    Medieval Roleplay IC

So it begins, only a couple more things before we start...

    1. Make sure that you have read over the different kinds of races/classes here before starting, as a future reference.

    2. Try to skim over everyone's characters here before starting. I don't expect you to memorize them, but be sure to check out characters as you meet them IC as to ease confusion and make the roleplay smoother.

So with that, let us begin!!!

Intro: The King of Milderal is a greedy king. Every day the taxes increase, smothering the citizens of his Kingdom. Not only that, but with his increasing wealth, he has demanded that a piece of the Faeron Forest be paid as a peace tribute against his growing forces. The King of Faeron has denied his request, as their forests are sacred, and all the Humans would do is cut down their magic trees for profit. The King of Milderal is outraged at the humilitation the Elven have cast on him. In response, all Elven citizens within his Kingdom have had their taxes doubled. Elven citizens are leaving Milderal left and right, trying to build a better life for themselves. Inconsequence, the less populated Kingdom of Grithor has had a spike in Elven citizens. This is bringing commerce to Grithor and increasing it's economy and lessening Milderal's. Now, unable to support his vast armies, the King of Milderal is threatening war against Grithor and Faeron. So far Demaser has remained neutral on the subject, but with murders of both Human and Elven civilians inside of Demaser, the King may be called to make a fateful decision, join the magic powerhouse team of Grihtor and Faeron, or go with the more powerful Milderal. The King of Demaser must choose soon, since threats have been made on his life from both sides of the arguement. This catches us up to today, a world on the brink of war. How will you fit in to this puzzle?

Azurion awoke in his house at Faeron, looking out at the sunlight. Stretching, he got out of bed and got dressed, grabbing his bow and quiver and putting them on his back. He jumped out his window and walked along the streets, wondering what he'd do today. He was getting low on food, so he'd need to go hunting soon. He was also getting short on money, so he'd have to find some work as well.

The current uprising between kingdoms had left Ruavain feeling nervous, with all the human/elven bloodshed and all, he never felt like he belonged to either the human or elven societies. He lived on the edge of the forest in a small hut, on occasion a band of soldiers would pass by on patrol and give him trouble, but that was before the conflict had gotten so bad.
"I think its about time I moved elsewhere," he thought to himself. Just yesterday the soldiers had come by to "collect the taxes" that he owed them and had completely destroyed his home. They had told him that they would be back today, so he had to leave as quickly as he could.

"In Grithor there is a river, and from the river branches, a small river. From that river, a brook breaks off. After a few miles from the break, the brook tumbles down the side of a short ditch into a glittering pool with its own small stream meandering off down the ditch. Fish who often explored down the brook, got stuck in this pool as the short fall was too tall and too shallow to swim back up. This made it an excellent fish spot for those who lived near by, for there where a few."
"Sunlight danced over the surface of the small pool. With every shift in the breeze, the leaves over head would move and change, causing the light to skip, hop, and glide all over the surface of the water. LOOK! This little display caught the attention of a salmon, tricked by the moving light into thinking that it was food. It darts to the surface, and nips repeatedly at the light trying to feed its stomach. But light is light, and can not be eaten. Suddenly a flicker of light behind the salmon sharpens and darts into the water AND--!"
As the salmon darted away from between his fingers, Long let out a yell. "For the love of getting breakfast, WILL YOU PLEASE stop narrating everything I do." He shot a glance over at the other spirit sitting on the pool's bank as he dropped the light and took his birthed form, the other just grinned back at him. Standing waist deep in the water, Long was in the shallows, his fishing adventure done, for no fish would fall for that trick a second time before noon. "You asked for fish for breakfast, now you're not getting any. Come on lets see if there are any berries left in the patch." He made his way to the shore, as he did so he gathered the water off him, and moved it into his hand. As he passed the other spirit, he dumped it on him. "Thats more like it, now lets get going." The other spirit stood, still grinning.
"Aren't you going to put some clothes on, Hao?" It was a useless question, he already knew the answer.
"I didn't bring any, Tian" With that Long slipped off through the trees, Tian following behind, shaking his head.

Grayson awoke with a gasp. Nightmares have dominataed his dreams since his last mission. He still couldn't get the scene from his head, it was all going fine till he met the man in the red hood. The man knew Grayson was there, and had reached out, and plucked him out of a nearby shadow. Grayson had tried to teleport, but somehow couldn't. He was lucky enough to have a guard pass by, so red hood disappeared. Shaking the memory from his head, Grayson got up and changed into his casual clothes, he had to go to the market to get supplies today. He slipped a few gold coins from a jar under his bed and slipped out his front door, locking it behind him. He walked down the road and passed an elven man who seemed to have a lot on his mind, so Grayson passed him a friendly wave before continueing down towards the market.

