Van Helsing jumped to the jeep with one big leap. Women, they were just too hard to understand, he noted to himself. Anne started the vehicle as soon as he'd entered. No seatbelt for him, he just hated that kind of things. Letting her get used to the control, Van Helsing just merrily humming christmas tone, which was out of season since it wasn't even near to December, while looking out to the street. Night in the city wasn't too crowded, partly due to the Church exhaustively recommending people to stay inside in their home rather than walking around in the night.

"We've located a small Covenant around the suburbs. Their connection to the Ancient Covenant isn't clear yet, but I daresay we'll get a lead or two from them. At the very least, we can have fun," he smiled while patting his shotgun. "I'll be the vanguard for the raid. You, too, since I believe you'd be angry if I didn't say so."

Anne listented to Hellsing, not taking her eyes of the road though. She snickered a bit when he spoke about the small covenant. She nodded and glanced at him."Thats right, you know me.." She said and smiled a bit, she did miss that, all those years she was working on her own were hard but she slowly got used to it, reasoning with herself that she did it for a good reason... She felt like a hypocrite now, cooporating with the man who killed her husband. Finally as they got to the small town, Anne stopped the car in the woods near the town so it won't be too visble."So, what else do you know about this while war thing?"

The "woods" actually served as a park for the city, one of many projects of revitalizing natural lifes around metropolitan areas. Ironically, the thick shades and dark areas at night provided perfect hiding place for Vampires and such. Due to the the Church's extensive protection, though, the danger in the area was reduced to nothing. Now the wood was, without the public knowing, authority of the Church. Van Helsing led Anne around the area, lit by several lights placed on small paths made by the Hunter association.

"Vampires and Werewolves had hated each others for generations, now. Each of the two claimed to be the owner of the world and viewed the other as their rival. Us humans' confrontation with them had prevented them from going out of war, since they must focusing in defending against us as well without making their existence public knowledge. However, recently two prominent leaders had risen into power. The Werewolves are now led by the Moonlight Clan, a conjugation of numerous other Clans united under one single werewolf, Lucas Kanavant. His nickname is the Black King, although I don't know why. Nobody had encountered him in person after all..."

In a few minutes they'd reached their destination, a small cabin in the edge of the wood. It was officially a place for the guards to take a break in their patrol, but the Church had outfitted it into their outpost. "The Vampires are the same. Led by the newly-formed Ancient Covenant, they have started uniting other Covenants under their wing. This would mean creating a great organization, one so big they can rival the Church itself," he knocked the door three times, pausing a bit, and then knocked it again two times in rapid succession. It as opened by Van Helsing's clerk, who was now extremely different with weapons hanging all around his clothes. "Like old time, eh?" He snickered at Anne.

Anne wondered, whether or not should she tell him about the Black king ''visiting'' her house.. Then she would have to explain to him why... And whats worse.. If she'd know she would at least try and capture him. She figured she'd make something up. But before she could react he already kept on speaking about something else, so, she let it go. Once they reached to the door Anne raised an eyebrow and glanced at Hellsing."You never changed the secret password? It's been ages! God Alex you never change anything do you..?" She asked and smiled a bit looking at him before she glanced at the clerck and then back at Hellsing."How about we first try and reason with the covenant? Maybe make a deal with them? After all its always good to have people on the inside." she noted and smiled.

Inside the small cabin was a group of Hunters. Some had such experienced light on their eyes, while others was even still visibly nervous, perhaps being newly-recruited members in these kinds of job. "You still remember Richard and Doe, right? They're still here with me. They've just returned from a dispatch mission."

"Nice to see you still alive and kicking, Anne girl! Finally decided to join us back, eh?" From the center of the room came a bulky man in tank-top and black khaki pants. His height was enormous, easily towering even Van Helsing. His face was, contrary to his intimidating appearance, filled with jolly smile. Richard the Demolisher, that was what they called him. In his younger days he was said to killed hundreds of Vampires using only his brute strength.

The other man Van Helsing called Doe was a pale-skinned man in what one could only say as dark-colored sweater. He didn't say anything to Anne, only looking with uninterested expression constantly hovering on his face. After a moment he showed a faint smile, though, indicating that he indeed was happy to see Anne again after so long. Trigger-Happy Doe was a splendid marksman, specializing in every type of firearms available.

