The harsh rain poured down onto the large mansion which would be lighten up time to time by a flash of lighting and some moving candle lights inside. Other than that though, everything was completely darken. Which was the way Kaiju, Japanese for "monster", liked it. The pale white mask clashed with the dark body suit he wore; the mask itself was enough to give kids and adults alike, nightmares. Besides from being pale white the mouth on it was opened, jagged teeth poking out and colored red as if the mask had just drank blood, the eyes were made large and slanted with a blood red outline around the black sockets as if the eyes had been clawed out, which might explain why there were painted scratch marks on the cheeks as if a victim had somehow been able to leave her mark on the mask. OF course under it, there was such no monster. Behind it was actually a handsome young man who was lucky enough to be born to a working girl who died when a john thought she wasn't doing a good job and slice her throat. That was a great tenth birthday for the young man. That had been almost eight years ago now.
Carefully opening the window that lead inside one of many halls of the mansion the young with skill and talent moved though the halls and was able to blend into the shadows that he knew better than his own hand. Looking around he took in a deep breath and went into a darken room, the fire place was lit of course but it was so dim now that it didn't give off much glow. Grinning under his mask he went to a safe that was uncovered, most likely for the son to take a look inside. With a quick hand he started to unlock the safe, listening carefully for the hint of the click the lock would make each time he got the right number, he would smile to himself and could already see the riches that would be inside. Of course a scream messed him up and cussing under his breath the thief shook his head and ran his fingers though his black hair. Now ... the numbers were seven; twenty; and ... damn what was that last number? he asked himself before a scream came again.
"You little bastered! You are going to give me what your father owes me! Till then I'm going to make sure you remember what I can do!" a large booming voice ripped though the once silent rooms. Jumping up he growled softly "Of all nights there has to be a fight now." he whispered to himself. Going to the door he peaked into the next room to find a rather large angry looking back who was backing up another one. From the angle the thief was looking from he couldn't seeing the other man's face, but a glint of silver caught his eye. A knife. Well it sucks to be that guy ... wait ... wait why am I thinking about saving him? Damn it! I'm not! I'm not! ... I am! ... Fuck me over with a shovel. quickly he slipped into the dimly lit room, him mask still firmly fasten to his face. Taking out his small dagger he moved slowly to sneak up on the man but stepped some something that made a loud click sound as it was crushed under his foot.
Soon the large man had turned to the thief, swinging wildly as he tried to cut him up. But being slimmer and faster he was able to dodge all the attacks but found one good hit had unfasten his mask and now made it slipping off.
"How brave are you without that mask boy?"
"Braver than a man who tries to kill another who is clearly weaker." he hissed. The large man laughed and lunged forward, tackling the thief down. His mask flew off and his coal stained face now reveled. Not wanting to be recognized he quickly jabbed the man's face and looked for anything that would hide his identity. Soon he found it, a masquerade mask. It was black but had gold on it as well. Without asking he quickly pulled on the mask and tighten the back of it so it wouldn't fall off. The large man rubbed his eyes cussing, with a quick punch to the throat he was left on the floor, in pain.
Turning to the man he had just saved the thief stood quite, the dim candle lights not only highlighting the mask or the boy's facial structure, but as well as the smudges of coal on his cheeks.
"I'll be leaving after I get what I came for. You owe me at least a ten minute start." he said before grabbing his mask and dissappering into the next room. Unlocking the safe quickly he took all he could and stuffed it into a simple pillow case which had nine other cases so it wouldn't just pop open; a lesson learned from his younger years. Returning to the room he looked at the lug still on the floor. "I'll return the mask later ... have a good night." he said before exiting the room once again and heading back to the window he had entered from.
The prince was slightly in shock as he watched the whole scene take place in front of him but it was over almost as quickly as it started. "Whoa...wait!" Kaden called and ran after the well known theif. He knew exactly who he was, since he had a reputation around the town but he'd never seen him so up close and personal. Though, one thing that throughly confused the boy was that the theif helped him, when he'd figured that he'd kill both him and the guy that was trying to murder him for the things that his deceased father had done in the past.
The prince had finally caught up to the theif just as he was about to slip out of one of the many windows that inhabited the mansion. "Wait...why'd you save me?" He asked curiously, slightly out of breath from all the running.
Swinging his leg over the window stall he looked back to the prince and made sure the new mask was still held on tightly to his face. Leaning back he ran his fingers though his black hair and sighed as he closed his eyes.
"If you were to be murdered in here their would be tighter security around this place than there already is. And since I've been planning to hit this place for awhile now, I don't wanna lose it now." he explained. The rain outside was now pounding down and it seemed like the thunder had followed. Standing on the stall he flashed a smudged smirk on his face as he leaned over, tilting the prince's head back the thief leaned forward and stole a kiss.
The one thing no one knew was that if the owner of the house was home that the thief would kiss them, both men and women, before leaving. It was a odd thing but he did it and usually left the person in a shocked state. "Goodnight, dear prince." he said softly before jumping to the tree, loot in hand, and making his escape. Soon the guards had rushed to the prince, the man that had tried to kill the prince had escape and they wanted to know if he was alright.
