, like probing to see if his partner had any good ideas floating around.
Chase listened to Jinkama and nodded. Jinkama was right and Chase responded. ''Your right....Hhmm, want to bet I can get the information from somebody in thirty seconds.'' He looked around and waited to see if Jinkama would take this bet with him and a little smile appeared on the face of the serious man. He liked to have a little wager with his old friend.
''Of course...If you are scared to lose, then just say it. No shame in it.'' He glanced at Jinkama and showed him a little cheeky smile.
Jinkama smirked when Chase suggested a bet. "Ha! Thirty seconds, no fights. I'll give you fifty if ya do it," he joked, putting his hand in his pocket and withdrawing a small wad of money. "And if you're a second longer I'll take fifty from you." He looked over the crowd and couldn't put together somebody who would know the target personally, but Jinkama knew Chase probably could get it quick. Thirty seconds was just a stretch. "Prove it."
Chase chuckled, but was cursing in his mind. No fights..Well, he would find a way. Looking for a easy target and saw a young man, who walked like he was something real. He nodded and walked to the male. Jinkama was probably now counting. Chase walked past the man and locked his gaze with the arrogant person. The man just wanted to say something and Chase spit in his face and ran away. Fifteen seconds. Running in an alley he looked back and smiled. The man was following him and he could see Jinkama watching them. Nobody else...Good. Chase turned around and made five lightning clones. The man stopped and waved, stopping his curses. twenty five seconds.
Chase his clones ran up via the wall to jump and close the way of the man, he was trapped. Chase walked to him and spoke with a calm voice. [b]''Where is Jinyaru, the cooking nin?'' Thirty seconds. Chase cursed in his mind as he was running out of time. It would be a lot easier if he could just beat the crap out of him, but before the man answered Chase made a few handseals as lightning chakra started to sparkle around them. ''You die if you don't answer me quickly. The man began to stutter, which annoyed Chase. Fourty seconds. Chase walked to the man and pulled out a kunai.
''I heard he is on a mission! Don't...Please...Don't...I have a-''
Chase dismissed the clones and sighed. Fourty eight seconds. He would have lost fifty if he had kept the thirty seconds. Walking past the man, who went on his knees, begging for mercy, Chase walked to Jinkama.
''Seems I have won.....Fourty eight seconds...He is on a mission...Heh, you know what...If you can find some way to also find information in the same time and condition, then I will try and we will continue until one of us losses...Okay?'' He offered Jinkama.
Jinkama started counting the moment Chase took off walking. By the time he returned, Jinkama had counted forty nine seconds, but the difference was negligible. He smirked goofy as Chase walked up, which was a strange look for a man such as himself. And when Chase began to speak, Jinkama simply burst out laughing. [firebrick]"Oh... That's great..." he spoke, having to pause to catch his breath. Undoubtedly, passerby stared at him funny while this transpired. "Okay. Yes, I'll take that bet." He regained his composure and looked around. Nothing immediately stuck out to him. He pulled out a cigarette and lit it with a match quickly before he saw a passing Kumo nin. He looked back at Chase with a wicked smirk, before walking straight towards the man.
If Chase started counting from when Jinkama began walking, it took five seconds to catch up with the nin. He seemed young, probably a Chuunin going home or maybe even to a mission. Regardless, Jinkama knew this kid was going to be a gold mine. "Hey kid," he said once he was alongside the young shinobi, catching his attention. "Yeah?" he responded, giving Jinkama a quizzical look. "I'm looking for a friend of mine. Jinyaru-sama. I heard he was on a mission, but nobody told me where. It's really important I see him soon," Jinkama explained, pulling off the old friend mannerisms perfectly. The kid thought for a second, and Jinkama realized this was too easy. At twelve seconds, the kid spoke up.
"I don't know you. Are you from here?" he responded, draining the enthusiasm from Jinkama instantly. This kid knew, but was suspicious for some reason. The older man immediately switched gears. He knew Chase was watching, but he decided to delve into the same grey area that Chase had moments ago. As the two passed a nearby alley, the same one where Chase had gone into (though the other man was long gone now), Jinkama acted quickly. He grabbed the kid by his arm and swung it behind his back, essentially turning him captive. The kid instinctively tried to use his free arm to draw a kunai from a pouch on his leg, but Jinkama kicked the back of his knee and put him face-first on the ground. Twenty seconds. "Listen here. I asked you a question. Where is Jinyaru? I'm sure you will tell me..." As he spoke those last words, Jinkama used his own free hand to withdraw a sword hidden in his overcoat and draw it near the young man menacingly. He began to struggle violently, but it was of no use. Jinkama was a significantly larger man this kid, and had more than one upper hand. Twenty five seconds. "Five seconds... Four... Three... Two... O-" he began counting down, conveniently within his own time limit.
The kid cracked. "Okay okay!" I'll tell you!". Thirty seconds. Damnit, Jinkama thought. The kid didn't shout the answer immediately. But regardless, he was willing to answer. "He's in Kirigakure... His team is looking to find some missing-nin... A swordsman I think. Please!" Thirty seven seconds. Jinkama remained silent, but released his grip on the young man. Of course, the kid jumped up and got into fighting stance, but Jinkama expected the sort. Without waiting to give him a fair chance, Jinkama punched the kid in the temple with a hard right. He was out. Jinkama walked back to Chase pissed. He didn't cut it either. "He's in Kiri." That was all he said, because he knew that anything else he'd say would open himself up to humiliation as well.
Chase frowned. ''You used violence....I thought the bet didn't included that.'' He smirked and crossed his arms. ''Heh....So, how we are going to solve this? You actually lost the bet by using violence...But I will be fair..You may try again.'' The young man tilted his head and smiled. ''Unless you want to pay now instead of later.
He held a laughter in as he offered the second chance to Jinkama.
Jinkama frowned. As much as he'd like to prove Chase wrong again, he knew it was stupid. He stowed his blade back in its hidden sheath and pulled out the money again. "Take your money and you keep searching," he said, not quite looking Chase in the eye while he handed out the spoils. It wasn't a total victory for his comrade, but it was still a loss to Jinkama. He reached for his cigarette, then realized it must've fallen out of his mouth earlier. Irritated already, he somewhat angrily withdrew another smoke and match and continued to smoke. "He's not even in town anyways. We'll have to wait or leave too." The fun mood he was in a moment ago is gone now. His eyes were now a noticeable red color. After all, he did fail his own bet.
Chase chuckled and they went walking down the market, ''searching'' for more information about their target, before making a final decision on their next action.
