Ion Storm
Gene's most basic attack, and also his most diverse. With it, Gene can conjure and launch plasma with great speed as a projectile. The size of the projectile varies, but smaller ones can be fired in succession much faster than larger ones. With a small enough "plasma bullet", Gene can reach a rate of fire of over 1000 RPM. The form and shape of the projectile can vary as well. Compressed plasma, electrical arcs, ball lightning and plasmic fire can be launched as beams, orbs, pulses, toroids or bolts, interchangeably.

Plasma Gimmick
Another versatile technique, with which Gene can create translucent spheres of plasma of varying size and solidity. While the physical durability of these constructs varies by how much energy Gene puts into them, they are universally impervious to energy-based attacks, oftentimes reflecting them without dampening the power behind them.

Nova Impact
Gene's psychic power has passively altered his atomic state to be highly resistant to ionization, decay and exothermic reactions. In other words, he is extremely resistant to heat and radiation, and is immune to his own plasma. The Nova Impact technique exploits this by covering his limbs in plasma to give extra power to his barehanded attacks, and by reflexively launching plasma (a la Ion Storm) into his opponent upon an attack making contact.

Arc Aura
His only ability that cannot harm others, Gene can ionize the atmosphere around him to create auroras, starlight and nebulae. While he can control the color, size and intensity of the gaseous constructs, he has very little control over what shape they take, though that usually makes little difference. Being intangible, these constructs are non-offensive, but can be used as signals, distractions or to dazzle opponents.

Back Story
Unlike seemingly many other psychics, Gene led a relatively normal childhood up to and past the discovery of his abilities. The only thing that could possibly be described as "tragic" in his upbringing would be the divorce of his parents when he was rather young, though both remarried happily and (while he lived mostly with his mother) his father maintained a strong presence in Gene's life.

Gene's life was not much altered from its usual state by the discovery of his latent psychic ability. He continued to be, while not popular, well-liked among his peers with a sizable number of friends and an eclectic variety of interests and hobbies (musical theater, cinema, model miniatures, electronic music, kickboxing, Japanese animation, tabletop gaming, military history, etc.).

When he discovered his abilities around his thirteenth year of age, he shared the discovery with his parents and other immediate family members very quickly. All were very accepting of his status as a psychic, with such claims as "Oh, I had a feeling you were special all along, Gene!" His ex-soldier father took particular interest in Gene's abilities, and took Gene out most weekends to the empty farmland in upstate New York (as they lived in Queens) for training with them. Gene learned from his father military discipline, some basic combat tactics, the practical application of his kickboxing hobby to hand-to-hand combat and Gene got plenty of practice with his plasma-based psychic powers (which were strictly prohibited from use in his home).

When his letter of invitation to the local psychic academy came, there was a bit of discord among his family members as to what he was to do. While his mother was opposed to Gene becoming a "child soldier", his father thought that the Academy was would be Gene's "first steps into a much bigger world". Gene eventually decided to join up with the Academy, hoping to do a great service to the rest of the world with his talents.

Plasma is defined the fourth state of matter; a partially-ionized gas in a highly-excited state. It is found on Earth in a variety of forms, including lightning, aurora and extremely hot fires. It is the most common state of matter in space, as stars (and therefore nebulae and supernovae) are composed of plasma.

Void Blades - Nox can create ripples in the space around his hands to create razor sharp edges, cutting anything that touches them.

Void Force - Nox can concentrate his powers into a single point on a surface which he can activate at will, creating a single use burst of energy which pushes back, and possibly stuns, those who come in contact with it.

Void Wave - Nox can create a short range "wave," which allows him to exert force on anything within its range, allowing him to defend himself against slow projectiles and impacts.

Void Break - Nox can fire a focused shot of kinetic energy at an opponent, which generally is similar to a punch. Nox's current range is around 5 meters.

Back Story

From the day he was born, Nox was always considered a strange one. Instead of playing outside with the other children, he would stare at the pavement in wonder. He spent very little time with his peers, always with the same blank look on his face. His parents began to worry about him, as he didn't seem to make any friends, and rare spoke, even to them. He wasn't unfriendly, when he did speak, he seemed almost like any other child, but he simply didn't want to. He just didn't seem normal.

And he wasn't. It happened one winter evening. A wayward snowball was flying towards Nox, who was making his way home from school. Without a single word, he swung his arm outward, and the snowball burst into pieces while it was still flying through the air. Surprised at the revelation, his parents tormented themselves for days trying to figure out what to do with him. They finally decided to send him away to the Academy, uncertain that he would be accepted anywhere else.

You can consider "Void" manipulation to be control over a translucent matter that can be bent to a number of uses.

What's with people and there overly-complicated elements? The only other two that aren't based right out of a college textbook would be ice and lightning...

I'll admit, that last one didn't make any sense to me. No idea why you called it "Void" when it's really obviously "Force" that you manipulate. It'd be nice of you to relinquish the word "Void" as it could be used by another player for something more accurate to the word.

Force feels a bit Star Wars-y, which I don't want. I will admit that "Void" is a bit forced, so I guess I'll work on it. For now, I'll just let it sit, and change the name when I think of something better.

Astral projection:
Tricia can project her soul out of her body and travel for periods of time outside it, much like a ghost, remembering it all when she returns to her body. However, she cannot touch thing's, she goes right through it and leaves her body vulnerable. If she if killed in this form she will remain a visible ghost permanently.

Dream walker:
She can enter dreams at will when asleep, manipulating them and flipping through their memories easier the more she visits them. As she improves on this ability she will be able to do so consciously, scanning them and do so without their knowledge of the intrusion upon their minds. Once in their dreams however, she latches on and takes complete control, able to literally scare them to death, lock them into a coma like state or give them sweet... Peaceful dreams.. Dreams that corrupt thinking... Anyone without a natural born ability to block it is defenseless. Of course until she learns how to do so awake she must be asleep to do so.

Spirit sight:
Tricia can see the spiritual world in her consciousness, this includes the dead who are not visible to the naked eye and the emotions of others in the form of a spirit trail. She can track whomever she wants by following their emotional trail, knowing every emotion they have along the way. Right now she currently has problems with high traffic areas, the colors so bright that she wears special shades to block them out until she needs to track down a trail, this also is a great way for people to lose her and that's through high traffic.

Foresight:
She is able to see images of things that have happened in her dreams, and things that have. She can foretell someones death, important events and make accurate predictions. However, this is a skill that only happens rarely, if ever for her and is extremely unpredictable.

Back Story:
Tricia is a very shy person, while not anti social, too much contact with people makes her uncomfortable and she will distance herself until she has time to calm down. She is recently learning how to deal with emotions, given that the last few years of her life she had nothing until picked up and taken in by the academy from another who had used her to track people, and influence political decisions in her native country however, they had been abusive to her, wanting her only to focus on her abilities instead of having a normal childhood. Having custody taken from her parents who protested the government had their way with her, using her in a multiple amount of situations, forcing her to create a place in her own mind to lock her emotions away so they couldn't hurt them. After a series of events she was drafted into this academy where she was safe however she still is on guard, always watching for the beginning signs of people abusing her abilities for their own gain so she can dissapear again. However the little time she is here, she will open up and learn to live life properly instead of being a empty shell.

Well, I thought of it in terms of "exerting a force".

Might I offer a few suggestions? "Kinetics", "Vectors" "Motion" and though you'd have to do a bit of rewriting maybe "Sonic" would be cool?
