The Demon Inside (IC)

"Why? Well because of Ferdia of course. And then there's Sarina, the link that kept him from hurting you for quite some time, but that didn't stop him did it? It's all so strange, even to us who those who are supposed to know everything about everything, maybe that's why some are upset... Look Liam, I'm not gonna kidnap you or whatever, I'm just here to make sure that you don't go anywhere or get yourself killed. I'm here to keep an eye on you." Aqua strolled over to Sarina's bed, twirling the key on one finger. "There is a lot in this world that you don't know about, it's hidden, that's why we call our world the Hidden World. because of this demon, you're not really ever going to be able to go back to the life you knew before. you remember that life don't you? you and Sarina, best friends, always together, going to the same school, texting and talking all the time. the normal teenage life. that's over now. I'm sure no one has taken the time to explain this too you. But now you know. I'm sorry it has to be this way."

"Don't tell me I can't go anywhere, I go where I want and I sure as hell can take care of myself," He paused as she continued on talking about his past, "You think I didn't know that when I made the choice to leave, who do you think I am? Some stupid ass fool who's lost and crying for help, just get out and go to hell," he turned away from her and walked over to the patio and stared out at the streets and the starry sky. He could no longer feel the pain in his stomach but for some reason his body had not changed back, he feared he would stay this way for ever but if he did it would come to good use.

The young woman took a deep breath and put on a serious face, her tone when she spoke was just like that of Saffire's, "I wanted to wait before things came to this, but honestly I think I don't really have a choice any longer. The longer I wait, the worse things get. There's a place in Italy, called the Vatican, you might have heard of it. that's where the head of the exorcists is. that's where he oversees everything that we do. it's the organization me and all the others you've encountered are a part of. Jay, Saffire, Sig, Grey, all of them. except for Eron, he's a demon. The point is. I work as one of the higher ups in the exorcist business. I make sure no one is corrupt in the system. Make sure things are stable, that there are no secrets. The incident in Italy that you were involved in was not under my jurisdiction... but now I am making up for mistakes others have made. I'm taking you back to the Vatican, I wanted to wait so I could inform Grey of his crimes but I'm sure he already knows... he should have come to the Vatican and told us about you.... as well as my sister. but it's not up to me what happens to them. honestly. I've done what I can to cover up Saffire and Grey's tracks. But I at least have to be sure you're still stable enough to be around people. She once again grabbed him in a headlock, despite his size she easily dragged him to the door and used her key to open an entryway to the Vatican. From there she past many people and threw him into what was known as the Great Cell, the door slammed shut behind them. There was no getting out, the interrogation had begun.

"I don't care about you or your organization," he mumbled under his breath, he was pissed and extremely annoyed, all he wanted was to be left alone and relax. He was pulled by her surprising strength and put him in a headlock, he tried as hard as he could to get out but it was no use. It seemed that what she was doing was probably enchanting, keeping him from escaping, like a weird and strange set of handcuffs. He soon stopped trying to escape her grip and followed her back through where they came in but this time it led somewhere else, the Vatican, as she called it. People were staring at him left and right, like he was some prisoner, guess he was now. This was something that would sure change a lot, not like it has already but it would change a lot more for a lot of people. After being thrown into a large cell, his instant thoughts were that of Sarina, where she had gone and what she would think when he's not there. He stared at her with deep anger, "What do you want with me?"

Ch. 4
The Vatican

Trapped in a strange place back in Italy, Liam discovers that there are people stronger and more vicious than him. Still suffering from his battle with Eron and the transformation that he endured, he must convince his captor, Aqua, that he is still human or she will have to report him herself to the Higher Ups in the Vatican. Meanwhile, after the exorcists in Paris promise to train Sarina, Gray discovers that Liam is missing but chooses not to tell her for the time being.

The young woman looked at him up and down after the door closed behind them. "I've been trying to help you, this whole time, I've been trying to protect you, believe me the overseer and his minions could do a lot worse to you and your demon than Eron could. I know my sister's and Grey's intentions are good but they're in way over there heads, once the overseer finds out..." She sighed heavily and put one hand on her hip. "Do you want to be a normal human again? Do you even want to be freed from this curse? Think about that girl that burdens herself with you all the time. Sarina, the only reason she wouldn't be hunted by exorcists is because she's got her demon under control" Aqua stepped forward pointing her blade at him. "People aren't always going to be around to save your ass Liam... And you can't rely on Ferdia's power to save you either. It will overwhelm you and you'll lose yourself forever. I'm not going to tell you how. But prove to me that you are still human. Because right now, after what those people in the Vatican saw, they wouldn't believe me if I told them you were, look at you..."

