Welcome to Roleplayer Guild Academy, where we veteran members of RPG attempt to help out the newer members by offering advice, guidance, and treats, depending on the mentor. For those who need help settling in, and are, for one reason or another, are unable to reach any of the comrades, we will be more than happy to guide you through your RP career until you are ready to metaphorically spread your wings and fly, and not end up an unpleasant stain on the sidewalk. This includes being your personal guide to the forum itself, advice about how to run an RP, how to flesh out your posts, and generally be a helpful person.
Originally, this was a thread called the Mentor Program, or Adopt-a-Noob, and was used for the same purpose, but I, the former creator, eventually got so many applications for mentors, that it became very messy and unpleasant to look at. As such, I have chosen to create a new thread, and reorganise things into a more orderly fashion, so that I actually know where everything is going...probably.
The process goes as such, and I may make some bad GIFs to accompany this later:
1. Find a Mentor.
2. Form contract with said Mentor
3. Eat candy
4. Learn how to RP
5. Improve on RPing
6. Graduate
Along with earning the skills needed to become a productive member of RPG, you will also gain one of these FANTASTICALLY bad diplomas that I found on the internet and modified. At the recommendation from your mentor, you will graduate, and receive one of these in a grand (read: cheap) ceremony within this thread, and you will be added to the graduation list.
In this new thread, I’m introducing a system of ranks to help determine which mentor would be best for which student, based on the criteria of what section they wish to participate in, including Arena, Advanced, 1x1, and, perhaps the most daunting of all, Spam and Forum Games. As such, to respect these people, I will be giving them awesome titles to go along with them.
Do you like to welcome people a lot in the Introduction threads? Then this may be the rank for you. From previous experience, we need people actively trying to find those in need of help and drag them kicking and screaming into this thread. In addition to the normal duties of a mentor, a Greeter should visit the introduction threads often and make them feel welcome, as well as doing a preliminary assessment and asking if they need help.

Gladiators are RPers who like to spend their time in the Arena section of the forum, matching sinew, wit and steel with their counterparts in order to emerge victorious and claim the laurel wreath. These RPers will specialise in helping people get settled into the arena section, as well as the various other sections.

Defenders are those of spam with a sense of duty. These RPers are people with skin thickened by derogative comments, scars caused from verbal battles, and burnt and bloodied fingers from flame wars with other Spammers. Perhaps the most stout-hearted of all RPers, the warriors of spam stand ready to protect the green from the predations of trolls and their kin
Merchants and artisans are much tamer than most other RPers, though their fires may still burn just as bright, but for different purposes. These RPers are the owners of galleries and shops viewed by other RPers, who marvel at their creativity. Those willing to impart their secrets of their arts to new apprentices will help them achieve greatness by assisting them in their endeavours to create a successful shop or gallery.
Teachers are just run of the mill RPGers who specialise in the Free, Casual or Advanced sections alone, or are unwilling to share their secrets. Either that or they don’t have enough time to really give their charges the care they need. Not much else to say.
Professors are all of the above. Not much else to say really, they’re people who dabble and are proficient in everything mentioned above.
Hey, Its-a me!
So yeah, I probably won’t be able to keep up with everything that happens. Even I need sleep, surprisingly, so I’ll probably need one or two secretaries to help me keep up to date. Duties here, apart from mentoring, include informing me of any mentor/student applications, or any other such important things. When I’m not online, I grant you the power to do anything, within reason of course. Preferably, you will be female, wear glasses, hair tied into a ponytail, and a short skirt.

Times when you are most active: I am on GMT+1 in Stuttgart Germany. However, I am currently moving to Shanghai and will be on GMT+8. That means, if you are on the East Coast of the United States I will be precisely 12 hours ahead of you. However, I have my profile linked to email which is linked to my SMS service. So if you send me a private message, I can receive it immediately and respond within a reasonable amount of time. As for a GMT time... I do believe my GMT time in China will more than likely be... 12:00 to 14:00-ish.
