Cool. The intelligence was more of a posture thing, so the eyes can be "empty", but it's more like they're glowing white. Perhaps to show that it is a one handed sword, his hand should either be in the middle of the hilt, or the hilt should be shorter. Maybe make the end of the hilt more rounded and less of a ring/orb/stone. Also, maybe make the tail more thin and mouse like, and less bushy and wolf like? Also, not to nag, but I can kinda still see the old version of the head lingering in the new picture. o.O
And again, the headband and some insinuation of his scabbard and shield would be nice, and maybe make his ears more rodent-like and less canine?

Wanted to see your opinion on the shape changes, I'll add in additions after remedying my original mistakes. More mousey though? I'll see what I can do.

Yeah, the shape is good now. Basically it was the hunched shoulders dealio. Okay, I see. Yes, more rodent-like. "Mousey" as it were. I should note that this is a(n) (near) apex form of what started as a shrew like creature (who while being named after a shrew, looks more like a kangaroo rat.)

Lengthen the snout area, make the end of it thinner, and less cloven (more rounded to a singular part, much like the second version of the snout) if you don't mind, then change the eyes to almost how they were in the first image (being only the shapes, as though they're glowing white), but larger than they were initially. After that, it should be good. Thank you so much.

Okay, looks really good. I think at this point we can start to color it. I originally wanted the sword to be black, but now I'm thinking more in terms of black and silver/steel. I'll get back to you once I have that set.

Okay, back. Here's the notes for the color scheme I came up with


I'm not sure if you can see one of the notes properly ('cause I couldn't when I was writing this up), but I'm looking for the bloodgroove to black and the rest of the blade to be a dark gray color.