Liam stared at her and smirked, "Your dumber than you look, you think your helping me, ha your only making things worse, if your stupid organization were to stay out our way in the first place, none of this shit would have happened. With Saffire and that idiot kidnapping us, maybe you should have stricter rules here, and Gray interfering with us when were trying to fix this on our own, why don't you keep him on leash, and that dumbass Eron, keep him on a tighter leash. Maybe if you actually did your job none of this would have happened, you and your shitty organization are to blame for all this, not me..." he took a deep breath and looked down at himself, he was definitely different, maybe if Ferdia grew even more anger, he most likely would change to a more demonic form than he is now. He thought for a moment during that silence between them, "Why don't you just let me go and leave me alone, but I guess you can't do that because my demon is out of control, and there's no reason to bring Sarina into all this, Shado might break out the bonds Ferdia made..." he fell back and landed with a big thump, just sitting there, "...I'm not going to enjoy these next few minutes aren't I Ferdia," he said to himself softly.

[Xikari chan]

With a frown Aqua knelt in front of Liam and slapped his face hard. "Would you like to die, because that is what this is going to lead to. If you die, he'll die, and she'll die. is that what you want. Why can't you listen to me? Why won't my words penetrate that thick skull of yours?" Aqua stood up and pulled her hood over her face as she turned toward the huge door of the cell. "I should've just let that son of satan kill you. Do us all a favor. Saffire tried to help you, Gray is trying to help you both, and I'm trying to help you. But if you don't want our help, than you can continue on your own. Now that all those demons and now the Vatican will be after you, neither of you will survive long. You'll end up killing her in one way or another, I hope you're happy with your decision" With her sword gripped tightly in one hand she headed toward the door.

"Hey, where do you think your going? You made this mess now you gotta fix it, I never wanted your help in the first place, so this mess wouldn't be here if were to leave us alone, but it seems that all you have done is create a big burden for yourselves. I just wanted to be left alone but now since you made this problem I don't have much choice but for you to help me." He stared at her before looking down again, his vision started to fade and then all went black.

He blinked his eyes several times till there was no longer blackness and just a dimly lit room where he was just in with Aqua, but this time he was alone, or so he thought. Ferdia fell from the darkness above, "How did you know this was going to happen?". Liam stared at him for a small moment, "I just did, now I'm in the middle of something so what do you want?" The demon said nothing but just smirked at him, he slowly lifted his wings and beat them once as he charged toward Liam and tackled him hard against the wall. This was just a fight, that's all, sure Liam had no chance of winning what so ever and this would be the pain game, he still pressed on to fight. He tried throwing a few punches and kicks at the demon who dodged everything but at his final kick, Ferdia grabbed the ankle, with a smirk he lifted up the leg and threw him at the wall like a baseball. "You know you can't win so why try?" he walked over to Liam and started to pound his fists into the young boy.

Back in the real world Liam grunted several times before he started to yell and squirm, he pushed his body quickly to a corner in the room and started to yell in pain even more, Ferdia was beating him like a crazed gorilla. Bones were breaking and blood was everywhere, but all that could be seen on Liam was heavy tears and a few bruises.

Aqua stopped when Liam spoke to her, she had wanted him to tell her to stop. It was her plan, he had no choice but to except her help or he'd end up dead. She listened with her back to him still. When he went quiet she turned to face him, he swayed a little as if he was going to pass out. Then suddenly he was battered around like a ragdoll being hit with a bat over and over. With a surprised expression, Aqua ran over to the young boy and knelt in front of him. She took his pale hands in her own and squeezed them tight, closing her eyes. "Psalm 41:1-3 Blessed is he who has regard for the weak; the LORD delivers him in times of trouble. The LORD will protect him and preserve his life; he will bless him in the land and not surrender him to the desire of his foes. The LORD will sustain him on his sickbed". Though Ferdia was an angel once upon a time, his curse allowed him to be hurt by such scriptures, at least just a little, just enough for her to think of a more permanent solution. She had the ability to enter Liam's mind, but it wouldn't be easy since Ferdia was there.

The brutal beating continued onward, Liam couldn't hear or see anything that was happening in the real world, for all he knew he could have a firing squad on him at the moment. Then words that sounded like they came from every direction could be heard, they sounded like it came from a religious book. Ferdia stepped back away from Liam, who was now defenseless, broken bones and blood everywhere, some bones protruding the skin. Then he clutched his head as he heard the words, it was hurting him to the point where he had to stop it all, he shouted at the top of lungs.

Liam opened his eyes and saw Aqua crouching next to him, his body wreaked in pain but for some reason it didn't hurt as much as it would have, he stared at her recognizing the voice from the thought. She had set him free, or at least for a little while, only the demon knows when he'll strike again, and it can be any second, but for now everything seemed fine. "What the fuck did you do?"