Making it home the young thief sighed closing the old wooden door behind him and taking off the mask, his foggy, dream-like blue eyes scanned his living space. A old lumpy mattress, wooden powered stove, rusting pot and pans scattered on the floors and the small candle's light flicked in the darkness. The thief, known to his friends as Tim, washed the coal off his face and the sweat that stuck to his body. Pulling off the body suit Tim yawned and fall on the bed, his body limp and sore from work and from that fight. No one would have figured the quite, 6'0", pretty boy could ever be a thief. And one who could hold his own at that.

"I-I'm fine..." The prince stuttered and placed his fingers lightly on his lips. The actions of the theif that night had throughly surprised Kaden. The guards ushered the tramtatized boy away from the window and back down the hallway to his room, but, after realizing that it was a mess due to the intrusion, they took him to one of the many guests rooms, but Kaden was vaguely aware of what was going on at the moment...his brain was still slightly in shock...
It took a while, but Kaden had finally convinced the guards that he was fine enough to sleep alone that night. As he snuggled under the covers, tonight's events replayed themselves multiple times in his head, specially the kiss, for some odd reason. It was obviously the theif's 'mark' or whatever you want to call it, but Kaden couldn't stop thinking about it. Sighing, he made an attempt to clear his head and fall asleep...

The following the morning the city was wet as it could ever be, Tim yawned and rolled his shoulders as he leaned back well looking out of his window. Everyone was out and about, talking the thief and the stories that were behind his back story. Chuckling himself he smiled and got dress for work in the mines or any odd job that would be thrown his way. Grabbing his pair of worn brown pants, a very old white shirt, and his paper boy hat that he had since he was a child, Tim made his way out from the crap of a room he called home and went to check out what he could find today.
Today it seemed like Tim wouldn't have to be in the mines and that he could help a farmer deliver some fruit fruits, vegetables, and meat to the prince's home. Chuckling to himself he didn't say anything and just stood in the back of the wagon as they were pulled though the winding road.
"Lets see, hey mister, you know if you'll need more help?"
"Yeah, yeah I will actually. Looking for a job other than mining?" the older man asked. Tim nod and smiled as he leaned out of the wagon and held to the wood that kept the food stuff in.
"Guess you could say that."
Soon the road to the back of the large mansion and Tim started to unload all the food into the kitchen. The older man collecting his money and then helping with the unloading.
That morning, Kaden had awakened with almost no recollection of the night before, but, once he actually glanced around and noticed that he was in an unfamiliar room, all those memories came flooding back. I wouldn't be here right now if it wasn't for that theif... it was an unsettling thought, since he'd just realized how close he'd been to being killed. Sighing, he ran a hand through his dark brown hair before getting out of bed. Despite the attack, he couldn't neglect his daily duties.
"Ah, good morning John!" The prince, now clean with a traditional black and white suit on, exclaimed with a wide smile as he made his way down the steps. He knew the older man well, since he'd been delivering his food every week since his father was a young man. "How are you this morning.
Turning to the prince the farmer smiled and bowed, though it did cause him some pain since he wasn't use to bending over. "Good morning my prince. I am good." he smiled standing back up and putting his straw back on his balding head. Tim walked in and pretended not to even notice the prince until a older woman slapped him behind the head and told him bow before royalty. Muttering something the young man bowed "Good morning Prince." he said simply before going back out and getting the rest of the food stuff out and placing them in the kitchen.
He never made any eye contact with the prince and was very quite. The farmer had stopped helping to chat with Kaden for a few minutes. "Lad! Come over here for a minute." he said smiling. Walking over Tim bowed since more, a small smudge smile formed on his lips as he bowed. The farmer didn't notice it. "Yes mister?"
"You know anything about the thief?"
"Besides the rumors? Nothing.."
"Ah darn, that's too bad." Kaden said with a small frown. He hadn't told the farmer all the details of what went on that night, so he had no clue as to why the prince really wanted to know of the theif's current location.
"Excuse me, Mr. Kaden?" a maid called as she made her way down the stairs. "Two of our fellow co-workers have died from that fever and now we are low on staff." As she spoke, a concerned frown crossed the prince's face. He cared deeply about each and one of his house staff. "Tell their families that they may have the next couple of days off untill they can get back on their feet." The girl nodded and hurried back up the steps. Kaden sighed. "I have no idea where I will be able to find some extra hands from before the dinner next week..." He thought to himself outloud.
"Well. No one knows who he is or where he goes, no one would know much." he explained. John had over heard what had happened and looked back to Tim who had returned to unpacking the last of the crates. John smiled and looked back to the prince.
"Mr. Kaden. I didn't mean to over hear but I couldn't help it, you need extra help? Well I'm more than happy to leaned a few of my farm hands to you. Also I'm hiring a new one, the boy behind me. He seems pretty truth-worthy, a quite kid but he works hard, might be able to talk to him and see if he can work for you." he smiled.
Tim wasn't paying attention and just kept getting the crates. Soon he was done and had joined back to John's side. One thing that Tim knew about himself well was this--He could stand to kiss a rich person, but working for them would drive him insane.
Kaden looked at the boy thoughfully. He did seem like a good worker but he also didn't like to force others to do anything that they did not wish to do. "Hm, only if they'd be willing to work for me. I do pay a nice wage and the jobs available arn't too hard." The prince said, trying to advertise his own 'business'. Behind them, a few male servants were picking up the crates and hauling them inside, where they would give them to the kitchen hands.