"I'm sure your old team was here, too. I wonder where'd they went to. Whatever, about your plan, what do you mean getting a deal with them? You can't reason with those bloodsuckers, remember? What makes you think we can just stroll there and go out peacefully without ourselves getting a bite in the neck?" Van Helsing snorted.

Anne smiled as the large man entered the room. She placed her hand against her forhead as if she was looking at the sky and grinned."Boy, Richard, you got any higher?" She asked and smirked glancing at him. He was indeed a tall man. She snickered when he asked if she decided to join back to them and then replied."It's only temporarly you know." She said and then glanced at Doe knowing his usual behaviour, so, it was kind of surprising to her when he showed a smile, even if it was a small one.
When Hellsing noted that her old team might be there she got rather nervous. She was in a good relationship with them though when she left they took it very hard, one of them, Veronica, who back in the days was only a teenager, not by much younger than Anne, simply adored her, didn't let her go for a year after she left, so it might be a bit hard.

Once Hellsing made his comment she tilted her head to him and raised an eyebrow. She didn't get excited though, she knew his thoughts about all thats not human."Well we could always try. If they would decide to attack then we can attack back. Maybe send one person to try and get to an agreement with them and send some backup, so, they could know that we want to stop this war from happening? " She asked and glanced at the other guys as well.

Richard and Doe exchanged glance when Anne expressed her idea. "You know Alexander, Anne sounds strange..." Richard commented with rather goofily voice.

"...drop it," he casually held up his hand to them, telling them to stop. Then he turned back to Anne. "Seriously Anne, do you think we want to stop this war or something like that? This is our chance to destroy them, right when they're busy fighting each other. We can strike them to their defeat as they've been weakened by each other's attacks. It's fine to go there as a spy, but to stop the war...I don't see the logic behind that."

"Also, I don't think anyone would be brave enough to go there, Miss Anne," the clerk remarked. "They view us as either enemy or food. Either way we'll be struck down the moment they sensed our scent. It's just impossible, isn't it?"

Anne glanced at Hellsing and raised her eyebrow."Do you have any idea how much they are? Do you have any idea how strong they are? Iv'e been face to face with the Black King and even if I'm not a werewolf he intimidated me, so even if we'll be a hundred.. No, a thousand people theres no chance we'd beat him even if he would be caught of guard! And I don't even want to start speaking about the vampire king! Trying to eliminate him would cost us a lot of lives, much more if we'll try to stop it!" She said and then looked at the other men. She wasn't afraid to die.. She was afraid to leave William alone, cause now, she wasn't only fighting for herself like she used to.

"You need to get your minds working. We need to get to sort of a treaty with them, in some way, but we can't beat them, they outnumber us by a bunch.."

"Outnumber US? Anne, are you mad? Don't you see how much we have here?" Van Helsing swished his arm around, and everyone around grinned with pride. "Do you forget that we are Hunters of the Church? If they numbered millions, we numbered billions. If they numbered billions, we will be ten times more than them. Their only reason for existence up until this point is their elusiveness and our stalemate condition. With this war tipping the balance off, it is our perfect chance to send them to oblivion!" Van Helsing shoved the gun out from his jacket, pointing it to the ceiling. "Josh did not give me this gun for decoration; he give me this to fight. And fight I will, as everyone else here will."

His speech was accompanied with loud cheers. If the new kids were once nervous, now they were filled with vigor. Taking chance inside the hype, Van Helsing stepped closer to Anne so others wouldn't hear what he was saying.

"YOU've faced the Black King, Anne? What do you mean?" he glared at her, eyes showing disbelief. "Explain to me."

Anne looked around and pursed her lips. Most of these hunters weren't as expirienced as their old friends, obviously since she never saw them in the last seven years. She eyed Hellsing when he mentioned Josh and then hissed."Josh didn't plan on you killing off his own Covenant, so don't start with me." She said with the same venom, how dare he to even mention Josh in that contexct? Though, once he asked her about the Black king she eyed him and sighed."One of his men scratched my face like that. He left my apartment about ten minutes before you cam along Alex." She said and bit on her lip. She was speaking out of pressure and she let the small but yet important detail to slip out of her mouth.