Crystal brushed a strand of curly black hair behind her ear, then lifted the hood of her brown cloak so it concealed her face. She was near the edge of Milderal, and wasn't sure exactly why she had wandered there. Perhaps to escape the sight of the beggars in the streets, oppressed by their greedy king. Her green eyes scanned the area around her coldly, and she resisted the urge to double check that both her daggers where still with her; there was no reason to look suspicious. Although, she mused, it wasn't as if people already knew to look out for pickpockets like herself.
She paused and looked around her. She had gone farther into the woods than she had intended, and didn't recognize the area around her. Now she couldn't help reaching for a dagger, unsheathing the one that was on her belt and holding it by her side as she turned, searching for a good path back home.
Home. Hah! As if she really had one. The thought brought a smirk to her face, although there was an unmistakable glitter of pain in her eyes.

    -----------------------

Drago narrowed his eyes in irritation as he tugged the sleeve of his black cloak away from a snagging thorn bush. He eyed the new tear in disgust, but continued walking despite the small disaster. A forked tongue flicked out of his mouth, testing the air, then he let his tongue return to its human form, although he hated it; it felt awkward in his mouth, and he could only taste with it. It felt like losing one of his senses.
All the same, he found what he had been looking for. He sat down by a stream and drank the cool water, then leaned back on his hands and enjoyed the serenity of the area around him. If tensions were high between the kingdoms, you wouldn't be able to tell by looking at him. Still, this relaxed air wasn't very common for Drago. He was just in a good mood that day, though it would be hard to tell why.

Long followed Tian to the Patch, as the few locals called it. Only five homes made up the small nearby village, with another five or so scattered around it. It was a small community and out of the way of anything that would be considered of great importance. As Tian and Long entered the Patch they saw across it a neighbor, an Elemental by the name Sa'ah, and she wasn't alone. An Elven woman with what appeared to be her two young children stood with her, and she seemed to be explaining something to them.

"Sa'ah! Hello!" Tian rushed forward, energetic as he always was. He reached the small group far before Long was even half way across the Patch. By the time he made it to the group, the two children had been ushered off to gather berries by their mother, a dark look across the elders faces. "Sa'ah, is everything alright?" Long brought the group's attention to himself as he joined. The Elf, after quickly noticing he wore no clothes, made a point to look directly at his face and no where else unless she spoke to the other two.
"You really are secluded out here, aren't you? Truly not one of you has heard before now?" Her voice was light and airy, and rather tired. "Perhaps we made a better choice moving out here than what I fist thought. We will be safe here." A sigh escaped her.

Leaving his home he noticed the soldiers coming earlier than usual. He knew he had to get as far away and hide, but he wouldn't be able to outrun the men with horses. He knew of a small village to the south but that was still quite a ways away.

"What do I have to lose," he said running into the forest to avoid the soldiers.

Jivusa was walking through the cobble roads of the small village, partially illuminated by the lights emitting from the cots and the few lights on the road. He was unsure where to actually go. He watched the sun as it has ended the rising phase. The sun was clear over the horizon. Jivusa looked at the hairline that was the horizon between heaven and Earth, taking in the red and violet colors of the morning sky. This sight reminded him of his family at Shibatao Temple. He felt homesick, and walked up to a few women in fancy clothes(to Jivusa, anyways) and asked where he could get some food. The tallest pointed to a building that read "Tavern" on it.

He entered the building, taking in the aroma of fresh food. He smiled at the joyous fragrance. He approached a woman behind a desk on the wall opposite the entrance. "Hello, may I interest you in some of our fine baked goods?", she said with a warm smile and a hearty tone. Jivusa, who was strange to food outside the temple, said,"Yes, please". The lady gave him a grin and went into a half-door to the kitchen. She came out moments later with some golden brown bread and stew. She said,"On the house, for you". Jivusa let of a,"Thank you, kind lady", and sat down at a wooden table. He picked up a spoon, what seemed to be made of a light metal, and started on his meal.

Jivusa took a half-hour to finish the food. His stomach was warm from the fresh food, and he couldn't eat any more. He brought the empty bowl and plate to the woman from earlier. "Thank you. I'll be sure to re-visit soon", Jivusa said with a wave as he exited the door. He started walking down the smooth cobble road, looking around the town. He was satisfied with his experiences so far, outside of Shibatao Temple.

Gea wasn't at ease this morning so she did what she always did stared at the skies. The clouds contained much wisdom, whether it be the weather or the ways of the world. Sadly no matter how long she gazed at the glistening puffs which would seem ordinary to anyone else she only felt turmoil. The world gave her no comfort today only anxiety and the inability to calm her mind. "I'll calm down in the noon perhaps." She said getting up and begging to cook some old potatoes. It wasn't much of a meal mostly just baked potato and whatever she had left. She ate still in confusion about this eery feeling in her gut as if she was torn about something just not sure what yet. After she finished she had set off to get something to eat on her travels if she couldn't hunt something. Hopefully the market a lone would do. So she set off singing the songs she had remembered from her master to ease her as she walked.
